Eseries / Communicators :: How To Delete Wifi Access Point On E7
Jul 10, 2011
I have E7 with symbian anna. A while ago I had to restart my home wifi (due to storm) and during that process a new wifi access point (wlan(01) was created on my phone. After that - as far as I have now understood - my phone stopped syncronising gmails altogether. Also in my provider's network (outside wifi, elisa). In order for my phone to sync emails, i need to reboot it (or just turn it off and on, no need to get the three vibrations when turning off).
Question 1) How do I delete this unncecssary wifi access point on E7? I was able to do it easily on my N900 but not on this E7.
Question 2) Is it likely that the reason my phone stopped syncin gmails is related to this wifi issue? Pressing send & receive won't help, either, nothing happens. I have had this E7 for 1.5 months now, Symbian Anna I've had for 10 days and this problem started 5 days ago. Before that the mails flew in very nicely.
I am having problems with gprs in my e71x. It used to work fine earlier but now when on using the web browser it just shows wifi under the internet destinations.I have gprs configured as an accesspoint inside internet destination and it worked great earlier but now for some reason it is no more visible to any apps.I tried restoring the phone to factory settings, reformatted it and even reflashed the 3.78 firmware but couldn't fix the problem.
I have a wireless LAN access point on my phone that is draining my battery because it always seems to be trying to connect to it. I do not want this access point but because the phone thinks it is connected (it can't be because it was over 1 mile from my current location) it will not let me delete it. How can I delete this access point?
History: Always Nokia since 1994 including Nokia 2140, 7110e, 6150, 6210, 6310i, 6230i Current: Nokia N82 (with Access to a 5800XM)
everytime when i try to use wifi to access internet either using browser to surf, accessing the facebook or Internet applications using wifi, the phone screen goes dim, and goes back to the main screen (the wlan is automatically off when the phone restarts).
I've installed Nokia Messaging and configured my e-mail account. Even though I think I set it up properly it just will not disconnect from my WiFi access point - even when the application is turned off and I manually close the internet connection it just keeps on reconnecting. I need an application I can use to check my email once or twice a week, not something that drains the hell out of my (already **bleep**) battery. Is there anything I can do, or should I replace Nokia Messaging with something else?
I debranded my c905 from ATT. I got everything working now. I have unlimited internet on my cell plan. I use bluetooth PAN to connect my laptop to the internet using my phone. I have another laptop that doesn't have bluetooth. It does have WiFi. I would like to turn my C905 into a WiFi hotspot. I have WiFi working on the phone but it doesn't have settings for AdHoc or anything that will let me turn it into a access point.
I just received by Satio and downloaded the latest software version dated: 18-02-10 My xDSL provider provides me with a wireless router which I have been using for ten years with no problem. I get 5 public IP addresses and when they are all assigned to MAC addresses I simply restart the xDSL modem to connect a new device. The following happens when I connect to my xDSL WiFi connection. 1. I have to enter the WEP security code (why doesn't Satio remember this so I don't have to enter it each time?) 2. It gives the message 'Connecting to my Wifi node' 3. It gives the message 'Checking internet connectivity' (I am assuming it is checking to see if the IP address is assigned) 4. It tries to go to my homepage www.google.com (shows a blank screen) 5. Then it times out and gives me an error message "Internet: No gateway reply" HOW DO I SEE WHAT IP ADDRESS HAS BEEN ASSIGNED BY MY WIFI NODE?
This problem has persisted since day one with this phone, and has been an issue through all software updates. My phone is currently running the latest OTA software update from Verizon: 4.5.605.MB810.Verizon.en.us. The phone will connect to WiFi access points. It never seems to have trouble finding or negotiating a connection to a WiFi network. I can connect to open networks, WPA, WPA2, etc. I can connect to b/g/n no problem.
However, after using the network for a while, it always fails. The connection will suddenly stop working, and apps will start to claim that the network isn't available. The phone continues to think that it is connected to WiFi, but no data will flow. The only way to fix the problem is to disable to WiFi radio and turn it back on. The failure seems to be triggered by a volume of data. If I connect to a network and then don't download much, it seems to last longer (time-wise) than if I immediately start a download.
Different access points seem to trigger the problem sooner than others. I have a business-class HP Procurve 802.11n access point that will lock-up the phone almost immediately. I also have a consumer-grade Linksys 802.11g access point that will work for much longer, but still leads to failure. Suggestions to disable wifi encryption are NOT acceptable. Suggestions to disable wireless-N are NOT acceptable.
I am through 5 days after the purchase but could not access internet either though GPRS or through Wi-F They should give three months minimum training before selling new product.
I'm trying to use my E52 as a modem. I connect it to the PC, I select internet access. The installer comes up, I install the software. Unfortunately, Nokia PC Internet Access says it could not find a Nokia device connected to the PC. (**bleep**, you were installed from it, right now.) If I reconnect E52 to the PC, Nokia PC Internet Access has a completely black window. It pops up another window "Updating..." saying "Installer has found some installed components which are older than those in device's memory. There components will be updated." The progress bar remains at 0% and nothing happens. Cannot even cancel the installation.
I have an updated firmware Nokia E71, I use the default web browser and/or opera browser, often while accessing my email accounts from the phone, I find it hard to make attachements or view them properly.I cant attach any files either!! is it supposed to happen or AM i doing something wrong??
I updated firmware to 054.003 but now I cannot add access points for wap/mms/internet! The setup wizard only gives me the option to add an email address only...before update I could get operator settings which is not the case now.
Just got my new Nokia E6 out of the box. It does connect to my WEP+WPA2 secured WLAN, but I cannot access the Internet with it. Nor with the browser or with any other app. I can access the internet via my 3g connection (I live in a kind of rural area where no 3G is available).
Just got a new E5 and having a problem where the contact list won't open at all. While trying to access the contact list via the menu/shortcuts, it blinks for a second then returns to the previous screen.
I've done a power cycle, soft reset and updated the phone firmware/software.

My problem is that i don't know what to delete since i am afraid i may end up destroying my phone.
i am unable to access memory card in my e 72 mobile although it is working when i insert the meomery card in my laptop .. memory card not accessible and all the files are getting saved in phone memory.
i need to start a modem connection via my usbmodem e52. this connection is not for internet but is used only to connect to another modem at 9600 baud and to use as hyperterminal. I have created my connection but unfortunately the phone doesn't start the connection i receive an erro from the pc. How can i do?
Have you been able to synchronize address book with your car bluetooth system via rSAP? Volvo V50 built-in bluetooth works otherwise, but does not synchronize address book. Remote SIM access is enabled from E7 bluetooth settings. It is very annoying to see just the number for incoming phone calls, nor can you browse address book and make phone calls with car's built-in system.
i used to be able to access the memory card while connects to PC through Nokia PC Suite. however starting a couple days ago, i suddenly can't access memory card through PC suite anymore. memory card only becomes available after disconnecing the PC suit.
