View 2 RepliesI have E63 which I bought & used in Australia (vodafone) for calls and internet there.phone is unlocked and have been using it in holland (telfort) for calls for the last 6 months.subsrcibed internet last week through provider. had several contacts with customerservice and put in all the right settings. now internet works on other phone, but on my Nokia E63 it says "Packet data: packet data connection not available"
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen a Packet Data connection is ended, it doesn't get recorded in Log list. As a result, I can't get Info of Data sent and received in the session. However, I can view Missed Calls, Dialed Calls, Received Calls, Incoming and Outgoing SMS. This problem has started since I updated my Phone Software to Version 022.014 (Release Date 2011-07-05).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just updated my E7 to Symbian Anna. But after that, any packet data connections for internet access are not listed in the log anymore. I have set off any filters. Prior to the Anna update, this was working fine.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm on a call people tend to get some sort of interference It seems like my packet data connection remains active and I'm sure that's what's causing it.Is there a way to disable the connection while on a call, I know its meant to do that but I don't seem to get notifications that the connection is being disabled.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHow to change your access point from a Network Provider to WLAN in OVI store using a Nokia E72 ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have E7 with symbian anna. A while ago I had to restart my home wifi (due to storm) and during that process a new wifi access point (wlan(01) was created on my phone. After that - as far as I have now understood - my phone stopped syncronising gmails altogether. Also in my provider's network (outside wifi, elisa). In order for my phone to sync emails, i need to reboot it (or just turn it off and on, no need to get the three vibrations when turning off).
Question 1) How do I delete this unncecssary wifi access point on E7? I was able to do it easily on my N900 but not on this E7.
Question 2) Is it likely that the reason my phone stopped syncin gmails is related to this wifi issue? Pressing send & receive won't help, either, nothing happens. I have had this E7 for 1.5 months now, Symbian Anna I've had for 10 days and this problem started 5 days ago. Before that the mails flew in very nicely.
i want to use my phn always in wifi...I want to set default access point my wifi for all internet services..What to do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with gprs in my e71x. It used to work fine earlier but now when on using the web browser it just shows wifi under the internet destinations.I have gprs configured as an accesspoint inside internet destination and it worked great earlier but now for some reason it is no more visible to any apps.I tried restoring the phone to factory settings, reformatted it and even reflashed the 3.78 firmware but couldn't fix the problem.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia N97 and carrier service through AT&T. I subscribe to a monthly packet data plan which I have been using with my N97 for several months without issue. Several days ago my phone was no longer able to connect to the internet using my packet data connection. I was only unable to use the data connection with certain applications. The data connection would not work with the Ovi Store shortcut, Nokia Maps, the Nokia Web application, or the AP News widget. However, I was able to receive emails on Nokia Messaging through my data connection, and I was able to run my Fring application on it as well. I performed a hard reset which did not fix the problem.
I tried to adjust my network mode under the connectivity setting from Dual Mode to GSM, but that also did not have any effect. I then tried to run the setting wizard through phone setup to have it define my operator settings for internet, ect. After the wizard updated my settings I am now able to access the internet through the Nokia web application using my data connection. But maps and the ovi store still cannot connect using this connection.I have tried changing the connection settings under the maps application, but this has made no difference. Any help or advice would be very appreciated.
every 10 hours or so i have to reset my new E7 to open data connection (internet and e-mails).
After resetting no problems for some hours. I get my e-mails and connection to internet. but then again...
I have the newest firmware of Anna. No help from Nokia customer service. (I phoned 4 days ago)
I am using E52 and I have installed Whatsapp Messenger. It uses my packet data connection and I am rob off my credit. The only way I know to stop this is to uninstall Whatsapp. Is there any way or an app on OviStore which can enable/disable my packet data connection as per my wish.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an E6. I have configured a GMail and Yahoo email accounts but have configured it to retrieve only at 8am. So data will be used only during that time or whenever a known internet accessing application is running. This was for around 3 months. As soon as I exit say Opera, the data connection would be closed. But for the past 2 weeks, the data connection refuses to terminate. Even when I manually terminate by going into Connections, it gets reconnected automatically. This behaviour appears suspiciously like a virus / spyware running hidden because task manager shows no running application other than F-Secure which is disabled except for theft protection. How to find out if there is any hidden process accessing the internet? How to know which applications run at startup?

However the phone is making 4 connections per hour on it's own so I am paying even when I don't surf. A message relating to "packet Data Connection activated"(or on hold) appears on the phone regularly. Can anybody tell me what it is and how to stop it. (virgin can't seem to help).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a N73, I have a mail account on Google. I created a mailbox in my phone, configured it with all settings. I enabled Automatic email retrieval and the interval time was 2 hrs. All worked fine. I got the notification in first run. I noticed that my packet data connection was active for whole day, in result phone battery was consumed too early.
I just want to know these two things:
1. Why the packet data connection is active all time? Cant it active only on the retrieval hours. Not in the idle position?
2. Why the email alert notifications has just stopped showing NEW EMAIL
I am just missing my important mails due to this problem of notification.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFrequently, a couple of seconds after ending a call with someone on my 5800, the screen is filled with the message "packet data connection active" for a moment. The message won't go away by clicking on the screen. The only way to force it away is by clicking the red button, but that would also take me away from whatever menu or application I was at, so I'd prefer not to do that. Also, I don't want to change to connectivity settings per se, (as seen in, for example, this topic: [URL]). Rather, is there any way to disable just the message?
View 8 Replies View Relatedown a Nokia C5-00 since one week.My question(s): When using Maps the phone is always building up a packet data connection.1. Why?. I think it should be enough to use the integrated GPS-Signal (even if it takes a bit longer to find my position sometimes)2. Where can i durable shutdown this function?. I have changed all settings in the way that the phone should ask before building any connections, but that doesnt work. The phone is used in a rate model where i am one out of three members and that since bout 8 years. Im afraid that data costs are not really cheap in this "old" rate
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have an E63 with version 400.21.013 firmware. However, I have experienced this problem from day one. I do not have a data plan but I use WLAN at various locations, and there is a list of access points in the Settings.I have a home access point configured with WPA2 and I have all the settings saved in the Connection Manager (or is it WLAN Wizard - I don't know). When the phone is not connected to any AP and I use a program that wants data, it will almost always show the "Home" AP in the list which appears right after "Searching for available access points" is briefly displayed. "Home" shows up right below Search for WLAN. There is no problem making the first connection. However, if the "Home" AP is already in use and I open another program that wants data, at times it will not show my Home AP in the list. If "Searching for available access points" is only displayed for a split second, "Home" will not be in the list. Sometimes I can close the program and open it again and if "Searching for available access points" stays on screen for about a second, then "Home" will be on the list and I can connect. Sometimes I will have to try 3, 4, 5 times, and sometimes it will never "see" the AP unless I disconnect the WLAN and start all over.Right at this moment, there is no problem. I can open program after program and connect via my "Home" AP. But it is frustrating when it does happen. Has anyone seen this or found a remedy?
