Eseries / Communicators :: E5 - Can't Access Contact List
Feb 14, 2011Just got a new E5 and having a problem where the contact list won't open at all.While trying to access the contact list via the menu/shortcuts, it blinks for a second then returns to the previous screen.
I've done a power cycle, soft reset and updated the phone firmware/software.

Dec 13, 2010My new Nokia E5 Contact List cannot be displayed. I have imported my contacts from my old Nokia 3120 classic unit successfully. The list does not open from any options or anything else.It does not even appear and open with empty contacts.After trying to open the shortcut or the Contacts menu the screen clears and returns to the previous page.

Jul 27, 2010On my N97 mini i select a contact out of the contact-list, i select the correct phone-number and make the call. After finishing the call, the screen goes back to main menu.... but the contacts-app sticks active in the background. In order to close that, i have to long-press the button, switch to contacts, and close. Which is a little bit fussily.....

I've done this in the past with no trouble, but this time we're transitioning to Outlook, and I'm hearing from numerous colleagues that it DOES empty my Contacts and replaces them with what Contacts I have within Outlook - which is about 5% of what I have in my BB Contact List. I need to do this today. Can anyone help me in understanding how to access and at least print the list so that I know how to keep it? Also, I backed up my BB on Desktop Manager last night, just in case, but when I try to search for the Contact info I couldn't find anything.

If I miss a call I can select view and see my missed calls list but after that I cannot get back to the call log. Feb 12, 2016This question is not specific to the Nexus 6P, but that is the phone I carry. I add 2 or 3 phone numbers (telemarketers) to my blocked call list every week. When a telemarketer calls, I
(1) hang up,
(2) go to the call log,
(3) tap the call record to expand it,
(4) tap "call details", then
(5) select "block number."
That's all very simple.The issue is that now that I have dozens or hundreds of blocked numbers , when I miss a call, there's no easy way to see if the missed call was from a number on my blocked list. A missed call from a blocked number looks the same as a missed call from an un-blocked number (unless they're in my contact list). I can scroll through (but not search or sort) my blocked call list by
(1) opening phone app,
(2) tapping "Settings" in the primary menu, then
(3) tapping "Call Blocking."
This presents a list of all of the numbers that I've ever blocked, but I can't search it and I can't sort it.
in a perfect world, the Call Log would somehow show a flag for missed calls from blocked numbers so that I don't have to search the list to see if the number is blocked. In an even more perfect world, a tap on that number would take me to a detail page showing all the times that number has called and been blocked. Finally, the blocked number list would be both searchable and sortable. I think that most/all of this could be accomplished by a 3d party app - for which I'd gladly pay five bucks. There are lots of call blocking apps on the market, but they all appear to operate separately from the Android native call blocking function.

What I don't understand is how to make an application appear in the list I can choose from. If I install a new application (or remove an old one) is there a way of editing this list?

Jul 3, 2011i am an e7 user. I was recently downloading a couple of videos at the same time when my phone hanged and had to be restarted. When it did restart, most of the files had to be redownloaded. All except one. The downloads list claims that the file has been saved. The video plays bt isnt completely downloaded.The problem now is that i cant delete the video through the file manager. The error msg says web:already in use.. When i tried deleting the file from the downloads list of the web browser, there was a similar msg.

Mar 21, 2011I'm trying to use my E52 as a modem. I connect it to the PC, I select internet access. The installer comes up, I install the software. Unfortunately, Nokia PC Internet Access says it could not find a Nokia device connected to the PC. (**bleep**, you were installed from it, right now.) If I reconnect E52 to the PC, Nokia PC Internet Access has a completely black window. It pops up another window "Updating..." saying "Installer has found some installed components which are older than those in device's memory. There components will be updated." The progress bar remains at 0% and nothing happens. Cannot even cancel the installation.
