View 17 Replies View RelatedI have with my Nokia E7. I am not receiving pictures via text message but I can receive text based text messages. I can send pictures and texts though.
Is there some function that I have to enable?
would like to ask of you could disable the emoticons when receiving text message? For example, the text I will receive is, "Meet you at 8pm." Instead, I will receive,"Meet you at pm".
View 2 Replies View Related1) When sending text messages the messages go through but some remain in the outbox. They are actually sent, and not waiting for resend. The only option when selecting them is to delete, which removes them from the conversation threads. It doesn't seem to be related to service, but to whether I am using the phone for any other purpose at the time.
2) When connected to a car BT system, shut off car, BT seems to go into a black hole. You can't reconnect, can't make a call (well, it makes a call, but you can't hear anything; can't play music, etc.). The only solution is reboot. This happens with multiple systems in different brands of auto, so not limited to one brnad.
I want to know how text messages are transferred from E50 to E5. Also can be the data recovered from memory card?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an E63 that is about 4 months old. It stopped opening my text messages a few weeks ago, but I was able to open them again after an hour or so. It has been a few hours and I'm starting to become worried because my phone isn't opening the messages at all. Whenever I click the select button or select "open" from the message menu it acts as if I didn't press any button. I can reply back, and it'll mark it as read, but I cannot personally see the full text message.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing a peculiar problem, which I came across NEVER before with any of my other Nokia phones.Below are the details from the *#0000# Screen.Phone: Nokia E5Software Version: 071.003Software Version Date: 20 May, 2011Custom Version: 71.003.C00.01Custom Version Date: 21 May, 2011Language Set: 47.01Model: E5-00Type: RM-632Latest Update: Not UpdatedI haven't been able to open my old texts messages received in the month of August 2011. Of course we all have our own reasons to save the old texts on our phones. I wanted to read a couple of old messages so I try and open them by both methods; using the 5-way controller button and by Options>Open to no avail. While trying to open these old messages, my phone doesn't even give any error message. All that happens is, the text which am trying to open remains highlighted in the inbox. I tried backing up the text messages on my computer. To my surprise, Nokia PC Suite (recently updated version: 7.1.180.46) doesn't even recognize any of these old text messages. It only recognized the 1 month old texts. I fail to understand as to what could be reason behind this

View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery day at 10:30 GMT (without fail) I get a text message from Ovi Nokia App telling about some 'cool app' or other. This is now seriously bugging me - I didn't subscribe to it (my wife uses Ovi Store and doesn't get these messages). I keep thinking I am popular but no, it's just Ovi Nokia App telling what i already know! How do I get rid of it? I have tried to reply and send 'STOP' but it won't let you reply. I can't find anywhere on this site that tells you how to stop it either. I am reaching the point where I now purposely 'lose' my phone at 10:29 GMT and then find it again at 10:31 just to avoid the curse of ovi!
View 1 Replies View RelatedE72-1- It can't send SMS messages anymore. I hadn't noticed it at first, was wondering why the persons I sent messages didn't replied when I responded to their messages. Then happened to check my phones Outbox, and 6 text messages are stuck in there for several hours already.Just to test the phone further (to check if it might be a SIM card problem), I put this SIM card on another phone, and I was able to send messages on that phone.I also placed another SIM card on the E72 and tested sending a message -- the message sending gets stuck at the Outbox and never sends. Receiving SMS messages appears to work fine. Also, calling out (voice calls) and receiving calls work.other notes: in settings: "Phone Memory" (instead of memory card) is used for text messages, configured to have up to 999 messages. Currently, have around 600 SMS messages in the Inbox and maybe 150 text messages in the Sent folder. Let's says that's only around 800 messages (not yet 999 messages).
