I usually use swipe to unlock for my phone. I turned on fingerprint today just to see if I could get use to it. Now I can't turn it off. Options to have no lock or standard swipe are not available to me anymore.

So my fully updated S5 lock screen will disable itself randomly. I will have it on the swipe or code lock and several days later it will just auto put it back to no screen lock. Same is happening to my wife's S5 and we have a few same apps that we have had for a year. It could be several days to one day.

It used to have a lock screen when I first got it but now all it does is sometimes shows me blips of the lock screen and then goes to whatever I had open last. View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else run into the bug where randomly the security lock screen is ignored and the regular slide lock screen is shown?Since ICS, I have the lock screen set to a PIN as I have always had it. The setting is toggled to lock automatically after 5 seconds of the screen going off and immediately if you hit the power button.Settings under security)The problem is that randomly when you turn it back on, it will show the standard slide to unlock screen instead of the pin screen and then will just unlock if you slide it; completely bypasses the security lock.I don't think I set anything incorrectly as it behaves as intended 95% of the time. This is obviously quite a big flaw as it completely compromises the security of the phone which is unacceptable as my work email comes to my phone as well

Is there a way to eliminate the standard unlock feature, so that I don't have to go thru 2 unlock screens to get to the homescreen? On my original Droid, once I programmed the lock pattern in, the standard one went away; not so with this one.
View 1 Replies View Related1) the screen doesn't lock anymore; i mean the slide to unlock thing doesn't appear : when i lock the phone the screen just goes black but when it's in my pocket it unlocks itself and start messing around like calling by itself!
2)the central button now only lights the screen; it doesn't go back to the main screen anymore! i have to use the button <-- (back) as many times as i entered in a folder to go back to the main screen..
3)the phone doesn't ring anymore! i can listen to music or whatever but it will just vibrate when someone calls me! also when I try to change the sound level with the side buttons, even if i go max, it will say :Ringer Volume silent ringtone selected
4)the camera crashes as soon as i open it, it's just black as if something was blokcing the camera.. the only option reamaing is to turn off the phone and then reboot!
5)by the way when I press the shut off button usually you have 3 choices : *plane mode *power off *xxxx (i just can't rember what it was)well now i only have one option: power off!
6)Oh btw it has already happened to me a few days ago; after much searching in the internet with no answers i simply did the 'factory data reset' thing and it worked!
I have a Motorola Droid Turbo. I have never locked the phone. I downloaded ANDROID PAY app last night. It required a screen lock to secure credit card. I agreed and set up a pattern screen lock. I got tired of unlocking phone every time. I went to disable the screen lock and I am NOT ABLE to do that. The security settings for NONE and SWIPE have been grayed out and are no longer an option. I have removed ANDROID PAY and still have issue.

Enough to put anyone in a great mood.Fixing the screen isn't the problem though. 02 have agreed to fix it for me, for a small fee, but they have confirmed that the whole phone will be flashed before hand. This is not good. I have a lot of memories on the phone that i would like back.I have connected the phone to samsung keis, however, since the screen locked, the dam thing won't let me in to my own data. Understandably this is to ensure absolutle security to your sh** but I can't help wondering why samsung didn't install an option that allows you to unlock the phone from your computer. really need some help figuring out how I can get my sh** back. When I go to the 'screen lock type' screen, it does not offer Swipe or None, they are there but in lightened font. just want to return the phone to no lock. I was able to remove the fingerprints but now the Screen Lock Type screen only offers pattern, pin, password or fingerprints. I want None...but it is in lightened font and says "Turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have had my S5 2 days. When I am in the lock screen If i press the side lock button or get a notification (sms/email/eBay) or when my charge hits 100% The screen lights up.
I like this feature the only problem is then the screen does not go back out!! it stays lit until i tap the side lock button again or unlock the phone until it times out again .
I have checked developer options and nothing is ticked to keep screen on etc... I have also tried messing with screen lock times and stuff.
