I know some people are not aware that they can clear out cached data (for All Apps). Is it good to clear it out daily? I do realize that you may need to download the same data again say if you are using apps like Facebook and Zedge and many others.
I'm constantly battling low internal drive space on my Tab S (I'll NEVER buy another 16GB internal drive device), but this question should also pertain to my S6.
When I go into my "Storage" settings, I have the option to clear my cache with one click. I'd like to use this function to clear off my cached browsing, imgur, etc., but my concern is my games.
1) If I clear the cache, will I lose my saved game data? 2) Will I lose any settings for any apps?
I was experiencing sluggish performance on my s6, it was taking ages for my contacts to appear when trying to dial them, I fixed this by going on to apps>contacts>clear data and cached data. However it came at a price. many of my contacts have now disappeared. is there anyway i can restore them?
Upgraded today on work WIFI - went to amazon.com via Chrome on my S5 - his login data was there. Logged in, his CC information, address, etc. all accessible. He does not have access to my phone as I'm on a secure floor at work and my phone never leaves my pocket.
Has a solution been found which will allow clearing the cached email address entries on an iproduct? Deleting contacts, addresses and rebooting the device doesn't work. Restoring the device should not be the only solution as many business users don't know the first thing about iTunes or syncing thus most enterprise devices have never been sync'd.
I'm trying to clear my phone storage but it won't let me access the gallery?I have a fullstorage on my Galaxy S6 32G, and I'm really trying to clear a lot of photos which are about 6,000... the problem is, that every time I log onto the gallery app, it atomically tells me I have to clear my files and redirects me to the files app, where it tells me the same thing any time I click on any photo. It's telling me to clear filea while not allowing me to see any, how can I?
so I was going to buy gta for my s5 I started to download it but I did not know that it would take up 2.4 GB wile I had like 1 GB so I did not have enough space and I would just get an error so I deleted tons of apps till I got 1.2 something GB when I tryed to download the app again it said it was downloading and would take 2.4 GB but I had 1.2 so once it reached 1.2GB/2.4GB it gave the not enough space error so, I checked to see how much space I had, well... i had 109 MB... yep. GG google playstore. GG. so I refunded gta (gives my money back AND uninstalls it) and checked back at my storage... still 109 MB. How do I delete this 1.2 GB unfinished file off my phone?? I looked all over my phone and can't figure it out. I am rooted on s5 Verizon by the way.
I've been googling around and haven't found an answer on how the fingerprint data is stored on the phones and is it safe regardless of device encryption?
The S5 implementation of the data was horrible and Samsung is not to concerned it seems. At least Apple clearly outlines how and where the data is stored.
I have just upgraded from a Nokia N8 to an S2 and have been alarmed at how much data I am using compared to my previous phone. My email application used 373mb of data in two days just synching two Hotmail accounts, and I don't get many emails! My Nokia was set to use push email every 15 minutes and hardly used any of my 1Gb allowance on Virgin mobile UK. I have had to set my S2 to never synch and do it manually instead, which is rather annoying upgrading to a phone which can't do what my older one did perfectly, I am using the S2 's own data usage tool to monitor my usage,I assume it is accurate?
ay i have 2 active applications, do i have to go into the active applications page to clear to clear exit all applications !!what i mean is, if i go onto messaging then stop it it, still tells me on the home screen i have one active application, then i need to click on active applications and click exit
For the last 3 or 4 days my HTC One's BlinkFeed screen keeps failing to update. Even if I try to force it, nothing happens so I figure I may just need to clear its data as that seems to work with other apps, however I can't seem to find a BlinkFeed app when exploring the All Apps section of the device nor do I find some sort of clear cache option for it.
Added the Magic Jack to my I-Phone but that created problems between where it rang and router so I used the 'remove from this device' in notifications and then deleted the app.
I have a nother Magic Jack with a different phone number but now when I load the app with a new install it goes back to the to the old number and won't let me put in the different number. When I delete the app it says 'will delete all data. So is the app holding the memory or the phone?
I counted once because I was trying to figure out why my iPhone was full when it shouldn't be, iTunes says my apps take up 9 GB's of space. Could this be stuff my apps have downloaded or something that I'm unaware of? It seems like I should have more than 4 and a half GB's left of space. How do I clear that invisible data from the iPhone?
I'm selling my E63 and so want to clear all my personal data. Removed the memory card and SIM. Done "Restore factory settings" on the phone menu. Done *#7370#. But still when I go into the phone search function, I can find the headers and email addresses of all my old emails that were on there! How do I purge the search results or just properly get rid of ALL my data on the phone?
I set the option to keep my calendar data forever, but I've noticed it still clear out the older entries.Today is 7/15, and the oldest kept data was 6/26 and I've been entering data in the calendar since Nov 09...Anyone has the same problem or know how to fix it?
My wife lost her N95 phone a few months ago. Since she was very happy with that model, I bought her another one, second hand. However, it turns out that the previous owner used this phone to look at pornographic websites. These sites are still in the browser history. One wrong click and one of these dirty websites opens.I've tried to erase the browser history using the "clear private data" option, but when I select "Go to web address", it still displays a list of urls pointing to these bad websites.Any suggestions how I can properly clear the browser history?
Tonight I was in the gmail app doing a search through my work inbox. It showed me some results, but that wasn't old enough so I said "Load more". Repeated that step a few times and suddenly gmail crashed out ("Unfortunately, Gmail has stopped working"). Relaunching it ever-so-briefly makes the list of mail messages appear but then crashes again.
I completely powered off and rebooted - same thing happened when I opened gmail again.
I went into Settings -> Apps, selected Gmail and went to storage. Cleared the cache and then tried opening it -> same result.
Clear Cache, reboot before opening -> same result.
The Clear Data button appears enabled in the same green color as Clear Cache, however nothing happens when I click it. Clear Cache gets a shadow / ripple effect where I click it. Nothing like that on Clear Data, it's like it doesn't recognize it is "touchable".
I also note that when I go into the Gmail app (before going into the separate screen where Clear Data / Clear Cache are), that the Disable button and Force Stop buttons are both greyed out / disabled.
From the home screen, I tapped the button to bring up the list of open windows/apps and swiped Gmail off to close it that way, but again no change in behavior.
Phone is stock ROM. I did unlock the bootloader in anticipation of rooting it, but I ended up never going that next step and have just been taking the OTAs since then (am currently on 6.0.1, January 1 security patch level).
I have moved my images, videos, ringtones, music (not many) and some apps that are allowed, to the SD card. The image shows that the music, pictures, videos, and some of the apps (it should be lower than 1.99gb) is still there. Am I doing something wrong? Even the SD card information still shows the total space of nothing being added..
I had an iphone 4 that was 32 gigs and now am trying to restore my new i phone 4s that is 16 gigs. I think I may have too many pics to fit into the 16 gigs. Will this create problems restoring? Can I restore this new phone and leave the old pictures out?
I am having a hard time finding stuff to delete, because the System Data is taking up more and more of my storage. Is there any way I can reclaim most of it back? I transferred most, if not all, of the storage consuming apps to my SD card.
Are those two directories accessible without root? Yesterday I noticed that in any file manager both of those seem to be empty or in the FX File Explorer it was "Access was denied". I'm on stock 6.0
