View 1 Repliesis there no way to stop notifications from waking the screen? Everytime I get any sort of notification, my screen wakes up to display the notification on the lock screen, and then goes back to sleep a second later. I would like to turn this off and it drains battery.

Am I able to take the update at all if I'm rooted (but stock)? Will it break anything? Sprint version, so I don't think it's the 5.1.1 update.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S6. The phone updated to 5.1.1 and after that the phone prompts to update security settings for email account. Then it will take you to a phone encryption screen and the encryption reboots the phone, but then keeps looping. I do have an exchange account and our company requires to have encryption on the phone. I just installed the Nine Exchange and it is working without any issues, but how can I fix the other way I access email?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI decided to update my samsung s6 after the update thing had reminded me three times. But it won't stop going from the samsung screen, to the AT&T scree, to the optimizing apps screen, and loading maybe 12/65 apps, and then going black, and then back to the samsung screen. I don't know what to do, because it's been doing this over and over again for more than 5 minutes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI get a random notification "skyline" after my phone was updated yesterday, It happens 4 or 5 times a day. Tried to identify by a notification logger but does not show anything, the phone just pings with no led flash... I heard its a yahoo app but I do not have yahoo account or on my phone.
Phone is UK model, unlocked on EE carrier from carphone warehouse. Android Central App (S6 White 64gb)
I tried to avoid the 4.4.4 update with a vengeance, but VZW forced it despite my saying NO< NO< NO....
A few things changed for the better, but for me, the SMS Notification Sound is gone.
The LED lights up, but no notification sounds period.
I had restarted the phone several times for other reasons, so that ought to be taken care of.
I decided to go through a complete reconfiguration of the phone's default settings for every notification sound thinking that maybe, just maybe they needed to be "pushed again" to "fix it". Kind of like VZW nullifying our Voice Mail and not telling us that it will go away.
None of that made it give me the Chirp Sound when a message came in. Okay, just maybe after a new configuration has been done, it does not take effect until you Restart the Phone??
Couldn't be.But it was............ I did a restart once again AFTER having gone thru the configuration settings, and now the birds are chirping again when I get an SMS.
Is there anyway to get rid of the 5.0 update on the notification bar? I downgraded back to 4.4.4 and this notification stays there. Now my husband has the S5 also but his never notified him that there was even an update but I sure would like to get rid of it on mine

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got an S6 and immediately rooted via ping pong. The problem I've got is that the phone downloaded the 5.11 update and then asked me if I wanted to install, which I obviously don't. I just used the back button to leave the update screen, but now I'm left with a notification saying "System Update - Update Postponed".
Can I get rid of this somehow?
Started receiving the update notification yesterday but I am very happy with my phone as is. It's up-to-date up until this update and I'm the kind of person where I feel "if it aint broke don't fix it". I rather hate design changes especially. Anyhow, in the past the only way I knew for disabling the update was to root the phone and use an app to disable the AT&T update app. Are there any other non-root options?
This is the one thing I wish they'd follow from the iPhone. Create an update notification area in settings and let it stay there. I don't need a nag screen every few phone unlocks. At least it's not as bad as when I had a Droid 2. With that thing literally I'd be prompted each and every screen unlock. Think I'm only getting it once or twice a day with my S5.
How do I get rid of this???? every time I swipe it away or clear it, it comes back! It just started this morning.
I dont use voice mail I use GOOGLE VOICE.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC M8 on Verizon. I have noticed that recently I've been getting notifications for Facebook that popup/show up at the top of the screen below the notification bar (a la Apple's iOS). It pisses me off, as it'll happen when I'm in games (covering up 1/4 of the screen) and it'll even show up when I'm in Facebook!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have no notifications in the drop-down menu and the green notification LED won't stop flashing when the screen is off. If I do get a real notification and clear it, then light will go away until the next reboot. I've done two factory resets and no change. I took the phone into Sprint this morning after a reset and no apps installed and the tech verified the problem but after a few minutes on the computer, he told me this was a known software problem and he can't do anything about it. I have spent most of today troubleshooting this and searching the internet and have yet to find any other Photon user with the same problem. I've seen some other posts with other phones (android and blackberry), but nothing that looked to be widespread and nothing by Photon users. I did find a way around this by rooting and installing an app that takes control of the LED but I shouldn't have to do this and the app seems to be a battery drain. I've since got rid of the app, unrooted and tried flashing the 1FF-sunfire-user-2.3.4-4.5.1A-1_SUN-154_5-CM-release-keys-signed-Sprint-US.sbf (old software from August) and the problem was still there. I then let the phone take the OTA updates and the problem persists. I didn't have this problem until I did a factory reset on Friday trying to get rid of another problem with rebooting.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently had to remove my MicroSD card from my phone and started running it just using internal storage. I cleared out a lot of apps and media to compensate for the lack of SD storage but since then I keep getting a "Low on Volume Storage" message.I have 2.92GB available space for application storage and 0.90GB in the internal storage - so there is a decent amount still available to the system and yet I keep getting a "low on volume storage" notification. It is infuriating because I already know what the storage situation is, but every time I dismiss the notification it reappears in a few minutes. Does any know if it is possible to just stop this notification from appearing without having to delete more things from my device?

The call notification icon will not disappear from the notification bar not even after restart or shut down.
I mention I have closed all apps from multi tasking and it still did not disappear
