Galaxy S5 :: Lollipop Update - No Longer Receive Notification For Text Messages
Sep 1, 2015
I had to update my S5 over the weekend and since the update I no longer receive notifications when I have a text message. All of my setting are set correctly. What can be done to fix this?
I have a galaxy s5 and just downloaded the new update. Before the update when I was in silent mode my phone would light up and then the LED light would flash when I got a text message. Now when I'm in silent mode nothing happens and I have to turn on the screen to see if I have a message. How can I change this?
Is there anyway to get rid of the 5.0 update on the notification bar? I downgraded back to 4.4.4 and this notification stays there. Now my husband has the S5 also but his never notified him that there was even an update but I sure would like to get rid of it on mine
My Nexus 5 phone is running Android 6.0.1, but shortly before that, I switched from a T-Mobile Prepaid plan to a postpaid plan and then, immediately back to a prepaid plan again. The thing is that I had a $30/month prepaid plan which is not available as a postpaid plan. But no one told me. They just said that I was eligible for a postpaid plan after 18 months. Of course, I jumped right back when they wanted to charge me $50/month. So that is what caused the texting trouble.
I just updated late night and now the volume rocker on the side only seems to change ringer and media. there is no option for notification. You have to go to the Settings>Sounds to change it. WTH. Is there an easier way? I am always changing it based on where I am.
Prior to updating to Lollipop I was able to easily adjust notification volume by simply touching the volume control on side of phone, then selecting the cog next to ringtone volume. That disappeared with Lollipop update. Is there any way to adjust notification volume other than going all the way to settings?
I am not receiving message notifications when I receive a new text messages on my Samsung Galaxy S5. How can I change this so it shows new messages on home/lock screen?
How to clear the system update notifications for Lollipop on both the lock screen and in the notification area at the top left of the screen. I'm not really wanting to update just yet.
I have recently changed to a Samsung Galaxy s6. I have a friend who has the s4 and every time i text her she does not receive my texts. I do receive her text messages fine it' s just when i send a message she doesn't receive it. I am able to call her fine.
I got a Samsung Galaxy S6 and I have to say, it's the worst cellphone I ever owned. I don't care about all the fancy stuff. I need a phone so people can call me and send me text messages. But that simply doesn't work. I never get phone calls nor text messages, when I restart the phone, I got tens of messages telling me about missed phone calls.
I just got my 1st smart phone: Samsung s6. Yesterday I texted my husband (he has an iphone), i didn't text him. I had ' failed to deliver ' messages. However, i can receive his text. I can't text out.
when i first got my phone there was no issue receiving pictures from my husband in his text messages to me. now when he sends pictures it just says "downloading" but nothing ever comes through.
I have a strange issue,if my phone hasn't sent or received a text for a few hours I am unable to send or receive text messages, turning on and then off aeroplane mode fixes it instantly. Its like my phone has "forgot" my network.
My phone will no longer make or receive calls and I can't text after upgrading to iOS 8.1.1. I've tried everything except chucking the phone out the window. I have reset it multiple times, turned it off and back on, reset the network settings, reset all settings, toggled the airplane mode switch, and done a complete factory restoration. What else is there to do? I can't get a new phone for another year.
I was able to send and receive text messages on my Samsung Galaxy SII which I have had since July 2012. I am on Bell network. A Bell customer service agent told me that Bell needs to update their towers to accommodate the programs that newerSamsung phones are using.
I am unable to send or receive multimedia text messages but I am able to connect to all my social medias just fine. I have plenty of data left and I am disconnected from my at home wifi.I've tried rebooting it and trying to send a multimedia message while connected to wifi and nothing has worked.
My Galaxy S5 was bought new and boxed on August 6th. After 5 weeks it started playing up as the ringtone would play over and over with every new notification (FB, Twitter etc) meaning I had to turn the phone off. A reboot and Zedge app delete sorted this out however now I find I cannot sent text messages but I can receive them. I can also post on all social media but not send a text.
I have twice restored the phone to factory settings which solves the problem for about a week, then it returns. I'm on 4G with Unlimited Texts and I'm not over my allowance. To date I have tried the following which didn't work....
* Switched the phone off then back on * Installed the latest software * Switched to Flight Mode then back again * Checked the text message centre number (+447782000800) is correct * Restored phone to factory settings (twice) * Removed WhatsApp * Removed all music and video media
I managed to get my text service up and running (so far) by clearing the message cache. Here is how to do it on Samsung S5 APPS - SETTINGS - scroll down to APPLICATIONS - APPLICATION MANAGER - scroll across the screen to the left to the 'ALL' menu - scroll down to MESSAGES - CLEAR CACHE. Finally re-start your phone to allow changes to take effect.
Why am I unable to receive text messages from my husbands phone (Samsung Galaxy SII)? We are both on the sprint network and I can receive text messages from everyone else, regardless of the carrier or phone. I love my iPhone but when I can't text the most important person I need to, it's just ridiclious!
Alright so I'm currently having issues with my phone as every time someone tries to call me, or send me a text message it doesn't go through. However, I'm able to call or send texts messages to them just not the other way around. The only temporary solutions that worked for me so far was restarting my phone but a few minutes later I won't be able to receive calls or texts again.
My Xperia Z3 Dual with KitKat had 2 buttons on the dialer app, one for dialing with SIM#1 and one for dialing with SIM#2. Now with the Lollipop update the dialer app no longer has this 2 buttons, and when I dial a number and then tap on the "send/dial" button it does not ask me to choose the SIM I want to use, it automatically uses SIM#2. Â When I tap on a contact a pop-up window ask me to choose the SIM card, but when I dial from the T9 pad this doesn't happen, it directly uses SIM#2.
I have recently downloaded the new Yahoo mail app and after doing so I no longer receive a notification that I have received an email. I use light flow and it is set up properly for all other notifications.
