Dec 27, 2011On firmware v22.014. The Keyboard light doesn't work on power saver mode (or low brightness settings). I tried to use 'Brightness Control' app.. It doesn't work to my satisfaction. But its better than nothing.

So I went to turn the screen up in 'Light sensor' and it comes up with "Unable to change setting. Power saving mode active."How do I get it off this mode? I wanted to check my email account settings to make sure that they're valid since my emails are not going through. This is what I get:
I go to the E-mail-Settings-My Inbox-Account settings. I get settings for mail address, pw, mailbox name, signature info, name, read status and limits.
Where can I check for SMTP server settings like server name, port and ancryption?

Mar 30, 2011Our email system allows IMAP connections from mobile devices.It uses secure IMAP and SMTP ports and expects the password to be transmitted in clear text (over the SSL connection).I have been able to access my mail with IMAP using both an E52 and a 5800 with the default installed email application, but I am unable to send mail via SMTP as the password is being transmitted in an incompatible format.Is there an alternative email application that will allow me to fine tune password transmission?

Oct 31, 2011Okay, the night between the 29th and 30th of October meant adjusting for day light saving. Before I went to bed, I set the clock back one hour and made sure that the phone had all automatic time changes OFF since I've had problems before with this (only with Nokia, worth mentioning). On the morning of the 30th, my collegue calls me and wonders if I am at work. Turns out the stupid phone set the time back one hour as well without informing that such a thing would happen! I was one hour late for work and it was all because of the phone! Why did it not say that automatic time changes was planned to occur? And why did it change it even though all automatic changes was turned off?

I want the digital clock screen saver to appear all the time when I am not using the phone, but what currently happens is that few seconds after I stop using the keypad, the whole screen dims and the screensaver (having the digital clock) disappears as well.

Jun 23, 2011My brand new E7's "light time-out" is not funtioniong; no matter how I adjust it (anywhere from 5-60 secs). The only way it goes off is when the device is screen locked either manually or automatically which I think it's too long (minimum 1 min).
So, I sent it to a Nokia Care Center and they couldn't solve it saying it is the phone's default feature which I disagree.
Out of curiosity I tested a few E7s to a total of 15 todate and voila! IT IS NOT WORKING AS WELL! I can conclude this is a flaw in if not all but almost all E7s?

May 24, 2011My E72 will not save sent messages. To quote: "Yr last 20 messages sent are automatically saved in the Sent folder". They ain't. "To change the number of saved messages, open Messaging > Options > Settings > Other". There is no Other option in Settings. Currently on software 054.005.217.11, but this was a problem before the update.

Jun 2, 2011I just got my E7 and every time I want to connect to a WIFI spot I need to enter the passkey. I upgraded from E72 and before that I had an E71, and on both phones I only needed to enter the passkey once and I only have to select the particular wlan connection after that, no need to enter the passkey.
By the nature of my work i always connect to different wifi spots of my clients, so you see this is really important for me

Feb 15, 2011I received a text message with a picture (ya know, one of those possibly WBMP format ones).After 15 minutes now, I'm still shocked to have found no way to save that picture. Nokia has made my life miserable within one month. (This was my first Nokia phone ever.) I find no consistency anywhere. Any basic thing takes enormous number of key presses or is not present at all.How can I save the picture I received in the text? There's no such option in the message menus.
