BB Tour :: Flashing Notification Light Won't Stop
Nov 3, 2010A red light flashes 7 times every minute or so. I updated my phone 2 weeks ago and it has been doing it ever since. I have rebooted and it hasn't stopped.

Sep 30, 2012I can't stop the green LED light from flashing as it has been doing it for the last week and the battery is going down very fast. I have tried options and turned off the LED screens.

Jul 18, 2014So I just got the G3 yesterday and finally have it setup. I have noticed though that the notification light does not seem to be functioning. When i receive notifications there is no flashing, regardless of the type of notification. I know the light is not broken because it does flash blue when I knock on the screen, and it also lights red when charging. I downloaded Light Flow to see if I could force the light, but that does not seem to have worked either. I checked to make sure the notification light was set to on under the Display setting page.

Mar 10, 2010I have the new bold 9700, and I pulled the battery to reset the bb because it wasn't deleting pictures. The pictures were fixed but the LED light that flashes when there's an alert won't stop flashing. It flashes red several times then stops for a minute or two then flashes again. Does anyone know how to fix this so it will stop flashing? I've tried to pull the battery again and even just reset the phone but it won't stop its driving me insane!

Jun 14, 2010I hear a notify tone on my phone and the red light starts flashing, I check my sms, mms, email and there is no new messages. The only way I can get the light to stop flashing is a battery pull. Does anyone might know what causes this, and why I have to pull the battery to get the light to stop flasing?, Any suggestion are greatly appreciated.

Dec 16, 2011I was using my blackberry tour 9630 over two years and never had a problem. A couple of days ago I've connected phone to computer, check software update (it says your software up to date) recharged the phone and put it on the desk. Oddly enough it starts blinking like I have message, but phone did not turn on or off it just stop responding. The screen is black and when connected to computer through USB it's not recognized. Weather connected to electrical outlet or usb to computer it Flash red signal 10111 - one red , pause and three red. I've tried pulling out batteries, card, keep it for 24 hours without battery, nothing. Neither laptop nor pc recognise blackberry device. Bell offered "to take a look at it for about " 100 -150 $ without warranty that it will be repaired and I have only 6 month left on my 3 years contract. I've brought the phone to local wireless store and they try to flash OS through loader software without any success. I have two blackberries on my account, was happy with the phones, but now feel like smashing both of them. I don't know if I more mad at "Bell" who told me "product has 1 year warranty and now you are screwed" or at Research in Motion for their blackberries for which I've paid 400 $ upfront and 3 years contract (supposedly device cost over 600 $)

Nov 19, 2011I have no notifications in the drop-down menu and the green notification LED won't stop flashing when the screen is off. If I do get a real notification and clear it, then light will go away until the next reboot. I've done two factory resets and no change. I took the phone into Sprint this morning after a reset and no apps installed and the tech verified the problem but after a few minutes on the computer, he told me this was a known software problem and he can't do anything about it. I have spent most of today troubleshooting this and searching the internet and have yet to find any other Photon user with the same problem. I've seen some other posts with other phones (android and blackberry), but nothing that looked to be widespread and nothing by Photon users. I did find a way around this by rooting and installing an app that takes control of the LED but I shouldn't have to do this and the app seems to be a battery drain. I've since got rid of the app, unrooted and tried flashing the 1FF-sunfire-user-2.3.4-4.5.1A-1_SUN-154_5-CM-release-keys-signed-Sprint-US.sbf (old software from August) and the problem was still there. I then let the phone take the OTA updates and the problem persists. I didn't have this problem until I did a factory reset on Friday trying to get rid of another problem with rebooting.

Jul 8, 2010I use E66 and E52 phones. When I receive a new message, notification light starts flashing on both phones. It is OK. But... I often use Nokia PC Suite for managing my messages. When I read all new messages on E66, notification light automatically changes its self from flashing mode to "breathing". It's fine. But it doesn't work on my E52. When I read all new messages, notification light is still flashing (no "breathing"!) on E52. I read manual and I know that it is necessary to use my phone directly to stop flashing. Why (if all messages has been read)? I think, it correct works on E66. What is the problem? I use latest version of firmware and Nokia PC Suite (not OVI Suite!). I contacted Nokia HelpDesk, but they told me something like "it is not a bug, it is a feature".

Sep 15, 2011I am on a curve 8310 I think it is with an annoying flashing blue light. I think it's a cross between a white and blue as it's a pale blue light. I have turned off every notification I can find, email, text, facebook etc. I have deselected the LED option ( changed to none) I cannot figure how WHY this light keeps blinking. Jun 28, 2010When I plugged in my blackberry to the wall charger to charge, the indicator light will light up red for a few seconds then shut off, then it will light up again then shut off, keeps doing this, does this mean it is charging? I left it charging over night and tried to turn it on in the morning but it was still completely dead. Sometimes the charger has problems making a connection, and usually I can see when that is happening from the lightening bolt sign when the phone is on So I'm wondering if it was just because it wasn't making a connection before that it didn't charge and if the red light on and off indicates that it is charging or not?

Aug 30, 2012Okay so my blackberry curve 3G is relatively new, around 10 months. And today it was working fine, decent charge on the battery, when it decided to crash. I left it alone, and it still wouldnt respond. So i took the battery out, left it for 5 minutes, and put it back in. Usually, it automatically starts up, but this time there was no response. When i tried to turn it on, the screen stayed black, but the light in the corner came on red, for roughly 10 seconds, then turned off, and began to flash for around 3 seconds, every 10 seconds. ive tried plugging it into the computer, however it cannot pick it up, and if i try to install older software (downgrade it, which it recommends to do) it fails just before the end, every time.
