I have a new phone. AT&T couldn't add my Droid Maxx to their service, so now I have a phone, with contacts from google, but the contacts don't have any phone numbers even though on a computer I can clearly see the phone numbers. Need transferring contacts from google to galaxy s6 contacts. With out phone numbers, and phone isn't really a phone.
View 3 RepliesI've done everything that I have read online, and everytime I go to the facebook app settings, it already shows that facebook contact is checked to not sync, yet i have about 500 extra contacts and pointless facebook emails in my phone that I don't want--nor do I want to spend 5 hours doing so to delete them.

At girt it was just my Google contacts, every so often they wouldn't sync and when I went to setting it would give a sync error message for my Google contacts. Then I noticed my Outlook app wasn't syncing, only after I opened the app. Now the same is happening with my Yahoo email app.

But what if I decide to switch to a non-Samsung device? How do I take the contacts from Samsung Account and at least copy them to Google account?

I don't want to use my gmail account to hold all my contacts because I used Outlook.com for emails. If i were to ever make a new contact on my phone, it then wouldn't sync with my windows live acct. Am I missing something?I should just be able to hook up my email on my phone and have it sync everything, not just email
View 7 Replies View RelatedI had a GS5 and I was able to sync facebook contacts to my device contact list with ease. However, I can't do the same with my GS6 Edge. Going to accounts-> facebook, only shows my account with a gray "refresh" bar saying " sync turned off" and it gives me no option to turn it on. Master Sync is turned on, and Sync from the main pulldown bar is turned on as well. I'm getting ready to chuck this phone at the wall cuz Im so frustrated. This was not an Issue with my GS5.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLove the phone - just got a really irritating problem. I've synced my phone with my gmail account - the My Contacts list has my key contact email addresses. Then I have multiple groups within gmail account relating to work emails etc, nearly 500 odd.
On the phone, when I click my 'Contacts' button, initially it showed all my phone number contacts, as well all google email contacts mixed with them. I corrected this by going to 'display options' to select 'display only contacts with phone numbers', so that I didn't have to trawl through random email addresses mixed with my proper phone contacts. Great, sorted.
But, when I go to compose a text message - if it is to one or two specific contacts it is fine...I just type their name and it comes up. If I want to scroll through all my phone contacts to send the same message to multiple contacts, big problem - I press that envelope button in the top right corner next to 'enter recipient', and it takes me to the Contacts list, but here it still shows ALL 600 odd contacts with phone contacts still mixed with google email contacts, which is impossible to scroll through and select multiple people to send a text message to....Does anyone know how to sort this out?!??!
I have been using AdGuard to see if it improves my web browsing and battery life of my phone. I made an interesting discovery. Google Contacts Sync app was near the top as far as ads blocked. It has blocked over 600 ads so far.

Previously it was synced to another Gmail account. Even though the phone said all has been synced (to the new Gmail), nothing appeared when I login to the new Gmail account contacts.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOn my old SGSII I had the option to sync contacts from Facebook and it did a pretty good job of matching names so my contacts would have their avatars from Facebook matched with their emails, phone numbers, etc.
This is my first Nexus and I guess the option just isn't there. But what's the best way to sync FB contacts? I see there are a few apps available but some are reviewed to be buggy.
Or am I just missing it? I just want to see my fb friends' profile pics pulled into the Contacts app, like with every other Android phone I've had...

I have a Nexus 6 that I absolutely love but I've just updated it to Lollipop and now my Gmail and Google Contacts are not syncing automatically. I've gone through all the settings about a million times and everything is setup properly. I'm currently using an app called Force Gmail Sync to keep my Google account synced up . It works great but I'd prefer to just be running Google apps on my phone and keep everything stock. I've tried a factory reset with no luck. Any secret way to set a sync frequency for Google's Gmail and Contacts apps without using a third party app?

Wasn't difficult on my Note 4 but can't seem to figure out the best way to do this on the S6. Is there a certain contact manager that will import them from her phone and then export them correctly? Contacts+ doesn't seem to work worth a crap for this.

All the pictures from my Nexus 5 are on Google Photos. I have Google Photos selected under my sync options for my account, but I can't seem to get them on my phone. I would like them on my phone so that I can select them to send to people and such in my gallery when I want to send an image using Google Messenger or something.
I was also wondering if there was a way to use my contact pictures from google or other places (Facebook maybe) on the S6 stock Contacts app.

I've worked out how to manually sync contacts profile pics from FB onto my contacts list, but it won't let me do it on my own contact details. I would like to sync my contacts but currently have that setting turned to "off" because I want to add my Outlook contacts but not lose my contacts on my phone. If I sync the contacts will it just add the new ones and not overwrite the existing contacts on my phone?

One funny thing about restoring contacts after device factory reset on the S6 is that the contacts restored are not from my my G4 it's from my older device, LG G2. So I lost some contacts which I added during my short ownership of my G4. My Android Device Manager shows that I have G4 on my device list, but when I tried to recover the contacts the S6 notifies me that I last updated 6 months ago... That cannot be right... As I just back up all my google account contacts just before I wipe my G4.

My issue is searching contacts. Many of my contacts have both a name, and a company. When searching on my phone, some will search by the name, and some by the company. I need to it search by both. My BlackBerry did that no problem.
I have lots of contacts where I know the company but can't remember their name. And vice versa. I have no way of finding them on my phone if it's searching by name only.
