Galaxy S5 :: Turn On Location Service Automatically And Only When Checking For Weather Update
Jan 3, 2016I am not sure,but I think that before rooting and unrooting my Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos and installing a new firmware,with the power saving mode turned on,I could check for a weather information update without turning the location service manually on.
I suppose that the weather information service turned on the location service only for checking for weather information update automatically and then turned it off automatically again. And when I have pressed the weather update refresh button, it updated the weather information very fast. I would also like to add that the weather information,has been updating with no difference if the phone has been connected to a wi-fi network or 3G.
Is there a way I can get back that way of updating the weather information? That was only with the power saving mode turned on!
IPhone :: Will Not Turn On Unless Plugged In - Even Then Says No Service
Apr 16, 2012I dropped my phone earlier and now it will not turn on unless plugged in, even then it doesn't work properly. When I plug it into my wall charger it says no service and wants to be connected to itunes but when I do connect it to my laptop the apple sign comes up for a couple of a seconds then disappears again. If I unplug it the phone turns off!

Apr 1, 2012Ive had this iphone for about 2 years. It is in perfect condition. i was using it all day the day it started messing up. I was taking pictures and i was uploading them to facebook. My facebook became slow and not working right so i restarted my iphone and all of a sudden in the corner it says NO SERVICE. I wasnt really trippen about it because i have a prepaid sim card in it that i havent paid in 2 months or so. But it shortly turned off and turned back on by itself. It was doing that until the battery died all the way. That was when i got kinda scared.Today i plugged it into Itunes and restored it. it still says no service. but it hasnt turned off yet. Im waiting for it.I absolutaly have not dropped it in water so it cant be water damage.

It just seems to connect whenever, even if I'm not expecting it, I don't have a data plan and don't intend on having one.Is there anyway to set it use use Wifi instead? Nov 25, 2015I bought my S6 about 3 weeks ago. I was using it normally, but then I left it and when I came back it wouldn't turn on unless I pressed the volume down key too. After that it kept turning off after 15-30 minutes I turned it on, everytime, and then it simply wouldn't turn on whatever i did, even if a pressed all 4 buttons for 10 seconds. Then I simply pressed the power button and it turned on. It behaved normally for that whole day.
I went to sleep with 45% battery and it died. Again it wouldn't turn on unmattering what i did, and after like 5 hours i pressed the volume down and power again and it turned on (after many tries), wtih 27% battery - and it was always off, but after like 2 minutes it died again, and only turned on, after many tries, when I presed vlm dwn, power and home together, giving me the restart screen with 7% charge. (not that dos/cmd-like, with hard reset and all, only a custom os and restart). it worked normally (draining battery fast), and then shut down again, even if i was charging it, though the whatsapp green led is flashing, so i think it's not completely off.

Jan 11, 2015my phone other than recently the battery life has been pretty bad all of a sudden (I think it's my charger) , anyways I was outside taking a picture on my phone and as soon as it took the picture the screen went black and it was completely unresponsive, tried turning it on, reset, nothing worked. I took the battery out and back in and It turned on, BUT then my time and date was completely wrong and for some reason since the time and date was wrong it made my internet not work.

My S6 Edge on 5.1.1 has been steadily increasing it's consumption of background data with this service over the last month and it's currently sitting at having used over 1.7GB.
My friend's Galaxy S4 on 5.0.1 is experiencing almost exactly the same data consumption over the exact same period of time. Something is deffo up with this but what it is.
Some old solutions I've read online include disabling background sync etc. but this isn't a solution and doesn't explain what it had been fine up until this month.

Aug 18, 2010I got my torch 9800 on launch day. i loved this device and definately felt like i was upgrading from my old device (iphone 3g). as much as i love the capabilities of the device i have run into a few issues, specifically network issues. it all started on sunday when all of a sudden i lost connection to the blackberry servers(the little logo in the corner was gone..) i went to at&t on monday and they could not figure it out. apparently my service book for the blackberry internet service got deleted(i didnt even know what a servicebook was lol) so i went home later that night and downnloaded the at&t software and reinstalled the os and this worked. then all of a sudden today, my fb was acting up, so i deleted the app. then i lost the connection again... do you guys have any idea what could be causing this? im currently reinstalling the os as i write this.
