Galaxy S5 :: Have To Double Tap Letters To Show Up In Text Messages (4.4.4 KitKat)?
Feb 9, 2015So, I just had to update my phone & I absolutely hate all the changes. For once, when I open up a text message & begin to reply, I always have to hit the letter key twice before it actually appears in the message box. If not, the first letter I type is always left out.

Apr 1, 2010I am using the latest 2.1 ovi suite and the other day I went to sync my contacts and ended up having a lot of duplicates on my phone (nokia 5800), I logged into to ovi via the web and saw that all these contacts were duplicated on the website, I was wondering how did this happen?, and also is there anyway I can set it so that when I syc my contacts it updates them from the phone to the web, but it doesn't touch the contacts in the phone??
P.S. is there away to delete all the phone contacts on the ovi web page, I can only see an option to delete them one by one!!

Feb 19, 2014I switched my default text app to Handcent and I also use hide it pro.
Now whenever I get a text message on hide it pro I receive it twice.

Aug 8, 2011Am I the only Droid 2 who is sending double txt messages? And I think it know why its been doing it on the two phones I've used. If you start a message with the touch screen, you get lazy and open the keyboard and finish the message. Close the screen after you click send. 75% of the time you will send a double text message.

Aug 5, 2015I have a Galaxy s5 which I bought from Sprint and my screen has turned black and nothing I have tried fixes it. I already bought a new s6 but now I want to recover my messages, contacts, and pictures from my old phone. My s5 is already n usb debugging mode but since it is rooted I have to click allow to use any third party app to recover my files but mt screen has zero functionality. Mar 11, 2015I am trying to set up double twist on my new s5, so I installed and found when I was syncing the music from iTunes I ran out of hard drive space on the phone. I purchased an SD card, transferred music files over to it, but I now have a new problem.
When I go to sync double twist again, it attempts to rewrite all of the files to the main hard drive instead of the SD card, in effect duplicating all of the files. Is there a setting I can change to force the files to write to the SD card?

Jun 15, 2015I updates my s5 to lollipop over the weekend.When in messages if i lock the phone, its makes the sound screen goes black and makes the sound again. If i hit the lock button again it opens straight into the messages.If i lock again the samething happens. If i hut the home button it opens straight into messages again. Only way to get it to lock is to exit the app to home screen.

I was looking through my settings and was trying to test out a feature, forget exact feature but it either involved hitting the home button 3 times or it was holding the home and volume down buttons at the same time (I am guessing it was some combination of these two that activated my issue). I can not remember the exact feature as I was fiddling through the entire Settings menu for awhile before this happened . Regardless of the feature, I somehow managed to put my phone into a mode where everything requires a double tap to select and it has made using the phone near impossible.
When I attempt to tap something, lets say the Google toolbar for example, I get a blue box that surrounds the selected item and I get a vibration (that didnt happen before) & nothing happens. Unless I do a rapid double tap the app/icon/whatever will just become highlighted. Once I do the double tap and manage to get Google Now open, it becomes impossible to input text, it seems the double tap sometimes will select a letter, but it takes multiple attempts to even get the letter to register and by the time it does i end up with 4 of the same letter.
Oddly if i just single tap a letter or tap on a blank area of my home screen, I get what feels like a quarter powered vibration. This issue extends to every input on the phone, and when I say that everything requires a double tap I do mean EVERYTHING - I had to type this message with my fiances phone because I could not even manage to type it out on my own phone. I can not even manage to bring down my notification pullbar from up top because it ALL requires a double tap!
How to get rid of this and revert back to normal? I would prefer if I did not have to perform a factory reset...

Feb 6, 2015I started google calendar notifications to my email before I had a smart phone.... on my old Galaxy S4 I didn't have this problem. I have my default set up to send email (was supposed to be only to my computer) days before and hours before as a reminder. Now that I have my GS5 phone and have sync'd it with my calendar I get double notifications for some things and I cant get it to turn off. I dont want to turn off all my notifications? I turned off my email notifications on my phone but that doesn't stop me from getting double Notifications Texts and sound?

Nov 24, 2011Love the phone - just got a really irritating problem. I've synced my phone with my gmail account - the My Contacts list has my key contact email addresses. Then I have multiple groups within gmail account relating to work emails etc, nearly 500 odd.
On the phone, when I click my 'Contacts' button, initially it showed all my phone number contacts, as well all google email contacts mixed with them. I corrected this by going to 'display options' to select 'display only contacts with phone numbers', so that I didn't have to trawl through random email addresses mixed with my proper phone contacts. Great, sorted.
But, when I go to compose a text message - if it is to one or two specific contacts it is fine...I just type their name and it comes up. If I want to scroll through all my phone contacts to send the same message to multiple contacts, big problem - I press that envelope button in the top right corner next to 'enter recipient', and it takes me to the Contacts list, but here it still shows ALL 600 odd contacts with phone contacts still mixed with google email contacts, which is impossible to scroll through and select multiple people to send a text message to....Does anyone know how to sort this out?!??!

Apr 5, 2012Ok, so when I am in the compose message view I start typing a name to send a message to and the phone shows me all numbers for that contact, even if I deleted that number... for example say my contact Lewis upgrades and gets a new number, I edit his contact, deleting the old number and replacing it with the new. Then when I type LEW into the compose message "to" section it shows all numbers ever stored under that name, if you know what I mean..? So i am typing someones name getting multiple numbers even if they only have 1 number to there name.This also seems to be the case if someone registers a number to FB and I overwrite that number with a new number