What I tried:I changed the setting from "phone memory" to "memory card", but still unable to send messages. (I reverted it back to phone memory since that's where my messages are residing.)I did a soft reset *#7780# which reset the E72's settings. Tried again to send SMS message -- it still fails.I decided to do a hard reset, so I did a full backup using Ovi Suite first. Then I did the hard reset *#7370# -- and it did solve the problem (able to send messages again), unfortunately, I would need to reinstall all the applications, contacts and restore the messages I saved.I tried restoring the backup (it was pretty big at 2.3Gb), but it's taking a very very long time (nearly an hour) and it seems to fail near the end of the restoration. The backing up of the phone took awhile (maybe 20 minutes or so) since it backedup probably the whole memory card too. (I should probably have deleted a few unneeded big files from the memory card before I did the backup since it appears that Ovi Suite is also backing up those big files).
Right now, I'm doing the restoration a second time (a few hours since I first tried that and it sort of failed). During the restoration which ended with failure, it seems that when I tried sending SMS messages, it fails again. (ie. if I restore the backup, the problem is also restored) -- I'll check this again later if this is indeed the case.I still had around 130Mb free space left in the C: phone memory and the 4Gb microSDHD memory card had around 900Mb free space when I started the backing up in the first place. (mentioning these in case these might be related to the problem.)another thing: does restoring backups really take an extremely long time? (I haven't tried the restoration function before, though I did a backup maybe 2 months ago) Does the phone get in a sort of "stuck" or "hanging" mode during the latter part of the restoration procedure?
I have an 8 month old Nokia E7 in good condition however just this afternoon when ever I recieve or send a text message instaed of showing what I have written on screen OR what the reply message reads it shows a number instead along with the time i.e. 8: 17.45 I have deleted all messages in the sent items and inbox as wondered if it was because i had a few in there, I also rebooted the ph 3 times, removed and replaced sim card each time but the same thing keeps happening.Have sent my phone messages from 3 other numbers just to make sure it wasnt 1 number causing it and all come up with the same thing.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an E71x. It has a BUNCH of issues, but my main problem now is I was saving my text messages to my installed memory card. The card became full. I took the card out to get some audio files and other stuff off it to make more room. Well, at some point the phone said the memory card was missing and it would use the internal memory. Now I can't get it to use the memory card again. I see no way to put it back to that. I think the only option I got was to "Copy" messages to the memory card. But I don't want to do that.
I need to save as much stuff as I can off the phone, then reset or restore the phone to the factory settings, or just re-install everything. (this Symbian OS and Nokias poor support of it are for the birds...)But, how do I get the phone to save messages to my memory card again?
My iphone 4s has been updated to the iOS 5.1.1. Since then it will not play music or give a text message alert sound. We have restored the phone, we have toggled the mute switch, and we have rebooted using the home button and power down and nothing has worked. The volume does not adjust, there is no sound bar when pressing the sound control buttons along the side of the phone. When double tapping the home button on lock screen there is no sound bar. It will ring on incoming calls and the Speaker phone does work while in call. All of the volume controls will work correctly when the headphones are in music plays, text tone works, video sound works but as soon as they are removed it reverts back.
Info:
iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1
As of the 5th of May, the sound from the speaker and sound jack has had random crackles in any sound that is played, either from someone ringing me, an alarm or just from the music player

View 2 Replies View RelatedVery often when i receive an SMS , my E72 freezes. The only way to recover from this is to turn phone off and on again. It looks like it happens when the sender is not in my phone-book .. and there is only a 'number' mentioned in 'From'.
(although i still can't update .. because the update for Vodafone branded phones is not available yet ... another BIG let down if u ask me .. Nokia should control this better).I don't know where I can report this problem. Nokia Care employees only know whats in their calling-script.
