View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen Bluetooth is turned on, my data connection will disappear (i.e. the 3G or 4G icon on my screen will go away) sometime between 30 min to 2 hours after turning phone on (different length each time). I can still make calls, but the data connection is gone until I restart the phone.WiFi will still be able to connect. If bluetooth is not turned on, the data connection is fine, both 3G and 4G and wifi.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola RAZR international GSM version (XT910). It is an unlocked phone without any contract or carrier branding.
I seem to have issues whenever i try using my phone as a WiFi Hotspot. When the Hotspot is turned on the data connection drops. I have tried this while using the device as a hotspot for my iPad and/or my laptop. I'm able to browse normally when i'm directly browsing on the phone. But the moment i begin to use the phone as a WiFi Hotspot i see the data connection immediately getting terminated. Even the data toggle widget i have on my home screen gets toggled off automatically. It comes back up once the device i tether from stops trying to access the hotspot.
This is not a carrier limitation. I tried using the same SIM Card on 2 other unlocked phones (Xperia X10i and Galaxy S2) and they both tether just fine. I also contacted my carrier and had the network and APN settings reset while using the RAZR. That didn't seem to solve the issue either. I have tried every solution that i know of. I have even reset the phone to factory settings a couple of times. But nothing seems to work. There are no Smart Actions setup that conflict with the data connection. I'm totally clueless about what is causing this issue.
It is really frustrating to know that i am able to tether even on a two year old Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i that's running Android 2.3.3 but not on the brand new RAZR for which i had to pay around $700.

I've just switched SIM cards from Vodafone to Telstra to try and get more reliable coverage. The phone has connected to the Telstra 3G network and I can make/receive phone calls and texts, however I have not been able to get a data connection (and my plan has 500GB included) except on the house wifi.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't always use the internet on my phone so i turn on data traffic only when i need it. but sometimes it does not automatically connect (the down/upload status is not visible) that i just usually restart my phone. Is this advisable and will it have any bad effect (such as phone deterioration and lower battery life) on my phone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a z2 a few weeks ago and really liked it, everything worked well, including tethering... but since the latest android update, the tethering has stopped working.
When trying to tether, my computer connects to the phone, but it says 'no internet connection'. I am on the 3 network and use tethering a LOT for work... I have checked all the settings on my phone and changed the APN type from ''default,supl,mms,a-gps' to 'internet+mms' as suggested here: [URL].....
But it made no difference. I dont know what else to try? It seems like there are a few others with the same issue. I am having to take the sim card out and put it in my old phone while at work so I can connect to the internet via tethering...
I am using my set as a modem by tethering to PC through USB cable...now problem is that while set is USB plugged it is charging...so when it is 100% charged can it be overcharged if i keep it plugged for using net...does overcharge effect battery life??
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just updated my phone's firmware to version 4.1.B. The updating went on well. After updating I turned on my phone and it started optimizing with my apps and that went well too. Then I was browsing through my phone's settings option and went to tethering and wifi hotspot option and turned on the bluetooth tethering. After that my phone rebooted and it keeps on rebooting on itself. It wont connect to my PC. I tried removing the battery but when I turn it on its the same thing.

BTW portable WiFi hotspot is working perfectly. Also there is another small problem, which is when i play a video in gallery, i see gray coloured field under the video, which suppose to be black..I should also say that the video displying quality has been slightly reduced after the update, even the BRAVIA engine is turned on...videos which played in superb quality, now display like low quality videos.

I use USB tethering a lot, and sometimes for very long times. When I disconnect the phone, sometimes, my phone becomes unable to receive calls. And even worse, the caller hears the normal calling sound, but my phone just doesn't do anything. So to the caller it seems that I'm just not answering, although the phone isn't notifying me in any way, during the call or after the call! So there is no way telling how many calls I'm missing..
When I try "reset" the mobile network by going to flight mode and back, the phone completely locks, and I have to remove the battery to reboot the phone. This problem won't go away unless I reboot the phone. This happens awfully often, regardless if I click USB tethering off from the phone first before disconnecting it. The most important function is not working and makes the "phone" useless.

When I go into my "Storage" settings, I have the option to clear my cache with one click. I'd like to use this function to clear off my cached browsing, imgur, etc., but my concern is my games.
1) If I clear the cache, will I lose my saved game data?
2) Will I lose any settings for any apps?
My iPhone 4S (with IOS 5.1 and all other App updated) is having an issue with it's internet connection. It remains connected to WiFi fine.Mail/Safari/App Store/Facebook/any internet based app cannot access the internet. No error screen is shown. The standard WiFi icon and the rotating 'in progress' wheel next to it.Sometimes I can restore the in app internet connection by turning WiFi off and then on again but not always.
So what is going on. I've not changed any setting recently to either my iPhone or router. Both have been working fine for months. My iPad and wife's iPhone are both fine also.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe XOOM 3G manual says that ts possible to use USB tethering for sharing your XOOM's 3G connection with the laptop. However, the XOOM doesn't have the option described in the manual! I'm running 3.2 on a non-US 3G XOOM.Well, you might wonder why I need USB tethering. So far, I've found that USB tethering provides better bandwidth than WIFI tethering.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a hard time tethering from XOOM to Laptop, after I reinstalled my Window VISTA laptop, and since I upgraded XOOM to 4G. I don't know whether it is 4G upgrade or VISTA that causes the problem. Sometime, it works the first attempt to connect, the other time i have to reboot my laptop a couple of times. My remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device driver is current. My Laptop saw XOOM drive fine no problem( I did installed Motorola Driver). And I attempted to do a soft reboot (Vol up + Power button), it shown the battery level and hung there for a long time (1 to 2 minutes maybe). I think i don't know how to do a soft reboot the right way. However, I can tether to my laptop, but i have to reboot my laptop a couple times. I did try to unplug and replug the USB cable and then set xoom to tethering/hot spot in both wifi and 3g/4g. It failed to connect unless I reboot the machine. My xoom is 3.2.2 with HLK75D build number.

I have a strange problem that occurred today after a year of using Z2 without any issues.I've connected my phone to PC to drop/backup some important photos I've made with Win explorer (as usual, sd card, copy, paste to C:userdocumentsphoto... etc.)
And after the backup copying was complete I saw in explorer that 6 Gigabytes in Sd card were gone. I went back to see if photos copied properly and they did, but Z2 has erased also movies, settings, music and e-books from SD card... it went completely stock with only android folder on board.
Restarted the phone, see if it will recover SD itself but all media was gone, in settings, application some of the sony apps were dated to February 1970 ?!?! There was no background defocus and AR effect in 1970 right?? Scanned the phone and Win7 with Avast, Spybot 2015 and BitDefender... all devices and PC are clean and protected.
I just bought my new sony z2. Every time i yurn the mobile data on ihave no connection. Although i paid fotlr internet package
View 3 Replies View RelatedI did a "Repair Phone" inside PCCompanion (in order to do a clean install of the OS). Afterwards I no longer have 3G data connection (no internet browser, e-mail, etc). I am able to make voice calls, but absolutely no data connection. My "Wireless & Network" setting shows that the "Data Enable" is on. I called my carrier and there is nothing wrong with my account. I tried putting the SIM into another smart phone (iPhone), and everything works fine.
