Galaxy S5 :: Turn On Location Service Automatically And Only When Checking For Weather Update
Jan 3, 2016I am not sure,but I think that before rooting and unrooting my Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos and installing a new firmware,with the power saving mode turned on,I could check for a weather information update without turning the location service manually on.
I suppose that the weather information service turned on the location service only for checking for weather information update automatically and then turned it off automatically again. And when I have pressed the weather update refresh button, it updated the weather information very fast. I would also like to add that the weather information,has been updating with no difference if the phone has been connected to a wi-fi network or 3G.
Is there a way I can get back that way of updating the weather information? That was only with the power saving mode turned on!

Nov 25, 2015I bought my S6 about 3 weeks ago. I was using it normally, but then I left it and when I came back it wouldn't turn on unless I pressed the volume down key too. After that it kept turning off after 15-30 minutes I turned it on, everytime, and then it simply wouldn't turn on whatever i did, even if a pressed all 4 buttons for 10 seconds. Then I simply pressed the power button and it turned on. It behaved normally for that whole day.
I went to sleep with 45% battery and it died. Again it wouldn't turn on unmattering what i did, and after like 5 hours i pressed the volume down and power again and it turned on (after many tries), wtih 27% battery - and it was always off, but after like 2 minutes it died again, and only turned on, after many tries, when I presed vlm dwn, power and home together, giving me the restart screen with 7% charge. (not that dos/cmd-like, with hard reset and all, only a custom os and restart). it worked normally (draining battery fast), and then shut down again, even if i was charging it, though the whatsapp green led is flashing, so i think it's not completely off.

Jan 11, 2015my phone other than recently the battery life has been pretty bad all of a sudden (I think it's my charger) , anyways I was outside taking a picture on my phone and as soon as it took the picture the screen went black and it was completely unresponsive, tried turning it on, reset, nothing worked. I took the battery out and back in and It turned on, BUT then my time and date was completely wrong and for some reason since the time and date was wrong it made my internet not work.

Aug 22, 2011So I live in Sweden and bough my phone in June. Had KE2 on it and wanted to update to KE7 with Kies but it wasn't available at the time, so I used a guide on this site to update it manually through odin.
Anyway after that I went away to a place with no good internet connection for 2 months and didn't really keep up to date with this site. Now I'm back home and want to root this phone to improve battery life and get the wiimote app to work.
1A. Since I updated to KE7 using Odin, and not Kies, is it dangerous to root the phone?
1B. Do I need to debrand and update through Kies if a new update is available?
2. Will the Wiimote app work if I root the phone?
3. Is there a guide to follow on what to avoid after rooting so I don't brick the phone?

The screen said if necessary remove battery etc and reconnect USB lead which is what I did.The phone is now dead other than vibrating as you turn it on. Jan 31, 2012This morning there was an software update on my xperia active, i clicked ok and it failed to download a couple of times, i figured maybe because i was downloading via wi-fi. i finaly downloaded it and then when finished it started to instal. after that my phone went into a "coma" it is non responsive, the only two vague signs of life is when i conected it to my PC and the little green light on the upper left of the screen lite up. but then the PC keeps making the plug-in plug-out sound and nothing happends, the other is when i press the on button on the phone that same green light flashes for a spit of a second and does not show up again. i've downloade SEUS and PCC tried to up date in both of them to update first and then to original setting and nothing, also tried the rapair, under softwear updates and nothing it takes for ever and and twice frozze in mid process.

Oct 4, 2015Yesterday I updated my phone. After the update I'm not able to start up the phone again. The black start screen (black screen saying SONY Xperia) pops up for a few seconds and then the phone turns off and starts up again with the same screen. It keeps doing this over and over again.
I've tried pushing the OFF butten/+vol button, but the same things happen when I try to turn if on again.

Feb 1, 2010its a rogers phone wich i unlocked to use on Fido. everything was perfect untill today i decided to uptade it to the new OS 5. everything went fine and then teir was a blackpage with blackberry writen on it it had a litle load icon moving when that over it restarted and turned on i then went to the browser (btw all this and it was still pluged via USB) the next thing i see is that it has turned off it had a red light on (wich untill now still is 15min have passed) what happens is that it keeps reloading that page with the blackberry writen and the white loading line thing but wont turn on (it wont go to the clock)

Mar 1, 2012I recently upgraded my Ray to version 4.0.2.A.0.62. Since the upgrade the Bluetooth doesn't turn on at all, just says "Bluetooth turning on" then reverts to an off state. Prior to the update it worked perfectly. Upgrade was done using PCC, no errors, but even so have tried several repairs since and still doesn't solve the problem. Have tried factory resets, rollback to the original version, Sony Update Service instead of PCC?

Mine does NONE of that.Holding down the power button does nothing at all. The phone shows no sign of life. The LED doesn't come on, the screen doesn't come on, nothing. It does nothing.The battery is charged (and I even left it charging for over an hour - during which the LED was STILL off) and it will not connect to any of the Sony Ericsson software on my laptop.

Apr 10, 2015I'd like to begin using Google Wallet on my Samsung Galaxy S5, but am having trouble getting the NFC function to turn on. Each time I try to turn it on, it seems to almost "freeze" while attempting to activate.
I've tried accessing from the notification panel and also directly through the settings. After I try to run the NFC on, the icon in the notification panel is only partially green, definitely not as green as the options that are on. After that, I can't even turn it back off. May 6, 2012The battery of my xperia mini pro got depleted during an update attempt, and since then it won't turn on, charge, nor be recognized by my computer through the USB cable connection. Hence the PC companion won't recognize it as well. It doesn't vibrate or turn any lights on, just gets a little bit hotter when connected for a long period of time.
