I want to sync my husband's google calendar to mine on my S6. If I add his google account under the add account it adds his whole google account, all his gmail and every hangout notification also pings on my phone. Is there a way to sync only the calendars? I've tried going into the settings for the google account on my phone and there is no sync toggle for hangouts

Then when I switched to the Galaxy s6, my calendar again didn't sync. Any settings I'm missing? I do have sync calendar in both Google and Samsung account enabled but it's not carrying over.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI like the Samsung calendar app but installed Google calendar as well and synced them so that if I lost my phone, all of my calendar data would still be on the desktop site through Google. It worked when I first installed it months ago. I just signed on and noticed that nothing but birthdays are on the desktop site but everything that I've entered into the Samsung mobile app IS on the Google calendar app on my S5. I've tried syncing everything through both mobile apps and the desktop, as well as followed the instructions through Google's calendar desktop site.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with syncing my Google calendar with my HTC One Vodafone Aus. The calendar I want to sync will show up for a day or two and then dissappears. After it dissappears, my Google account can still be seen in the list of available calendars to sync but the only option is to sync Google tasks. This happens with every calendar app I have tried (Stock HTC Calendar, Google Calendar and Buisness Calendar).
Every single time it will sync for two days at most. I can get all three calendar apps to display the calendars from my Google account temporarily if I clear all app data but again it only lasts a day or two.
My Galaxy S5 is set up to synchronize with my Microsoft exchange server. Emails synchronize perfectly and calendar events entered on my Microsoft exchange account synchronize with my Galaxy S5. The problem is, calendar events entered on my Galaxy S5 do not synchronize to my Microsoft Exchange calendar.

The phone does not have a Google Play app or any other Google Apps. How to get my Google Account onto the phone.
Note that the option "internet settings - download setting for internet and MMS" does not work. It returns the message "Could not download...."
When I first started using my LG G3 D850 I copied all my calendar items over to the phone. I set it up to sync with google calendars.
But I looked online at my google calendar and do not see any of the entries that are on my phone.
As far as I can tell all other things are syncing with my gmail account. The only things I use regularly are gmail and contacts and they are syncing fine.
So I was wondering how to sync my contacts from my google account to my phone. My wife had a Samsung and I synced the contacts with her google account but the contacts won't sync back to her new Icon. Is this not possible?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got my s5 in July, VZW update installed a couple weeks ago. I'm really not sure if my problem started before or after the update, since I just noticed it.
When my calendar syncs, all calendar info entered via PC comes into my phone. NONE of the events that I entered on my phone are shared back to my PC, or to my husband's phone. I tried downloading google calendar instead of stock calendar, but same problem exists.
I have checked settings IN the calendar app, tried rebooting the phone, verified sync settings via SETTINGS> ACCOUNTS> GOOGLE, tried removing and then adding my google account. Is there some hidden privacy button that I may have accidentally clicked?
This problem occurs regardless of which calendar app I'm using.
When I add my corporate account to the email app, it accepts my login information as well as the domain and server information. It takes me to the screen with the email options about push notifications and what not. I finish those settings and it takes me to my inbox. But nothing happens. Occasionally if I add it, it will say loading... with the spinning circle, but never loads. I have let it sit for hours, and it never syncs.
Now let me tell you what I have tried:
I have tried on 4G and on wireless
Adding from Accounts in Settings
Adding from the email app
Auto Sync data is on
Restrict Background Data is off
Once or twice it came up with the certificate issue and I noticed that the certificate was connected to a different website.
I have a gmail account, and msn account and a Verizon account. they are all connected and work fine all the time.
If I use an app called Cloud Magic it works, but that doesn't sync my calendar and contacts.
I think that is it. The phone is a Galaxy S5, 16GB / Verizon / Andriod 4.4.4 / Factory, not hacked or changed in anyway.
For some reason I can't find a way to sync Facebook Calender with S Planner. I tried the following with no success:
1) Go to S Planner > Manage Calenders > Add Account. Facebook is not there.
2) Go to Facebook app > Settings > App Settings > Sync Contacts > Sync with existing contacts. All it does is syncing Facebook contacts with the phone's contacts.
That's pretty frustrating as it was so easy to do with my HTC One M8.

View 1 Replies View RelatedKies 3 always crashes with an "Unknown Error" when trying to sync my Outlook 2007 calendar. Contacts and Tasks sync okay.
I've literally spent hours on the phone with Samsung (lack of) technical support with no resolution. They are in fact blaming Outlook claiming that this "Unknown Error" is an Outlook error and not a Kies 3 error (I doubt that). Their other suggestion is a factory reset on the phone which I don't want to do or to try another PC.
Using Windows 7 Pro, latest updates to Kies 3 and latest firmware updated today on the phone.
How do I sync my Facebook account with my calendar? I don't even have the option to add the Facebook account.

I've noticed a drop in battery life lately and Google Play services has been topping my battery charts, I'm wondering if this has something to do with it. The icon does stop spinning but it never disappears like it does for all the other items. I found someone else who had the same problem and he said he deleted then recreated his google account and that fixed it. I tried that and now not only is the sync icon still stuck there for Calendar but now it's stuck there for Google Play Newstand as well.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just switched from the default Samsung calendar app to the Google Calendar app. Events from my primary Google calendar, "Personal", appear on the Google Calendar app on my S5, but the calendar itself doesn't appear as an option when creating new events or in the Settings page. As a result, I can see all of my events that I enter via my PC browser (correctly under the label "Personal"), but I cannot add new events from my phone to that specific calendar. My other, less frequently used Gmail calendars (Birthdays, work, a few shared calendars) appear.

It was 4x1 and just showed the next event coming up on my calendar right on my home screen. While I have downloaded the Google Calendar app from the Play Store, I still don't have that widget. Not from the Google Calendar app nor the built in Samsung app. I just have a 2x3 one, 4x2 and 4x4. Which widget I'm referring to and how to get it? Or even if I could just get it to show up on my lockscreen but nowhere else, that would be fine!

I don't have access to a laptop to go on the Web, to use the web version of Google calendar. All advice has mentioned Gmail. I don't use Gmail for email. It's not loaded as an app, but I used to use it. Is that the reason why contact birthdays don't show on Google Calendar? I have added birthdays as a recurring event, but it annoys me that it doesn't work.

I started google calendar notifications to my email before I had a smart phone.... on my old Galaxy S4 I didn't have this problem. I have my default set up to send email (was supposed to be only to my computer) days before and hours before as a reminder. Now that I have my GS5 phone and have sync'd it with my calendar I get double notifications for some things and I cant get it to turn off. I dont want to turn off all my notifications? I turned off my email notifications on my phone but that doesn't stop me from getting double Notifications Texts and sound?
