Xperia PLAY :: Wifi Connection Keeps Dropping?
Jun 13, 2012I can be browsing the internet on my phone, i put the phone down for a while then when i try to go back on the net it wont work. I have to disable the wifi connection then reconnect for the phone to connect to the internet. This happens everytime i try to go on the net. Every other device in the house ie phones laptops etc works fine with no connection problems.

May 23, 2012Since yesterday morning now both wifi and 3g have been dropping like mad on my phone--the icon will just disappear and I will have no internet signal at all, and sometimes orange will completely drop out (which is normal because my house gets bad reception in some areas. Sometimes the circle appears and I can get a slow connection for a moment before everything completely drops. The phone is only 4 months old and hasn't been dropped at all. I've tried the drain battery option and the airplane also one, but nothing is working at all.

It scans, sees the SSID, connects, authenticates the encryption, then drops the connection, only to scan and reconnect again in a constant cycle.Wireless router is a Netcomm NP800n on latest firmware. Jul 3, 2010I got the xperia z5 for Christmas and noticed that the WiFi was almost constantly dropping during use. I brought the phone back and got a replacement but it occurs with the new one too as it seems its a well known problem.
Basically, my wifi just drops during use and it requires me to turn wifi off and back on again so it will reconnect. I could easily do this 5 times within a couple of minutes, other times it will barely happen.

Dec 15, 2014I am having a strange issue when using both Bluetooth and Wifi simultaneously.
This happens pretty regularly when using the Spotify app whilst having the phone audio connected to a Bluetooth speaker. The pairing process works without issue. However, as soon as I begin searching the app for music, and select a track for playing, the WiFi connection drops. Sometimes It eventually reconnects, other times I have to go back to settings and manually select the network once again.
During the connection drop, I can still see the Wifi network and all my other devices still remain connected. Rebooting the doesnt fix it, nor does disabling/enabling the wifi. Its rendering the phone useless for music streaming!

It's hard to get a connection with a 802.1x EAP wifi. Even if I managed to get connected, the wifi is very unstable and will disconnect now and then!
I have tried reinstall by using update service and PC companion but the problem still exist. Is it a software or hardware issue?

Jul 17, 2015This phone (stock, non rooted) was working with BT fine under 5.01and Kit Kat before it for mostly calls. I know it is the phone because I have tested it now in three different cars, my 2014 Prius, a new Chrysler and Ford. It exhibits the same behavior. Pairing is not a problem. If the screen in on when I enter the car the connection is made. When the screen dims (sleeps) the connection drops shortly thereafter. If I swipe and get the screen back on I can manually re-connect through the car's radio. If I enter the car with the phone in my holster, likely asleep, it will not connect.
Keeping the screen from sleeping appears to "remedy" this issue but that is hardly an option in terms of battery life. Normally I keep the phone in a holster and never had this issue. I have tried every remedy on the Internet. I am using safe lock and have the radio as a trusted device. I have removed safe lock and the same issue ensues. I have unpaired, cleared cache, re-paired etc.
Last night I hooked up the phone to my Garmin Nuvi via BT. No disconnect issues.