My blackberry curve 9300 has no sound at all when receiving instant messages. I checked, I am using the normal mode, and all the instant messages should have sound when recieving, but mine does not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedBought my first nokia phone for 9 days and already has several problems. Starting with what is most urgent. Already after 3-4 days disappeared suddenly able to receive mail from my hotmail account, but luckily came back later in the day! So on Friday I got an email from nokia with the text below. I have accordingly made the following (but without result).First I tried to follow the recipe that is in the mail as described below. I first went into hotmail via my computer and changed the password. Then I went into settings on the phone and changed the password there without success. Then I tried to go into the settings in the phone and reset phone to factory mode 3-4 times then use the built-in wizard to configure my hotmail account and wait for the result without success.
I receive e-mails that are written below in Norwegian every day. When I go into the e-mail on mobile phone brings up the yellow / green circle in the corner which I interpret as if everything is ok with connecting to hotmail. But that is not receiving e-mail. Anybody can help me? Preferably by using the internal e-mail program.
Dear nokia messaging clientFor security reasons, Microsoft requires that you change your password with 365-day intervals for Windows Live Hotmail account. Once this is done you will again be able to receive e-mails.Go to Options-Settings-Settings of the mailbox - Password and enter the password again. E-mail delivery to your phone will be resumed shortly thereafter.Sincerely Yours,Nokia Messaging team.
E6 #1 (made in Finland): had to bring it to repair service because of pathetic battery lifetime and no notification light.Got a new one 2 weeks later:6 #2 (made in Hungary): had to bring it to repair service, as the screen blanked out when making or receiving a call (proximity sensor broken?). Notification light issue unchanged, Couldn't test battery as it went back to repair after one day only.Got a new one 2 weeks later (i.e. today): #3 (made in China):first of all I upgraded to OS V22. Needless to say notification light didn't change. Besides:- battery cover wobbly, a fraction of a millimeter too short. Chinese quality issue?- bluetooth doesn't work properly. A connected and authorized headset (that worked well on the previous 2 E6s, an X7, an E72, a Blackberry etc.) doesn't connect when being turned on. Have to connect manually when wanting to make call.
- screen blanks out when making or receiving a call. SAME ISSUE as on the Hungarian version! Will bring it back to Nokia repair tomorrow. Will HAVE TO look at alternatives, I just can't continue like that.@NOKIA: I really really really wanted to like this phone. But the design failures that you made (notification, vibration, battery) and your quality control are just PATHETIC, MISERABLE, ANNOYING. I don't have words. Where has this great company gone?.S. will have to downgrade my positive Amazon rating tonight significantly. I can no longer recommend anyone to buy this phone.y Nokia history:2110->8110->6110->6150->8210->8850->6310i->8910->6600->6230->6260->3230->E60->E50->E65->E71->E55->E72->N97mini->C7->E6->X7->E6->?
I have a Nokia E72 with software version 071.004. I have some problems with it when I receive SMS messages from anyone. The following situations might happen: The SMS messages arrive delayed with more than one hour or never arrive. The phone shows a "SIM card registration failed" error message and disconnects from the network immediately after the other person sends me the SMS message. In this case I have to switch it off and on again in order for it to reconnect to the GSM network.
This is very bad because most of the times I get disconnected from the network and see it hours later. These problems appeared since the very first releases of the firmware that were running on the phone. I am sure this is not a network problem because I've put my SIM card in another phone and the messages arrive instantly. I am also sure this is not a SIM card problem because I've just renewed my SIM card and the problem is still there. So by eliminating these possible causes I can only suspect the phone!
need to know how to play movies with various ext like wmv..mpeg..vlc on e7

View 1 Replies View Relatedmine was not a firmware or software mine was simply the earpiece clogged up with dirt & grease.there is a fine wire gauze and it clogs up.it almost totally deadened the sound in a call.remove the front cover using a cheap hex screw remover tool.watch this useful Internet video for help. url...without any electronics attached to the front cover rinse it in a bleach/ hot water solution & soaked for 30min. to dissolve the grease.low pressure compressed air through the back holes helps to finish cleaning out the greasy dirt.rinse in clean water and dry totally before reassembly.my phone has now returned to original perfect volume. phone has been to nokia and returned not fixed so did it myself.
