View 2 RepliesI have a rooted AT&T S6 and was using Tasker normally, but I decided to clean up/freeze some more system apps, and then I ran into a problem. For some reason, accessibility settings for Tasker become disabled and when I tried to re-enable them, I was prompted with this error message: "Error: "Turn on universal switch. Universal switch does not support the current system language. The text-to-speech language will be set to null, but this might cause unexpected behavior". After hitting "Ok", it would say settings has crashed.
I fixed this by unfreezing Samsung text-to-speech engine. Afterwards, the message about Universal Switch never came up again. This is just an FYI if cannot enable any accessibility settings due to settings has crashed.
I'm trying to enable services under accessibility for my nova launcher to toggle the notification bar to hide it. But when I try to enable it the pop up says that universal switch system language is not compatible or something and when I click accept, it just force closes the application.

On "Settings" "Options" "Password" it shows that my password is "Enabled" and also shows a lock. I want to totally remove the password. If I try to change the password and not enter anything in the new password field, it does not work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI live in Mexico City and we get our iphones robbed a lot, my suggestion is that the password could also block turning off the phone so we can use "find my iphone". It would certainly increase the security for us.

So I enabled accessibility shortcut, then found it so annoying that I decided to disable it. Luckily, I paid attention for how to scroll and tap, but when I came to the accessibility shortcut feature in the settings page, I turned off the feature, but the accessibility shortcut was still on! There you have it, it's off, but it is still running.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA message appeared on my husband's phone to make a security update or lose the security on the phone. I started the download which took forever. We were visiting relatives at the time and did not keep a check on it. When we got home we found it had used up most of our data which created a data usage warning. We want to delete the download without installing, but there is no place to do this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a long time iPhone user and switched to Android last week (Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge).
I am still getting used to the phone and there are some minor things are are bugging me.
A big nuisance for me is the backup password with the fingerprint security feature - I don't like having to use a backup password that is a mixture of letters and characters.
If my fingerprint hand is occupied it makes opening the phone difficult.
How can I prevent the need to use my fingerprinted security when the phone knows my gps location??

Got a message this morning that there was a security policy update to download. I'm thinking this is to resolve the keyboard issue? Am I able to take the update at all if I'm rooted (but stock)? Will it break anything? Sprint version, so I don't think it's the 5.1.1 update.

View 4 Replies View RelatedNow that I'm getting to grip a little more with my SGS II then the next stage is to look at security. On my old phone I had a pin code lock for when the phone was turned on. The nearest I've seen to that is the encrypt device option.Has anyone any recommendations as to good practices for security on android phones, especially with the auto sync of some accounts needed for running which makes me want to lock the phone down tight should it get into undesirable hands.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI usually use swipe to unlock for my phone. I turned on fingerprint today just to see if I could get use to it. Now I can't turn it off. Options to have no lock or standard swipe are not available to me anymore.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S6. The phone updated to 5.1.1 and after that the phone prompts to update security settings for email account. Then it will take you to a phone encryption screen and the encryption reboots the phone, but then keeps looping. I do have an exchange account and our company requires to have encryption on the phone. I just installed the Nine Exchange and it is working without any issues, but how can I fix the other way I access email?

View 24 Replies View RelatedMy finger prints are damaged with callus and the screen won't read them. I want to disable and go back to a simpler system.
Samsung GS5 with Android 5.0.
I'm getting the error in the stock email app when trying to create a new email using my works email address.
Security warning: there are problems with security certificate for this site.
I then click continue and get this message.
Setup could not finish : unable to open connection to server. Security error occurred.
I have checked my security updates and it's all up to date. Is this a problem on my end or is it the how the exchange is set up to screw over android users at work? I have checked for a notification while doing it by scrolling down from the top and nothing is there.
I need email with exchange security disabled
As far as I have looked for, there is no available solution: Wanam module requires xposed, which is not yet available for our S6 64 bits architecture, Alliance fwk announces the feature but it is not active,
So I decided to implement the solution based on the tutorial [URL] ....
I can't get the app working on the phone (it crashes). I suspect that zipalign is doing 32 bits alignment whereas the S6 is 64 bits. I found no indications on Android dev site..
Okay so my dad wants to get into the security option in his phone to add a fingerprint, however to do so required the backup password.
Knowing my dad, he had forgotten the password and cannot get in here, the only suggestion we have found is reset your phone which obviously is a bit last resort.
I have found some suggestions I. e. sign in your Google account however that did not work nor did a suggestion which was to go in private mode and from there it will prompt the fingerprint and make that default.
so my question is how do I restart the password?
I know the pass code i entered to unlock phone for some reason not working.
