Is there a setting for this? Have my "car" fixed at the bottom of the screen and have the map turn accordingly, instead of my "car" turning on a simple satellite view? If not, what's the best alternatives?

I can play anything just fine(streaming music or MP3/FLAC/WAV files stored on the phone).When I'm listening to the car stereo itself(CD, FM/AM, etc), I usually leave the phone plugged in. If I want to use Google Maps voice navigation, I'll have to physically disconnect the 3.5m audio cable if I want to hear the voice navigation on my phone. (again, this is when I'm only playing a CD on the car stereo)Is there a way to get around this so that I don't have to plug/unplug in the aux input cable all the time?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running 5.0 on my GS5 with Google Maps 9.8.1, TTS enabled, US English, etc... (everything that I can think of) and when navigating, no street names are ever spoken. Only "Turn left", etc...
I'd like my street names back.
I'll use my GS6 as my GPS and while driving, the screen will rotate 180 degrees. I'm now looking at an upside down map. It's done this with Waze and Google Maps. After a while it'll do the same thing and flip back to rightside up. If I don't, I'll have to rotate the screen back to potrait mode before rotating it back to landscape. I've done some research on Google and haven't found any results, only that the GS6 Edge had a rotation problem, but it doesn't seem related. None of my other apps mimic this behavior.

I understand the maps don't support turn by turn voice guiding at this stage, but I thought ovi maps would at least be able to show a driving view instead of a birds eye view for navigation...Might be a bit of a lamens question, but if anyone could shed some light, I'd appreciate it. I'm in Australia and Sygic is not available. I'd purchase it if it was available.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this has been posted but, if you install Life In Pocket and start out on your destination, hit the BB button and choose BB Map Route. Once in BB Maps, click on the Start GPS Navigation, then the BB button, and choose track up. I put the zoom on 2 and it makes for a pretty good voice turn by turn free GPS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my S6 about 3 weeks ago. I was using it normally, but then I left it and when I came back it wouldn't turn on unless I pressed the volume down key too. After that it kept turning off after 15-30 minutes I turned it on, everytime, and then it simply wouldn't turn on whatever i did, even if a pressed all 4 buttons for 10 seconds. Then I simply pressed the power button and it turned on. It behaved normally for that whole day.
I went to sleep with 45% battery and it died. Again it wouldn't turn on unmattering what i did, and after like 5 hours i pressed the volume down and power again and it turned on (after many tries), wtih 27% battery - and it was always off, but after like 2 minutes it died again, and only turned on, after many tries, when I presed vlm dwn, power and home together, giving me the restart screen with 7% charge. (not that dos/cmd-like, with hard reset and all, only a custom os and restart). it worked normally (draining battery fast), and then shut down again, even if i was charging it, though the whatsapp green led is flashing, so i think it's not completely off.
my phone other than recently the battery life has been pretty bad all of a sudden (I think it's my charger) , anyways I was outside taking a picture on my phone and as soon as it took the picture the screen went black and it was completely unresponsive, tried turning it on, reset, nothing worked. I took the battery out and back in and It turned on, BUT then my time and date was completely wrong and for some reason since the time and date was wrong it made my internet not work.

It turns while a route search is made, but not otherwise. Its was a cool feature which was available in ovi maps 3.0. In 3D mode this was really cool. I wonder why nokia scrapped this useful feature. Anyone had similar issues ?I own Nokia 5800XM, v40.0.005.

Google Now works without the Ok Google command,it recognizes my location the problem is that the cards don't show up and I'm unable to turn it on. Location is turned on btw Also device is not rooted...

After this update when I open the Maps and select Settings and Navigation (to change i.e. voice), Maps closes automatically without any error messages. I can open all the other settings sub-menus. Rooted Nexus 5 running stock 4.4.4 . Until now I've had Bluetooth turned off to save battery but I now want to use it in my car. However it is grayed out in the phone settings and will not turn on. If I select to turn it on in settings, it switches to a grayed out "on" (see screenshot) and 2 seconds later goes back to off. I've checked my apps such as xprivacy, etc. and cannot find a reason for this.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm using my nexus 5 for last one year and recentlly updated to latest lollipop version(5.0.1). From Sunday I'm facing a screen lock issue. All of a sudden after a phone call my device din't turn on if i press the power button(unlock). The screen becomes completely blank with mild white background. Even if incoming call comes the screen wont turn on and I cannot take calls as the touch is also unresponsive. The only option is to shut the phone down by pressing all the three buttons(Power,Volume up, Volume down). And again boot the mobile using bootloader "start" option. Once it comes back up , its working as usual. As soon as the screen gets locked, I have to repeat the same thing as it won't unlock. Tried a complete factory reset using recovery mode . The issue still persists. I cannot use my mobile for anything.
