Eseries / Communicators :: My E72 Freezes / Crashes When Receiving SMS
Feb 4, 2010
Very often when i receive an SMS , my E72 freezes. The only way to recover from this is to turn phone off and on again. It looks like it happens when the sender is not in my phone-book .. and there is only a 'number' mentioned in 'From'.
(although i still can't update .. because the update for Vodafone branded phones is not available yet ... another BIG let down if u ask me .. Nokia should control this better).I don't know where I can report this problem. Nokia Care employees only know whats in their calling-script.
I just updated my Nokia E6 to Symbian Belle. When I try to edit the EAP-PEAP settings for my corporate WPA2 secured network, the settings simply crashes and returns to the home screen.
Came back home and rebooted it while it was connected to the charger. Now it won't start. It starts to boot, plays the Nokia hand shake video clip then freezes. I've tried rebooting it while the charger is connected, removed the battery, put it back...everything! Seriously. This is a new phone.Language edited by a moderator. Please show some respect not only to Nokia but also to the user(s) who came here seeking a workable solution for the problems with their Nokia devices.
just got my nokia e5 for less than a week now, and i've noticed a couple of times that while i'm in the middle of an internet session my phone just freezes and then reboots by itself.
I'm currently using E72-1 , V 031.023 Alot of times, when i get an incoming calls, my phone freezes once i click the accept button, it freezes for like 20 seconds, then either accepts the call, or hangs up. Also, when i dial a number using the keypad, there is a delay, like, it takes 1-3 seconds between each number i press to display on the screen. I tried soft resetting, hard resetting, both fixes the issue for the 1st few hours, then both issues happen agai
E72 suddenly does not vibrate or gives out a tone upon receiving a SMS.I checked the profile I used and the vibration and message tone were checked.I tried restoring the phone to factory settings but the problem still persist. Not sure where the problem lies though. When people call me, my phone does vibrate and the ring tone plays.
I recently got the E7-00, everything is good except When i use ovi suite or other application to connect to the internet, i cant receive calls(service provider deems that i am unavailable), once i disconnect internet connection i am able to receive calls again, i never had this problem with my n95 or my e75
Bought my first nokia phone for 9 days and already has several problems. Starting with what is most urgent. Already after 3-4 days disappeared suddenly able to receive mail from my hotmail account, but luckily came back later in the day! So on Friday I got an email from nokia with the text below. I have accordingly made the following (but without result).First I tried to follow the recipe that is in the mail as described below. I first went into hotmail via my computer and changed the password. Then I went into settings on the phone and changed the password there without success. Then I tried to go into the settings in the phone and reset phone to factory mode 3-4 times then use the built-in wizard to configure my hotmail account and wait for the result without success.
I receive e-mails that are written below in Norwegian every day. When I go into the e-mail on mobile phone brings up the yellow / green circle in the corner which I interpret as if everything is ok with connecting to hotmail. But that is not receiving e-mail. Anybody can help me? Preferably by using the internal e-mail program.
Dear nokia messaging clientFor security reasons, Microsoft requires that you change your password with 365-day intervals for Windows Live Hotmail account. Once this is done you will again be able to receive e-mails.Go to Options-Settings-Settings of the mailbox - Password and enter the password again. E-mail delivery to your phone will be resumed shortly thereafter.Sincerely Yours,Nokia Messaging team.
good day! i've just updated my phone to this version but the problem what i notice is that when someone sends a text to me there's no sound at all..i've already tried to reset to factory default settings and change every profile but it seems that it still keeps me giving the same problem..what should i do now? its really annoying since i don't know if someone would text me..
I have with my Nokia E7. I am not receiving pictures via text message but I can receive text based text messages. I can send pictures and texts though.
E6 #1 (made in Finland): had to bring it to repair service because of pathetic battery lifetime and no notification light.Got a new one 2 weeks later:6 #2 (made in Hungary): had to bring it to repair service, as the screen blanked out when making or receiving a call (proximity sensor broken?). Notification light issue unchanged, Couldn't test battery as it went back to repair after one day only.Got a new one 2 weeks later (i.e. today): #3 (made in China):first of all I upgraded to OS V22. Needless to say notification light didn't change. Besides:- battery cover wobbly, a fraction of a millimeter too short. Chinese quality issue?- bluetooth doesn't work properly. A connected and authorized headset (that worked well on the previous 2 E6s, an X7, an E72, a Blackberry etc.) doesn't connect when being turned on. Have to connect manually when wanting to make call.
- screen blanks out when making or receiving a call. SAME ISSUE as on the Hungarian version! Will bring it back to Nokia repair tomorrow. Will HAVE TO look at alternatives, I just can't continue like that.@NOKIA: I really really really wanted to like this phone. But the design failures that you made (notification, vibration, battery) and your quality control are just PATHETIC, MISERABLE, ANNOYING. I don't have words. Where has this great company gone?.S. will have to downgrade my positive Amazon rating tonight significantly. I can no longer recommend anyone to buy this phone.y Nokia history:2110->8110->6110->6150->8210->8850->6310i->8910->6600->6230->6260->3230->E60->E50->E65->E71->E55->E72->N97mini->C7->E6->X7->E6->?
I have a Nokia E72 with software version 071.004. I have some problems with it when I receive SMS messages from anyone. The following situations might happen: The SMS messages arrive delayed with more than one hour or never arrive. The phone shows a "SIM card registration failed" error message and disconnects from the network immediately after the other person sends me the SMS message. In this case I have to switch it off and on again in order for it to reconnect to the GSM network.
