View 10 RepliesMy nexus 6 recently got updated to 5.1.1 and I noticed that now is going extremely dark when I turn on the Adaptive(automatic) brightness. Been using it for a month now and never had this issue, but now is going really dark...
View 9 Replies View RelatedIm getting terrible slow wifi speeds, and my notifications are extremely delayed compared to my other phones. we are talking 1-2 mins.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI replaced myself the screen (preassembled screen+digitizer+frame). After the replacement everything worked perfectly for like two hours when i rebooted it, from then on it is extremely laggy and stutters from boot animation, and when I press the power button (or when the screen shuts down), the phone itself shut down. In bootloader it doesn't seem to have problems.
I checked every connection inside the device (I've disassembled ad reassembled it several times).. thinking of a software problem, I've flashed marshmallow stock rom frist, and kitkat 4.4.4 then... but it's the same with any factory image.
with a lot of patience I set up a google account and downloaded cpu-z to see if maybe temperature sensor where giving wrong information to the system, but they're fine and everything seems to work propely aside from the stutter.
Recently sometimes my Nexus has been charging extremely slowler than usual. Its so bad now that while in use and plugged into charge, its losing battery. Was 19% when I plugged it in now its 16%.
I tried rebooting to see if it was a bug showing the wrong percentage on the bar but that didn't work.
I bought the device mid December last year, direct from Google. Is this something I should seek a replacement over?
Just got the update for marshmallow and it has been loading for over 3 hours now, with the little android guy and blue bar. what can i do?

View 3 Replies View Relatedfully charged Nexus 5 turned off itself won't turn on. Lately music stopped playing randomly especially when phone shaken( eg. when I run), voice commands "OK Google" turns on randomly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRooted Nexus 5 running stock 4.4.4 . Until now I've had Bluetooth turned off to save battery but I now want to use it in my car. However it is grayed out in the phone settings and will not turn on. If I select to turn it on in settings, it switches to a grayed out "on" (see screenshot) and 2 seconds later goes back to off. I've checked my apps such as xprivacy, etc. and cannot find a reason for this.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using my nexus 5 for last one year and recentlly updated to latest lollipop version(5.0.1). From Sunday I'm facing a screen lock issue. All of a sudden after a phone call my device din't turn on if i press the power button(unlock). The screen becomes completely blank with mild white background. Even if incoming call comes the screen wont turn on and I cannot take calls as the touch is also unresponsive. The only option is to shut the phone down by pressing all the three buttons(Power,Volume up, Volume down). And again boot the mobile using bootloader "start" option. Once it comes back up , its working as usual. As soon as the screen gets locked, I have to repeat the same thing as it won't unlock. Tried a complete factory reset using recovery mode . The issue still persists. I cannot use my mobile for anything.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAm I the only one experiencing problems with ok Google while my phone is locked? Google simply will not open and carry out commands from a locked screen. It refuses to set timers and it won't even turn on the flashlight. I have selected personal options in settings and I also have 5.1.1. I was hoping the update would fix the issue.
I am using the Google Nexus 6 on T-Mobile.
I have no signal, I can't turn on radio in the hidden settings (*#*#4636#*#*) and I can't change preffered network to 2g nor 3g.
I have flashed different radios, flashed several factory images (4.4,5.1.1,5.0) but I have the same problem. One thing though, when I'm on 4.4 it says the radio is on in the hidden settings (still no signal) but I can t' turn it off. Is this a software or hardware problem?
I have a tmo n6, rockin' 5.1 m build. How do I turn on WiFi calling?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe only way I can turn on my Nexus 5 now is using adb and a computer. Is there a way to possibly turn on my phone on the road? Without the use of a computer?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there such an application to do this? Nexus 6 double tap to turn on or off?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought a Nexus 5 at the weekend and I can't stop it from vibrating when a call or SMS comes in. I have a vibrate off in settings > sound > call and ringtone vibrate and also in Hangout settings but it vibrates anyway.
I've posted screen shots below showing my settings. Regardless of this it's vibrating anyway.
Yesterday my Nexus 5 turned itself off and since then i can't get it back on. (Still got enough battery left then). When I try to start my phone with the power button nothing happens, and also when I try it with different combinations in buttons it won't start. Now, when I try to charge my nexus everytime the google logo shows up and it shuts itself down, this happens over and over again... as long as the phone is plugged in (same with usb connection on pc).
When I Try to do it in bootloader it shows up one second and shut itself off again. The device is/was rooted, I have to say that I did an update and after that it was half rooted I guess I don't know but for three days there stood a new update, but i never did it...
