I upgraded to Lollipop 5.1.1 recently using Sony updates. However I am having a strange problem now. The phone shuts down when pulled out of a power source though battery status is above 80%. If I plug back the phone into a power supply and restart, I am able to use the phone without any problem. Is my battery dead? It has been about 1.5 years now with this phone. Tried restarting in safe mode as well but the phone still shut down when pulled out of power supply.

My s6 has the bootloader g920idvu1a0e3 and this firmware is 5.0.2 official.
When plugged in , says battery temperature too low to charge. Is less than 2 weeks old, charged fine till last night, then did not charge. Have tried plugging n at different places tried portable charger, tried thru usb to computer. Just shows batteru at 39% and a thermometer with the red area partially up. and displays message battery temp too low to charge.

I was using the fast charger this time, but it seems to be random when it gets hot and little correlation to which charger I use. I've had it stay cool (80)on fast charge, get to 95 via USB to my work PC and all sorts of other combinations. Is there a pattern I'm missing or is it really as random as it seems.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI believe the on-screen message was close to the title example. Anyway, after draining the battery to around 25% (last used apps were instagram, snapchat, clash of clans, and nlf mobile) I plugged in to the charger that originally came with the S6. Within a minute I heard the "low-battery, please recharge" sound and saw the "Battery temperature is too high and will not charge" message. Then after doing the attempts below trying to troubleshoot, my phone is currently at 0% and unable to charge. The charger plug isn't even recognized without awkward positioning. The charger plug (and phone battery to a lesser extent) did often become hot when charging, but I never thought anything of it, as it seemed like a known/common occurrence among GS6 owners.
1. First reaction: unplug charger, use Advanced Task Killer, then wait couple minutes before plugging back in.
2. Soft reset through power button and Restart option.
3. Tried moving original charger to different wall outlets/power strips and using my old charger that originally came with a GS3.
4. Reboot to Bios screen (I think thats what its called), cleared cache, and restart.
5. Factory reset from Settings->Backup option
After the factory reset, the battery hit 0% during the initial set up. Strangely, when I tilt the charger plug upwards (slight downward angle going into port), the phone reacts as if recognizing a charger is plugged. This angle wasn't necessary prior to the "breaking," but by maintaining the angle I can keep the phone on while it goes through the initial startup (until it tries to find a network or search for updates, then turns off). I wanted to see if there were any possible ways of saving this phone.
Is there any app which we can use to adjust the r g b values for the display and adjust the color temperature of the screen? Anything similar to KCAL on Nexus 6. Any kernel/app will do.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been experiencing a rather annoying bug on my S6. After unlocking the screen, sometimes the status bar will not pull down. This happens about 1/5 unlocks. I have to lock the screen again and then unlock for it to work again. Since the status bar is usually the first thing I use after unlocking, this becomes a real pain. I was hoping that the recent update would fix this, but it's still happening.

It looks like the wallpaper is not extended upto status bar. I also noticed this issue on some apps (which works perfectly on my other devices), its only S6 having this issue.

Like when you use applications and they automatically turn the status bar black. Is there a system file I can edit to change the default color to something like a green when I'm opening certain applications that use the black bar? I really don't want to put up with seeing burn in where the status bar is in the main UI or watching videos or something like that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have rooted, de-bloated, and installed an LED notification manager, which has made my phone nearly perfect. The only lagging issue is the overly busy Status/Notification bar and drop-down. Things I would like to change:
Status Bar
- remove AM/PM from the clock
- remove NFC icon when active
- change battery status to something that takes up less space, the default is icon AND percentage. I'd ideally love to use the Circle Battery Mod.
Drop Down
- remove the brightness slider
- remove the "s finder" and "quick connect" buttons.

My fingerprint scanner is not working. I did a factory reset and cleared cache. I also got my home button changed for a new one (i thought it was scratched). Bit the problem still persist with another home button. Button was originally replaced under warranty, so it should have fingerprint reader in it.
I went to my phone dialer and typed *#0*# -> sensors -> fingerprint and i got this: none
When i click test sensor i get a crash.

The icon is near the Wi-Fi on the status bar, is like a sim drawing with dots on it. It is not the "no sim card..." it is similar to a storage card icon...

I achieved it to disappear on my home screen with Nova Launcher, but not my apps. My phone is not rooted, but I will root it if I have to. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy job requires me to take some shifts with a standby period from 4-7 AM in case an emergency happens, so I have to leave the phone on beside my bed, and it has to be audible.I plug it in so if I have to respond, I will do so with a full battery. Then inevitably after I have fallen asleep, two beeps wake me up to tell me the battery is charged. I ticked the box in settings 'no notification ringtone', but it did not seem to shut this off. can't imagine what idiot designer at Samsung thought that this would be a very important feature that we all must have, but it is driving me nuts.

I understand the main option to do that is changing the temperature control using developer codes. (the other option of changing to ART isnt available to me since i understand my phone already runs it).
The question is, i assume changing temp controls voids the warranty, and im not keen on doing this.
Today my iPhone 4 showed 'TEMPERATURE' - iPhone needs to cool down due to temperature. Anyone experiences this issue? I have the full BodyGuardz skin applied on it and was just using it as normal with email checking, web browsing, GPS with Copilot, but my phone was not used when I got a weird noise with the temperatue warning. I was inside my house with AC set at 76 degree when this happened. The phone did not feel warm at all. Please see attachment.
