I just recently switched to an android phone (HTC one m8) after years of using Apple iPhone and must say that I'm loving android far better than iPhone. Anyways, lol, I'm having trouble getting my lock screen to work properly. I've set a password up and it only works sometimes.
So my fully updated S5 lock screen will disable itself randomly. I will have it on the swipe or code lock and several days later it will just auto put it back to no screen lock. Same is happening to my wife's S5 and we have a few same apps that we have had for a year. It could be several days to one day.
I updated today to lollipop. But now in my lock screen security settings i can't select "none" or "swipe". I have already tried disabling the administrators.
I usually use swipe to unlock for my phone. I turned on fingerprint today just to see if I could get use to it. Now I can't turn it off. Options to have no lock or standard swipe are not available to me anymore.
I usually disable my pin when I am on my bike so that I have easy access to my tracking app. Today I encountered the screen here and cannot choose None or Swipe for my lock screen. How this was disabled.
Has anyone else run into the bug where randomly the security lock screen is ignored and the regular slide lock screen is shown?Since ICS, I have the lock screen set to a PIN as I have always had it. The setting is toggled to lock automatically after 5 seconds of the screen going off and immediately if you hit the power button.Settings under security)The problem is that randomly when you turn it back on, it will show the standard slide to unlock screen instead of the pin screen and then will just unlock if you slide it; completely bypasses the security lock.I don't think I set anything incorrectly as it behaves as intended 95% of the time. This is obviously quite a big flaw as it completely compromises the security of the phone which is unacceptable as my work email comes to my phone as well
So you turn on the X2, you have the green tab that you move to the right to access your home screen. I also have a security lock pattern that I use to unlock access. Is there a way to eliminate the standard unlock feature, so that I don't have to go thru 2 unlock screens to get to the homescreen? On my original Droid, once I programmed the lock pattern in, the standard one went away; not so with this one.
I have a Motorola Droid Turbo. I have never locked the phone. I downloaded ANDROID PAY app last night. It required a screen lock to secure credit card. I agreed and set up a pattern screen lock. I got tired of unlocking phone every time. I went to disable the screen lock and I am NOT ABLE to do that. The security settings for NONE and SWIPE have been grayed out and are no longer an option. I have removed ANDROID PAY and still have issue.
I've got an nokia n97 mini and i would like to know if there is a way of putting a password lock on a few things on my phone e.g. my messages, pictures, apps, etc.
I have just bought a new Nokia Asha 200.I need to put a phone security password, but the user guide only instructs how to change the password, but I can not find anything about enabling it.I also tried to find all the options in the security settings but could not find the answer.
I got issue from past week, suddenly phones lost my security lock reverted back to swipe. I tried putting face unlock and PIN but after few minutes the phone goes back to swipe to unlock. I don't recall installing any new apps in past few weeks nor installing any phone updates except for app updates for already installed apps
I have ATT version of the NEON and I would like it to automatically lock and thus require a security code to dial out or look at my text messages, etc. etc.So for example I would like for it to require a security code everytime I unlock the automatic key lock. (the key lock doesn't require a code just have to open it or hit the yes button). You can set the phone to require the security code (default is 0000) when you power up the phone, or when a new Sim Card is put in or immediately.
Immediately would be ok if it stayed on but the immediately option only works once.So short of going through the menus and setting it immediately each time or powering the phone off and then back on Does anyone know a way to do a lock on the Neon? Don't most phones have a lock feature?
I've recently made the switch back to android from an iPhone after quite a few years and I'm trying to re-familiarize myself with android's operating system and work out what I need to change and using this phone I noticed the notifications lacking, so I set up DashClock and DashNotifier and so far I love it. It does exactly what I want it to do for all the apps I have set up with it except for the notifications coming through the 'Messages' app on the phone for text messages.
When receiving a text message my lock screen ignores that I've set up DashClock as my default lock screen and pulls up the original lock screen with the quite ugly 'New Message' notification (as seen in the attached picture). If I scroll to the right DashClock is open and showing the message notification just fine. I've tried to disable the lock screen notifications for the 'Messages' app but haven't been successful in removing it. Is there a way to just have the 'Messages' app give lock screen notifications on the top bar and none like in the image below, or is there a work around within DashClock/DashNotifier or some other application that would fix this? My phone is running Android 4.4.2.
Is Satio has the lock code or security code like the nokia have? and i m thinking to buy this set?should i go for it?please do tell me about the lock code?
Well I just recently purchased a Sony Ericsson W995. I think its fantastic but I don't think the security is all that great. I know you have a pin code and a phone lock code (For when you are switching the phone on), but is their anything to lock your phone with while its switched on (Like a code to input to unlock your phone?).
i was wondeing if anyone could me with the haptic ( tactil) feedback for the security lock and keyboard, ive went into settings and turned both on, and still.
Would like to use scanner but don't understand why the security lock timer is disabled (greyed out) so I use the pattern instead so I can utilize the lock timer.
I updated my phone to lollipop 5.0, it is in general good till now, but i have two problems:
1) no notifications are displayed on my lock screen even for missed calls or sms's .. there is no any icon or symbol that informs me if i have missed any call or received a message ; and i have to unlock my phone every time to check
in the Settings -> Sounds and Notifications -> i selected the option to show all the notifications.. but nothing changed
2) also on the lock screen , not widget for the walkman or the sound cloud to enable me to pause the players or to navigate to the next song
The phone froze and so it restarted but now whenever I try typing my security lock code in the phone tells me that I have to wait 5 minutes, as I have typed it wrong in 5 times. I wait 5 mins but I keep getting the same message when the security lock code I am typing is 100% the correct one.
After the 5.0 update, I went to add my Moto 360 as a trusted device and when I went to the Smart Lock menu option under Security settings I was surprised that there wasn't a Smart Lock menu option in there.
This is right out of the release notes from motorola: "Android Lollipop adds native support for allowing trusted devices to keep your phone unlocked (such as your Moto 360, a Bluetooth car kit or headset, etc.). Smart Lock replaces the prior trusted device capability in your Motorola phone. Note that you will need to add your trusted devices back after the transition to Lollipop in the Security settings menu under Smart Lock."
Noticed this option missing when your Moto X 2014 was upgraded to Lollipop.
I installed LockInfo a while ago. I got everything working fine, downloaded it and plugins fine. I got them all from the same repo as I was advised to do that, and everything seemed to be working fine. Everything was up to date etc.
I received an SMS, and instead of it appearing under the SMS on LockInfo, which it does, it appears as well by the annoying Apple notification box.
I still want my phone to light up when I received a text message and the text message to be displayed under the SMS tab in LockInfo, but how do I get rid of the Apple notification box? I saw when configuring the app there was some thing about quick replying to texts and there was a list to choose form. Would any of those get rid of the Apple alert?
