View 16 Replies View RelatedI got a used samsung 5 phone from tmobile because my original one broke. After a few hours, the phone became very slow and sometimes unresponsive. I tried to do a reset but then a warning came up, saying how the phone is a custom os and resetting it might cause damages to the phone. Is there another way to solve the lag on my phone or do I still proceed with the reset?
View 1 Replies View RelatedUpdated my phone when Lollipop came out. A lot of stuff started happening. My battery gets hot, battery drains fast, the GPS fails, and other odd things.
So I reset my phone and reseated my SIM card. Restarted my phone and now it won't reactivate on the Verizon network.
I always use my fingerprint as a password but for some reason that option has dissapeared and the only thing on the screen is the option to put it a password or emergency call. I don't remember my password and can't get in, i've tried restarting my phone, turning it on and off, and taking the battery out but its still like this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently factory reset my S5 and restored it. Ever since the phone can become unresponsive. It randomly goes to a black screen the multi window light and back up light both come on as if it is still powered up. Sometimes it comes back on but mostly I have to pull the battery. This happens quite a few times a day so annoying.

View 24 Replies View RelatedMessage "This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device."I have got a Samsung S6 SM-G920P Sprint with FRP Lock. The method is very simple - using OTG connecting a flash drive with downloaded app to a phone and then file manager will pop up, then just run app. The app basically just letting you get to phone settings where it will let to reset the phone and remove FRP Lock
Problem is that file manager wont automatically launch when i plug it in and so as far I understand the method doesn't work for most or all owners of Galaxy S6 and Note 5. I wonder if the file manager wont pop up after latest update or it was that way originaly? If it happened after update is there any way to flash earlier version? I tried ODIN to flash stock ROM but it fails and I am getting message SW REW. CHECK FAIL DEVICE: 3 BINARY: 2
I did restore to factory few times, last time - using Smart Switch. The phone has official Rom, not rooted..Or is there any other way to bypass activation to get to settings, other way remove FRP Lock?
I got a new phone and set fingerprint password. It didn't really work so I got rid of it and just used a PIN. Now that I got my scanner fixed I want to use it again but it needs the backup password which I don't have. I tried scanning my finger and it didn't work. It will not let me scan again and is asking for the backup password for it to be able to open. I am not locked out of my phone rather I just need the backup password to change some settings. I would like to know if there is a way to reset the backup password without resetting my phone and keep in mind I am not locked out and still have full access just not the backup password?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I just spent 2 weeks on vacation where she was happily snapping away millions of pics. She bought a new case for her Verizon S5, and in the process of swapping cases, somehow managed to factory reset her phone. So all of our vacation photos are gone. Her cloud storage is full, so nothing from the last 6 months was recoverable from the cloud.
My questions is, is there a way to recover photos from a factory reset? I'll root it, or anything else I need to do.
I activated my android device manager and reset the lock password using findmymobile but when I enter the password it says incorrect. how can I change the pin so I can open my phone?

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy phone has been playing up and generally malfunctioning lately. It seems to work fine for a day or so before freezing, and either rebooting itself or forcing me to manually reboot it using power + volume down. This seems to send it into a bootloop where it generally freezes during the Samsung animation with the pulsing squares. This sequence continues with me manually rebooting, also trying to boot to safe mode and to recovery and after various attempts, i successfully got into recovery without it freezing on the blue android.
I then decided to factory reset as a last option, having looked around on forums for solutions. However, I now do not know what to do as it seems to have frozen during the factory reset. I dont have screenshots but the script reads as follows :
dm-verity verification failed. . .
-- Wiping data. . .
Formatting /data. . .

My girlfriends S6 just magically reset itself. All her info is lost.
How could this have happened? Is it possible to accidentally hard reset a phone?
Does Google store all of your apps?
My quite new (3 weeks) S6 did a factory data reset on its own. It happened while I was driving for 2hrs on a highway, with the phone resting on the empty passenger seat, not touching the phone. Lost all data, all apps, all pics. Very frustrating. After 3 days of research (visiting Verizon store, calling Verizon, calling Samsung, internet research), the possible cause may the following:
About 2-3 hours before driving, the phone did a scheduled automatic update, which took more than 30 min to complete. This all happened in a signal-weak area. Tech support said, although the update completed, it may have had some flaws, and when the phone detects that, it may resort to a factory data reset to avoid greater functionality problems.
Unfortunately, the end result included functionality problems, most notably that the phone calendar only synched partially (!!) with my desktop Outlook calendar, and promptly I missed two important appointments.
When a scheduled update comes your way, make sure you backup all contacts, photos, data etc, before allowing an update to perform.
So I have a Samsung S6 Galaxy through Verizon. I also use the Message+ stock app that Verizon has placed on the phone.
My lock screen is disabled through a 3rd party app (No Lock), so when I previously received a text message, my screen would awaken, and a preview of said text message would show up in the status bar.
Now i had to reset my phone, and upon resetting, my phone will still show the blinking LED light, and make the sound associated with receiving a text message. However the screen no longer lights up, so now if i want to read the test message int the status bar, I have to hit the power button to light up my phone. Very annoying.
I have went through the settings where there used to be a checkbox that said "show preview in status bar and lock screen", but that selection no longer seems to be there. I will also say that if my screen is already awake (either if i'm currently using the phone, or the screen hasn't turned off yet), the preview of the text message DOES show up in the status bar.
I will use another app that just awakes my phone when a notification is received...but i don't want something that has pop-ups, widgets, and the like. I really just want my phone to awaken as it did prior due to the reset, without (seeing at least) any add-on's, etc.
I forget my keystore password. How can I reset it without reset the phone to factory defaults. I have an BB 9300.

Info:
iPhone 5, iOS 7.1.2
Yesterday, I went running with my Lumia 1020 listening to music and using the Runtastic app. The music stopped - I looked at the phone - it was turned off. I tried powering on, but to no avail. I should also mention that upon leaving, the battery was fully charged and this happened after some 20 minutes. When I came home, I immediately put the phone on the wall charger and expected it to power on after a while. I checked it after 3 hours and nothing, the phone was still stone-dead and what was even more worrying, completely cold - no heat-up from charging.
I tried connecting it to my PC - the computer didn't even recognize ANY device was connected to it. Just to be sure, I tried Nokia Software Recovery Tool, but sure enough, it was not able to detect the phone. The phone seems to be dead meat now, but when I put it on my desk wireless charging stand, the stand's indicator lights up, although the phone does nothing and stays that way.
i was on facebook and my s6 just randomly shut of and now all I get a a black screen with the galaxy s6 on the screen. I just purchased this phone back in September.

View 3 Replies View RelatedStarting yesterday, my GS6 wont "wake up". This has happened twice now. I have only had the phone a week and haven't done anything to it, root, etc. The only way I can get it back is to press Power, Home Key and Volume Down at the same time to reset the device...not factory reset, but reset as in Power Down and restart.
