I purchased an Iphone 4S 3 weeks ago and it keeps dropping off wifi and using 3g whilst at home. No other iphones having problems and now have used excess data. Googled and was suggested changing the DNS to an open server?
Since yesterday morning now both wifi and 3g have been dropping like mad on my phone--the icon will just disappear and I will have no internet signal at all, and sometimes orange will completely drop out (which is normal because my house gets bad reception in some areas. Sometimes the circle appears and I can get a slow connection for a moment before everything completely drops. The phone is only 4 months old and hasn't been dropped at all. I've tried the drain battery option and the airplane also one, but nothing is working at all.
My new Lumia 950xl keeps dropping my wifi connection. I have numerous devices on the same wifi network, including an iPad and none of them have the same issues.
Having problem with Lollipop and the WiFi connection getting dropped. Last night I was browsing the web on my S4 and noticed that the WiFi connection kept dropping in an out! Rebooted and did a cache wipe! Seems to be ok now but will wait and see. Still not convinced I shouldn't just flash this thing back to 4.4.2
I can be browsing the internet on my phone, i put the phone down for a while then when i try to go back on the net it wont work. I have to disable the wifi connection then reconnect for the phone to connect to the internet. This happens everytime i try to go on the net. Every other device in the house ie phones laptops etc works fine with no connection problems.
I have the Xoom 2 WiFi 3g 32GB and it constantly drops my home network wifi connection.
It scans, sees the SSID, connects, authenticates the encryption, then drops the connection, only to scan and reconnect again in a constant cycle.Wireless router is a Netcomm NP800n on latest firmware. Tried both WPA and WPA2, tried the Xoom with a static IP and tried rebooting both devices.Xoom is on Honeycomb 3.2.2, system version 0.268.4.MZ616.AsiaRetail.en.03 and wifi disconnect policy is set to never.
My Curve 8520 has my home wireless connection but it doesn't hold the connection for more than a minute at a time. Is there anything I can do? It's fine when the little WiFi words light up in the top right of the screen, but then it goes grey and is disconnected.
This has been happening since 5.0.1 and each update they put out. I've tried all the reccomended fixes on the forums, and other places online, disableing the location services doens't help, airplane mode doesn't even help, I have to reboot the phone each time it happens. No web data, no email, no iMessages... what gives? never had issues on a jailbroken 3gs, but tried to get the new "improved" version and keep it legit.
Our new iPhones keep dropping the home network connection. The signal icon is there and settings shows we're connected but we need to turn Wi-Fi off and on to re-establish a connection.
Honestly, how bad is reception in Manhattan? Dropped calls all the time? Slow data and internet connection? Text messages coming through hours after they were sent? I always hear about these issues. How true are they?
I have an iphone 3gs running on ios 5.1.1. Everytime I connect it to wifi it drops it within a minute. (almost like there is a drop timer) I need to use wifi everyday so this is a big problem for me.
I recently bought a BB curve 8520, set up the wireless connection successfully, through my home network, or so I thought. But now about 70% of the time the wireless icon is grey and not connecting to the network, I could be sitting about 5 feet from the router and the icon will appear as available, in black and white, then change to grey for no apparent reason.
i have had my iphone 4 for about 4 5 months as this was a replacement. but now i keep having this issue. i have had it for about a month. i connect to my internet and it works perfectly. surfing the web facebook all works. but soon as i go on to Internet and click on a video every 4 - 5 minutes the wifi signal drops and to get it back i have to ecit to the home screen and wait for a couple of seconds. then i go back onto the video and it happens again. this happens on alot of wifi connections not just my one what could be the issue?
my galaxy s2 has stopped me looking at the media files on my phone though my PC. everytime i try to transfer a video or open the photos folder it just drops connection. ive tried it though kies too all latest updates installed. but as soon has i transfer a film or music it just drops, then reconnects asking me what i want to do.
Has anyone's iPhone 4S and iPad 2 experience the same problem after the iOS 5.1 update? When the device is left (screen) on, not on standby mode.
Both my iOS devices seem not able to lock on to my home wifi network (AirPorts), after a while they would drop out and on screen shows the 3G icon, I did not have this problem prior to 5.1 update.
