Galaxy S6 :: Stock 5.1 / Rooted - Disable Clock On Status Bar?
Nov 19, 2015
I want to disable the clock on the status bar, I'm on stock 5.1 , rooted. I don't want to flash a rom just so that I can disable it, is there any other way. Nova launcher does it, but it's just in the launcher, not system wide.
I noticed the stock alarm clock seems very stripped down compared to the one on my note 3. Either that or I am not seeing the settings to change these things. Here are some things that are bugging me:
- when the alarm ring there are no icons that show snooze or cancel. (just an X in the middle and you can slide left or right but no icons telling you what they do.)
- When I turn an alarm on there is no pop up that tells me in how long it will go off. (Good for when you accidentally put the time in PM intead of AM you can catch it with the pop up.)
- When I turn the snooze button on in settings, I can not customize the 5- minute intervals it snoozes at.
Is there any way to change any of these??? They were in the stock alarm app for my Galaxy note 3 so I am wondering if maybe I am not seeing something.
List of apps safe to disable on stock S6 Android 5.0.2? I've found some on the internet and on the forum, but nothing specifically for Samsung/TouchWiz and nothing for Android 5.
I see that on the Android Market that there is an app called SDCardXD for Xoom which allows a US stock Xoom 3.2 to write to the external SD card; [URL] Info on the app states; "SDCardXD is a simple file manager with sole purpose of allowing stock U.S. Xoom owners to write to their external SD Card from their Xoom. NO ROOT is required and works on Xoom tablets running 3.2.x stock operating system. Select a file, select where you want to put it, and paste it there." Not knowing the exact difference between US and UK stock 3.2 do you think this will work on a UK stock 3.2 XOOM?
My phone doesn't boot up. This has been happening since the last 2 days. The first time it happened, i used Update Service and updated the firmware to the new 4.1.B.0.587. The phone restarted normally after the update but the phone was very laggy. And after sometime, the same issue popped up. The phone would start up to the black screen. Again I used Update Service to do a factory reset and reinstall the new firmware. Formatted the memory card too. Again this issue is there.
I called up Sony Customer Care. They asked me to use PC Companion and repair the phone software. I did that too. Still no luck..
I'm running stock 6.0.1 rooted with Xposed (only using gravitybox). When I do the double tap on power to launch the camera, nothing happens other than the power button functioning normally. It did work at one point but I'm not sure if it was an app, Xposed or a system setting which stopped this feature from working. I tried disabling Gravitybox but left Xposed itself still installed. I've also tried changing the "Power buttons locks instantly" setting under Security but that didn't make any difference either.
When I send an SMS message I get a clock face as a status indicator. I have sufficient battery power & signal Does this mean the message has not been sent?
My clock will randomly be tiny in the center of my screen, but when I press and hold it to re-size it's already as big as it will go? So I go small, then back to big to make it full size again
create a shortcut to the stock desk clock in ICS? I know I can go into Alarm & Timer-->Settings-->Desk Clock to trigger it but that is a lot of clicking for everytime I want it on. Reason being, I don't have a dock for my night stand and like to use the desk clock at night.I looked through the Android Market, eh...the Google Play store and found a lot of desk clock replacements but nothing that will trigger the one built into ICS?
I downloaded the Google calendar since I prefer that over the stock HTC one. However, I am still seeing meetings in the stock one show up in my notification tray when I swipe down.
I can't figure out how to remove this. Unchecked all calendars, turned off notifications etc.
I don't want other people to read my SMS when they holding my Xperia X10 Mini Pro in their hand.Is there any way I can disable SMS notification on the Status bar?
Any way to disable the limit of characters in a text message using the Xperia messaging app. Whenever I go over a certain number of characters, the app splits my text message into 2 or 3 SMS. So the person I'm sending it to receives 2 or 3 SMS instead of one. I had the same issue on my iPhone years ago, but Apple fixed it, so I can send super long SMS. Is there a way to fix this on my Z3?
Any one found a way (w/o rooting) to disable the stock music player? I discovered PowerAmp a while back while using my D1. It was rooted so it was easy to disable those apps that I didn't want to ever start. Now, that I have upgraded to the Bionic, I can't play/pause or forward/back using the volume buttons nor my BT headset without it starting the stock player.
I use GO SMS as my primary text messaging app. With ICS I had the ability to disable the stock text messaging app but after the Jelly Bean update, the disable button is now grayed out. Disabling the stock messaging app enabled me to access the GO SMS app from the lock screen as well as from the Circle widget.
I am currently on 5.1.1 stock with rooted and twrp installed. After flashing 6.0.1 official ROM via Odin will I retain ROOT and TWRP? If not then how can i get rooted and twrp installed?
I somehow managed to update via KIES but lost root. Can I re-root without screwing this KIES 4.0.3 firmware update? If so, How?Was GT I9100, 2.3.4 rooted stock XEU Now 4.0.3 XWLP7
I've got a problem with my new Galaxy S6 (G920F). Rooted - la Chainfire with Odin.
After this process the phone seem to work fine. But the x axis is inverted.
Means: If I want to go into appdrawer which is on the right buttom side I need to click at the left buttom.
I tried to change the DPI to 480 what worked fine (after the above mentioned problem). Now camera as well as my keyboard is way to small for the screen. I've already seen the problem with the camera and a black border but it didn't seem to have been fixed yet..
I got this phone as a gift, an SM-G920F. And it already has SuperSU in it when I got it. Which means it's already rooted if I'm not mistaken. I'm liking the phone and hoping to know more about it.
Anyway I discovered that you can only change the media volume with the rockers when a video or music is playing. And it defaults to ringtone otherwise. Same thing happens when the media pauses in the middle of playback. But I never change my ringtone volume. It's either on, off, or vibrate.
So I browsed the web for fixes. And found this app called Rocker Locker. I tried it but it was a huge battery drain, so it wasn't a permanent fix. I also found out that this behavior was changed in Marshmallow. Having the rockers change media volume by default.
Tried to check for OTA updates. But it said something about phone being modified. Which was lucky, because I've also read not to take OTA updates while rooted.
Long story short. How do I update from Lollipop to Marshmallow in a rooted phone?
So basically I rooted and wanted to get rid of some of the bloat, and I removed fb Instagram, the Google+, mag, news, movies and music apps because I never use them, but now when ever I use voice search, it fcs and I'm not really sure, I used titanium to remove everything, could it be because of the other apps i removed?
If i remove google app and reinstall it would that be a fix? I'm stock rooted btw.
