View 1 RepliesI have E7 with symbian anna. A while ago I had to restart my home wifi (due to storm) and during that process a new wifi access point (wlan(01) was created on my phone. After that - as far as I have now understood - my phone stopped syncronising gmails altogether. Also in my provider's network (outside wifi, elisa). In order for my phone to sync emails, i need to reboot it (or just turn it off and on, no need to get the three vibrations when turning off).
Question 1) How do I delete this unncecssary wifi access point on E7? I was able to do it easily on my N900 but not on this E7.
Question 2) Is it likely that the reason my phone stopped syncin gmails is related to this wifi issue? Pressing send & receive won't help, either, nothing happens. I have had this E7 for 1.5 months now, Symbian Anna I've had for 10 days and this problem started 5 days ago. Before that the mails flew in very nicely.
i want to add wifi access point to my phone this is c++, what do i have to download, i see this to Nokia developer site.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've installed Nokia Messaging and configured my e-mail account. Even though I think I set it up properly it just will not disconnect from my WiFi access point - even when the application is turned off and I manually close the internet connection it just keeps on reconnecting. I need an application I can use to check my email once or twice a week, not something that drains the hell out of my (already **bleep**) battery. Is there anything I can do, or should I replace Nokia Messaging with something else?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI debranded my c905 from ATT. I got everything working now. I have unlimited internet on my cell plan. I use bluetooth PAN to connect my laptop to the internet using my phone. I have another laptop that doesn't have bluetooth. It does have WiFi. I would like to turn my C905 into a WiFi hotspot. I have WiFi working on the phone but it doesn't have settings for AdHoc or anything that will let me turn it into a access point.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just received by Satio and downloaded the latest software version dated: 18-02-10
My xDSL provider provides me with a wireless router which I have been using for ten years with no problem. I get 5 public IP addresses and when they are all assigned to MAC addresses I simply restart the xDSL modem to connect a new device. The following happens when I connect to my xDSL WiFi connection.
1. I have to enter the WEP security code (why doesn't Satio remember this so I don't have to enter it each time?)
2. It gives the message 'Connecting to my Wifi node'
3. It gives the message 'Checking internet connectivity' (I am assuming it is checking to see if the IP address is assigned)
4. It tries to go to my homepage www.google.com (shows a blank screen)
5. Then it times out and gives me an error message "Internet: No gateway reply" HOW DO I SEE WHAT IP ADDRESS HAS BEEN ASSIGNED BY MY WIFI NODE?
This problem has persisted since day one with this phone, and has been an issue through all software updates. My phone is currently running the latest OTA software update from Verizon: 4.5.605.MB810.Verizon.en.us. The phone will connect to WiFi access points. It never seems to have trouble finding or negotiating a connection to a WiFi network. I can connect to open networks, WPA, WPA2, etc. I can connect to b/g/n no problem.
However, after using the network for a while, it always fails. The connection will suddenly stop working, and apps will start to claim that the network isn't available. The phone continues to think that it is connected to WiFi, but no data will flow. The only way to fix the problem is to disable to WiFi radio and turn it back on. The failure seems to be triggered by a volume of data. If I connect to a network and then don't download much, it seems to last longer (time-wise) than if I immediately start a download.
Different access points seem to trigger the problem sooner than others. I have a business-class HP Procurve 802.11n access point that will lock-up the phone almost immediately. I also have a consumer-grade Linksys 802.11g access point that will work for much longer, but still leads to failure. Suggestions to disable wifi encryption are NOT acceptable. Suggestions to disable wireless-N are NOT acceptable.
I just cant get the internet to work and its getting really annoying...
i have tried the standard settings, mobile networks, access points names, but when I tap on access points names I just a get a blue screen. There is no option to add a new one.
I just recently upgraded to Android version 5.1.1.It appears, although I am not sure that that is the reason, that I can't get mobile data anymore. WiFi works just fine.If I go to APN settings I get above message - Access point name settings are not available for this user.

I've gone in to settings / general / service info and changed the access point to my wireless network. When I sync mail it still uses my 3g I've removed the mailbox and re setup but it still refuses to use the AP I specify.

I had my phone linked to my home WiFi network, then I switched internet providers and temporarily had different WiFi credentials so I clicked "forget this network." Now I have set up my WiFi with the same SSID and Password as before but my phone won't auto connect.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have defined my WLAN as the primary internet access point. Incidentally, the E72 terms the WLAN connection point "infrastructure". My wife's E63 uses the slightly more reassuring "known". Despite the WLAN being the number 1 priority access point, when using the www application the 3G connection is launched if the applications settings are set to "automatic". If I use "always ask", oddly the WLAN internet access point does not show up in the list. The 3G connection does twice. Once as an internet access point, and with a slightly different name for a WAP connection (not sure what the point of the WAP connection is, but too scared to delete it). I can "Search for WLAN" which without fail always finds my home network, which is selectable, and can be used without problem.
There appears to be a glitch in that the defined WLAN access point is not and cannot be recognised as an automatic connection point, but is easily used when manually selected. Perhaps a WLAN setting is wrong making the automatic connection fall over? Happy to entertain any advice. The phone is completely up to date with firmware.
I've recently purchased an X6, it's a great phone. The only problem I'm having is sorting out the connection settings for my emails (under the Messaging menu). I don't seem to be able to select an access point. My default connection is my home WLAN In my Internet access point the priorities are:
1. Home WLAN
2. 3G
3. GPRS
This works perfectly for all other apps and the internet; but under Options > Settings > Email > Mailboxes > *select mailbox* > Connection settings > Incoming e-mail > Access Point in use. I can only select specific connections, there doesn't appear to be any option to select my Internet access point? It's currently set to "Default Connection" which means it uses my WLAN nicely. But when I leave the house it doesn't work without manually navigating through all those options above which is pretty inconvenient. Am I missing something, or do I really need to do that each time I leave the house and return?
I have a wireless LAN access point on my phone that is draining my battery because it always seems to be trying to connect to it. I do not want this access point but because the phone thinks it is connected (it can't be because it was over 1 mile from my current location) it will not let me delete it. How can I delete this access point?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using Inernet Radio happily on my e63 for some time on the vodafone network in Australia and frequently listened over GPRS.I recently signed up to Telstra and the first time I started Internet Radio after inserting my new SIM I received a "terms and conditions" notice - as if this was the first time I was using it.
Now, only my WIFI access points and Telstra MMS are showing up in the available access points for internet radio - I can't see the Telstra Internet access point so I'm no longer able to to listen to Internet Radio over GPRS!!
Bascially, I need to know how to delete a wireless access point. My phone is obsessed with using a Wifi access point called Spectrum (I once used it to connect at some motorway services). It is the default access point and nothing I do will change it!I have tried reseting the phone, but makes no difference!Any ideas?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've setup my wlan access in Internet destination. In this destination I set up wlan as priority 1 and mobile data as priority 2.Phone keeps moving wlan from Internet to Uncategorised destination. If I move it back to Internet it stays for some time and goes back to Uncategorised. Sometimes it happens while browsing. I want to go back one page and phone will show that it can't find the address. Have to go to settings and move it back to Internet destination. Ad nauseam. Did not have this problem on N8. My phone has static IP address on my home modem.