Yes I have tried: Forget Network - and re-log in againReset all Network settingsTurn device on and offShut down and turn on home AirPort network
I really do not know what else to do. But if I put the device to sleep, i.e. I always have my iPad 2 on standby, when I turn it on, the wifi would be there.

My home network using a password. When I come into the house, my iPhone3 used to connect automatically. I had a problem with my network and had to reset it. Now, when my iPhone goes to sleep, I lose the connection to my WiFi and have to re-enter my password.
my iPhone (iOS 4.1) has been running sluggishly, freezing for a couple of seconds after trying to press the home button (from locked), to random freezes on the dashboard etc., most of the time after a couple of seconds it unfroze. The phone was dropped several times (always had a sturdy cover) but always worked fine. About 2 weeks ago it started to get worse, phone kept randomly restarting, loosing service and wifi and then reconnecting again. I scoured the internet for possible clues and in the end ordered a new battery which I installed successfully. Also reset the device as new and installed the latest iOS 6.1.6?. No problem with freezing/being sluggish anymore but the service/reception and wifi keep dropping. Sometimes it is random. Sometimes it happens right after I slide to unlock the phone. The connection can hold from several minutes to an hour or so before dropping to a bar and then no service (wifi disappears as well), after a while it comes back on. I have asked for another replacement battery (in-case this one was faulty) and will see where that will get me. (also when it is charging now it has the occasional random restart, not very often but sometimes)
There's neither letter G nor H in the white box on my screen and at times only G without the box. It started all of a sudden tonight. Someone said there might be something wrong with the transmission towers as there's wind outside.
This phone (stock, non rooted) was working with BT fine under 5.01and Kit Kat before it for mostly calls. I know it is the phone because I have tested it now in three different cars, my 2014 Prius, a new Chrysler and Ford. It exhibits the same behavior. Pairing is not a problem. If the screen in on when I enter the car the connection is made. When the screen dims (sleeps) the connection drops shortly thereafter. If I swipe and get the screen back on I can manually re-connect through the car's radio. If I enter the car with the phone in my holster, likely asleep, it will not connect.
Keeping the screen from sleeping appears to "remedy" this issue but that is hardly an option in terms of battery life. Normally I keep the phone in a holster and never had this issue. I have tried every remedy on the Internet. I am using safe lock and have the radio as a trusted device. I have removed safe lock and the same issue ensues. I have unpaired, cleared cache, re-paired etc.
Last night I hooked up the phone to my Garmin Nuvi via BT. No disconnect issues.
i'm located in Malaysia and have been calling the network operator asking if they have data connection problem and they said NO. i have friends using the X10 with different network operator and experiencing the same thing..is this hardware or the upgrade?
I updated both Iphone 4's to 5.1.1. and now whether related or not both phones are wonky dropping WIFI in the house. It comes on and off when it pleases. I looked at the time capsule for WIFI settings and all seems fine. My Ipad2 works fine and AppleTV gen2 works fine just both Iphones. My network shows up in the WIFI list and when I touch to log in it says network is unavailable.
Anyone having problems with bluetooth headsets dropping connections? I have a Motorola H17txt and Bose Series II, both will start cutting in and out, then completely drop the connection after about five minutes.
Since Upgrading to 2.3.4 GB, my Atrix has consistantly dropped the Data portion of the Connection, the Wifi and Network Icons are Blue and showing H+ Icon. If I go from Desktop to Email, the Icons go gray and time elapses before they turn "Blue Again", If I try to access email, I get a warning, "No Data Connection or The Password to your ISP is not valid.
I have a Bold 9900 and my carrier is Rogers. The phone is about 6 months old. I use wifi and don't have a data plan, but my wifi keeps dropping. It is notjust at my house, but anywhere I access a wifi signal. It will drop the signal, pick it up again and continue to drop it. I have tried doing a battery pull but that did not work. My wife's BB Curve is having no problems, nor is my Playbook.
I just got my HTC One a few hours ago (international version) and I am having issues with WiFi. Everything works fine until I lock the device. Upon waking my phone, WiFi connection is lost, reconnects, and then although the connection shows up on the status bar, the internet does not work.
Yesterday my sony xperia Z2(d6503 , just kept dropping wifi and my bluetooth connection to my smart band. I have tried reseting the phone but still not working. I am running android 4..4.4 , build number 23.0.1.A.0.167
