I'm constantly battling low internal drive space on my Tab S (I'll NEVER buy another 16GB internal drive device), but this question should also pertain to my S6.
When I go into my "Storage" settings, I have the option to clear my cache with one click. I'd like to use this function to clear off my cached browsing, imgur, etc., but my concern is my games.
1) If I clear the cache, will I lose my saved game data?
2) Will I lose any settings for any apps?
i recently adquired a sk17 and when i turn on tethering lose the data connection, anyone knows why?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen Bluetooth is turned on, my data connection will disappear (i.e. the 3G or 4G icon on my screen will go away) sometime between 30 min to 2 hours after turning phone on (different length each time). I can still make calls, but the data connection is gone until I restart the phone.WiFi will still be able to connect. If bluetooth is not turned on, the data connection is fine, both 3G and 4G and wifi.
View 10 Replies View RelatedBeen having horrendous problems with data connectivity. I take the train from Baltimore to DC every day, and w/my OG Droid, never had problems, even if one or two location only seemed to have 1x available. With my Bionic, however, I am frequently dropping my data connection completely (moreso than it seems when I bought the phone in September -- not 100% sure since I wasn't paying close attention to it those first couple weeks). For the heck of it, I thought I report it on twitter and see what kind of response I would get from @VZWSupport. (I always get better Comcast support from their twitter folks than from my local office).Got a response (see attached graphic). They told me to enable data roaming. Really? Anybody had success with that? I'm worried about running up a huge bill.

I plan to leave the phone off unless I need to check in with someone in US.I know that the voice rate will be $4.99 per minute, but how do I turn off the data portion of the phone to not rack up crazy roaming data charges. I do have unlimited international email but suspect the cruise ship does not count.

I have data roaming disabled but my phone (Nexus 5) is still using data when I'm roaming. The only way I've found to prevent this is to turn off cellular data entirely. Why this is happening? What I want is for my phone to use data when on my carrier's network but not when roaming.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was traveling in Germany and Italy, and I made sure to set "Data Services While Roaming" to "Off." However, I still did incur data roaming charges. They are really small-- like 15KB/day, but it's nonetheless annoying that my Blackberry Bold 9700 is using data even though I turned it off. I use AT&T. Does anyone know why?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got an S6 and oddly enough, a new computer as well. The computer has USB 3.0 ports on the front panel and USB 2.0 ports on the back. I've discovered that when I plug my phone into the rear ports, the phone starts charging and Windows recognizes the phone as a storage device and opens explorer. However when I plug my phone into any of the front ports, it charges the phone but Windows does not recognize it as a storage device.
I thought USB was supposed to be universal. Shouldn't I be able to use a 3.0 port on a phone and just have it work slower if the device itself is not 3.0 compatible?
For instance whenever i go to the Sprint Music Plus store to purchase ring backs i may pick an artist and choose
1)"more from this artist"
2)"you might also like "....
Whenever I choose one of those choices it will say " no results found" and then a white box appears and says" error- no data connection, make sure your device is connected " ??
Internet connection & apps go in and out of service constantly. Sprint LG G3. I do have data roaming on.

Got my new 9900 a couple of weeks ago, besides the horrible battery life, When roaming, the data transfer rate (on 3G or 2G) deteriorates to a halt. Takes several minutes to download a web page. It even looses its connectivity to BBM at times. None of these issues occur when I am at home country. I am wondering if anyone else experiences similar issue and if there is any solution to the problem. The primary reason to have a BB is for its always ON reliability which unfortunately have been lacking on the "NOT SO READY FOR PRIME TIME" 9900 device.

In fact I cannot send data while roaming.Everything else is working fine, I receive messages on my device, I can receive calls and send txt messages. I cannot surf on the internet. Before I had no problem at all. It just started a few weeks ago. When I write a message and send it, it just stays in my mailbox with the clock icon next to it. When I abroad connect to Wifi, the messages are sent.

I recently got an iPhone 4S at an Apple store. They set it up for me, and instructed me how to backup my old iPhone onto my new one later. It's been a few days. If do the backup now, will I lose items added on the new phone since I've been using it?

Yesterday i used the the mobile data connection just as normal. I downloaded from the store and everything. Then i was back in wlan. I tried Fring. I wanted to try Fring also on 3G or Edge or HDSPA or whatever comes out from my handy and goes into the air ^^ I don't know anymore. So I turned off my wlan and was down. No internet anymore and even there was no icon in the toolbar.
I turned my phone on and off, unistalled every app i installed since the last time it worked, which was just an hour before that.
The things i installed were: A brightness widget (appears under volume controll if you press the volume buttons. I forgot the name.) and "Quicksettings", which leeded to uninstalling the first mentioned unit. After that didn't help either, i changed the card in my phone with another from the same provider. It didn't work. In the same move i put my card to another smartphone and got a connection. Conclusion: Either my phone is misconfigured (which i hope for) or it's broken (which would suck but i have warrenty left).
I even tried to let my provider send me the right connection data and saved them. Nothing...I know there is the way of getting back to factory settings, but i only want to try that if i'm running out of possibilities. And of course i don't want to lose my app data. my phone is not rooted now and i know i have to, to save my app data and apps (which sucks. 1-0 for the iPhone). I you have only ideas that could be done by rooting my phone i would do so, but i would rather avoid that because of the 'maybe warranty loose'.
Looks like ios4 has a bad bug. Data roaming can occur even when the option for DR is set to off.
First, my prob. Brand new iPhone 4 set up as new. On first arrival in foreign country, emails start to download, can surf safari, even though no wifi and DR set to off.
Problem fixed by turning DR on and off again. Now DR blocked as required.
On a 3GS upgraded to ios4. Same initial probs as above butnpeob persists!
Phone continues to download data in background! When safari activated, DR-off message appears but data still downloads. Only way to turn off the DR is to change APN settings.
Be warned folks -and, anyone's experienced this?
I've got a problem with my Curve 9300 while roaming. I don't want to allow data while roaming, as it's costs are too high, but if I switch off data the phone drops the mobile connection after about two minutes. With data switched on, the connection is normal and stays on.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy 8120 is dropping its data services when roaming outside UK. When I airrve in a new country (happened twice in Sweden) the service works then drops, edge and gprs in lower case and no amount of battery pulls, messages sent to register BIS or calls to service provider will not make any difference. I can link to 3 diffrent network providers in Sweden and cant get data with any of them. Calls to the service provider show their BB services are fine it seems like data roaming isnt working on my phone. How do I get this problem fixed as Orange seem to be unable to fix this.
Can the phone be untethered from my service and re connected to boot the thing back to life again, would that work? I appear to be not linked to my BIS service when roaming, whats the fix for this. My host routing table is empty
Data services "ON"
When roaming "OFF"
Mobile network active (on)
Wifi on, set to preferred, connected
With the above setting, will the"data" like email work over Wifi if I am out of my service area (ie. roaming)??I know that if Data Services is set to off, the Wifi will not work, but if it is set to "ON" and when roaming is "OFF", will that also prevent Wifi from working? In other words, is the when roaming "OFF" only apply to the mobile network data (eg. 3G) or does it affect the wifi? Intuitively, off is off, but then I didn't write this code....and I'm not going overseas to test it?
Do I need to put data roaming on when NOT traveling abroad? (In my own country)
Mine is turned off and I still have internet, access to emails ect.
What will data roaming do if I put it on ??