I have had my Nexus 6 for a while now and haven't had any problems with it. But since updating android to 5.1 I can no longer turn on my screen during a phone call. I can't hang up, hit any numbers or anything else. I changed the setting so when I hit the power button it ends the call. But I am still left with the problem of not being able to hit any keys so I can't check my voicemail anymore. I tried doing a factory reset and I am still left with that same problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo in the process of attempting to fix my nexus 5's issue of saying "cannot mount cache" during a factory reset in recovery mode, it completely stopped turning on. However, when I connect it to the computer, my computer still makes a sound indicating a new device has been connected.
The device will not show anything on the screen at all. I've tried holding power, power+volume down, and power+volume down+volume up multiple times and nothings worked.
Something strange happend to my Nexus 5. I can't turn it OFF, boot into bootloader, custom recovery, factory reset, nothing. My phone is on now and everything is working (charging is working too). I am on Pure White ROM on android 5.0, build LRX21O with franco kernel.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or does WiFi turn off when you get an incoming phone call? When I am at home, I am hooked up to wifi. When I get a call on my N5, I can see the wifi disconnect, it connects to LTE, then the phone rings. When I hang up, WiFi will reconnect.
View 6 Replies View RelatedA few weeks after installing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update, I began having issues with my Nexus 5. When I go to turn on the Wifi in the settings menu, the toggle switch is grayed-out and I can't use it. Instead of the phone finding connections, I just get the constant dialogue that says "turning wifi on." This just stays like that and I can't use any wifi functionality. I've tried fixes like installing custom ROMS (I tried Paranoid Android and CyanogenMod). I tried rebooting and factory resetting. I even called Google's customer service line and they were unable to fix the issue.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have google nexus 5 32gb and recently i my phone has started behaving very weird. My phone batter died and it switched off and after a few moments when i reached home i plugged in a charger and my phone wont show me charging sign nor it will turn up so i left it on charge for a couple of hours and returned to try the same switching on method and still it wont turn on. So started googling this problem and i came across a forum where it showed me to hard booth by pressing the volume down and power button.
Magically it did not work for me so i made an appoint to go and see LG Service Store and suddenly my phone turned on so i thought the problem was solved untill it happened again and again and again so now if my phone switches off i am not very sure if it would turn back on. As this is a very random problem and i am unable to solve it while the phone is on and if i charge it before the battery reaches the critical levels and shuts on its own i am just fine.
What can be the issue as battery works the whole day of medium to low use and also other hardware happens to function well without any hanging complaints. Also my phone randomly switches off if i am playing some game as it gets heated and the same story of phone not booting.
My phone recently today just randomly turned off. I thought it was my charger that wasn't working, but I tried using my friend's charger and it was my phone that wasn't working. I tried charging it again, but now it just shows "Google" and turns off again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to manually turn on USB debugging (to access files on phone through update thru ADB mode in recovery options, I can install the driver for the phone but won't work until USB debugging is turned on) while my phone cannot boot into the OS. Is there a secret way to turn on USB debugging through recovery mode? (I do not want to wipe the data, and phone unfortunately is not rooted)
View 2 Replies View RelatedWas on my Facebook app checking a Notification when suddenly the buttons to return to home screen, back and move between currently running apps stopped working. It is not unusual sometimes the touch screens don't respond and the easiest fix would be to press the power button to go to the lock screen and come back. When I tried turning on the phone to unlock it, it never turned back on.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI thought we would be able to but maybe not? Any app that looks like stock that may be able to do this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe thing is that whenever I go inside the range a previously accessed wi-fi network, my N5 will only connect to it when I turn the screen on. For example, when I come to my office or my house, it's only when I grab the phone and turn the screen on that I see the device picking up the connection. That's regardless of how long I've been there and how long has the phone been inactive. It also happens when momentarily going outside the range of the router, like going to the bathroom and back in my office. I was told that it's because the phone goes into deep sleep quickly and stops scanning for connections.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to find the setting on how to turn gmail cards on. I'm not sure if it's just on or what but I do not see the setting anymore in Google Now's settings. I only see "Sports teams", "Stocks", "Places", "Everything else" (which only has 4 settings, and gmail not being one of them).
How to turn this on? I'm presuming it's not working because my package tracking cards haven't been showing up.
I just bought a Nexus 5 a week ago, its not rooted and runs Lollipop 5.1. After I've setup everything, I noticed whenever I turn off WiFi or leave the range of my WiFi, the cellular data doesn't kick in automatically, simply displays an exclamation mark on the network icon. I need to go into settings and tap on the access point in order to have the cellular data started. It's been very inconvenient.