This is very bad because most of the times I get disconnected from the network and see it hours later. These problems appeared since the very first releases of the firmware that were running on the phone. I am sure this is not a network problem because I've put my SIM card in another phone and the messages arrive instantly. I am also sure this is not a SIM card problem because I've just renewed my SIM card and the problem is still there. So by eliminating these possible causes I can only suspect the phone!
would like to ask of you could disable the emoticons when receiving text message? For example, the text I will receive is, "Meet you at 8pm." Instead, I will receive,"Meet you at pm".
I have a small problem with the message details on text messages specially the time. When I receive text messages, it shows the right time (current time) in the inbox but when I try to check the time with message details, Its late by 4 Hours. I tried using my time zone, turn off autoupdate, etch and it seems nothing happened, its still the same.
I have an E71, and about once a day I get this message saying "insert SIM card." This hasnt happened ever not until just maybe a week or 2 ago. It happens almost daily and I have to restart the phone.
Ever since the Anna update, The E7 freezes when the "other caller" hangs up. This was some time ago addressed in the FAQs "to be resolved with the next update". Well, the update is installed, it still freezes, and the FAQ has disappeared.
I did a firmware update on my e52 about a week or two ago and since then my phone has crashes and freezes when I plug it to my computer via USB cable and select PC Suite. It just crashes and the only thing that helps is removing the battery and even after that I need to repeat the battery removal for 2-3 times until it finally responds. Otherwise when I push the button to switch it on it just shakes, the screen stays blank and nothing else happens.
I have had my Lumia for 10 days and for the second time it crashes during the night and the next morning I was not able to turn it on using the power button. I had to do a soft reset... The alarm that I set to wake me up never started... This means that I cannot trust my phone for waking me up in the morning! This is unacceptable!
I wanted to upload a camdriver via A2 on my device and I installed the drivers attached in the zip file and then I started the A2-Tool and used the description here around. BUT: the app is freezing my Windows system and I am forced to make a reset/(-start).Has anyone expirienced some similar things yet and know a solution to this problem? My system is Windows XP SP2 and A2 (22/09/2009).
So I cracked my screen, changed it with OEM new parts, and worked great for weeks after the installation. Now, I'm having camera issues, back camera works fine, but when you switch to front facing camera the app freezes and crashes, and I get cant connect to camera black screen, and at this point the back camera wont work either, if you restart and clear data on camera app the back camera works again, but front facing will never work.I;m running stock rooted but I've had this issue with rooted custom roms and stock unrooted. I'm not sure if this is related to the screen change or not, but it worked great for weeks after the screen change. and, I;m having the same issue with other camera apps too, no snap chat installed nor any other apps that could conflict.
the phone was purchased 4 months ago and regularly freezes and crashes when using it. The software also sometimes will perform the wrong function when an icon or button on the phone is pressed. I have tried updating the software to see if that would help but for the last 2 weeks I have been told that the Update Centre is overloaded and I can't download the new software.
The main reason i bought the phone. Was because of a virtually non existent signal on the Orange network.(dropping calls etc).Anyway. To cut a long story short. It will find UMA.But takes an age to lock on.And sometimes when making /receiving calls i get cut off and my router crashes (loses internet connection)! If i go into my wifi settings in my phone (wifi diagnostics). Under UMA it says 'UMA connection failed'.But no 'error' code!!
I have checked my router setings and everything seems ok as it does on my phone. But this morning i contacted AOL router support and they told me that it will not be the router but an issue with the phone!
While i am typing this.It has just found UMA (after approx 1 hour of trying) but if i make a call or receive one , i will more than likely be cut off.I forgot to mention that i have a 'speedtouch'(thompson) router. And am thinking of asking AOL for a 'Netgear'!Would this help?Although my laptop and xbox 360 run just fine via the speedtouch with no problems whatsoever
When someone txts u and u try to read or answer the SMSbox freezes. Also note this also affects the telephony function. It delays getting up latest calling list and does not allow u to place calls.
This is my first post to this forum and i am really hoping for some help. I have a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music Phone. It is about 7 months old and has developed a really annoying and frustrating fault over the past few days - progressively no getting worse by the hour it would seem. The phone freezes after receiving a text, phone call, internet usage or just generally pressing one of the function buttons. Some times if you wait long enough it does free itself but more often than not it will end up me removing the battery to reset the handset. Nothing appears to work properly on it anymore - the battery appears to drain within hours of charge. Really fed up with it now. Carphone Warehouse and Orange are blamming each other ( no change there). Yes i can take it to a repair centre who will either do it on site ro send away. I have completed a soft reset but has made no difference. I am now tempted to do a complete hard reset once backing up my contents etc
I have bought a Nokia E71 from a friend and when trying to download something from the Ovi store it asks for my user name and password, but says my user name and password are wrong and won't connect. I am using the same ones I use to connect to Ovi on my computer and it accepts them OK. Could this be because the previous owner's user name and password have been stored somewhere on the phone and as a security measure it won't let me in with my user name and password?
Does anyone know what I can do to be able to log in to Ovi on my phone so that I can download an application? The one I want at the moment is Sports Tracker so that I can check how many miles I do when going for a walk. I could perhaps find it online and download straight from their website, but I do really need to be able to download things through Ovi if required.
My problem is, when the phone goes in an area where there's no service, the 3G icon shows up in the right top corner, but when I go back to the area that has service, the 3G icon won't go away and I can't make any calls nor receive. only solution is to turn off the phone and turn back on. can you help me about that, how I can receive service again without restarting the phone?
my E6 seems to always show a 3G connection icon. I am not surfing the internet though and everything is set not to make connections. WiFi is priority 1.
