BB Curve :: 8520 Keeps Hanging With With Clock Ticking Round?
May 2, 2012I am getting frustrated as every time I unlock my phone and when I am using it, I have to wait for up to 30secs for the hand on the little clock to stop moving round and vanish. This has only started happening over the last 2 months (my phone is 14 months old). I also sometimes get the phone freezing, with no clock and just have to wait a few seconds for it to start working again.

Mar 7, 2011I got a BlackBerry Curve 8520 at work and for some reason my BIS is not working, it says not connected and I cannot manage to fix it. The below is what I did so far.
1. Verified with my carrier (MTEL.BG) that I have all necessary data serivices enabled.
2. Restarted the handheld a couple of times (battery pull and waited 30 secs).
3. Resed to factory settings.
Tried to register my device using Host Routing Tables (the table is empty) but nothinh happen.
Called Tech support and they attempted to register my devide without success. They said that probably my handheld have a defect and to replace it.

When I go to plug it in after getting home it will not charge or even lite up when plugged in. I have tried plugging it into the wall and the computer but I get the same reaction from both and that is nothing. I have tried to pull the battery and it is still the same.

If i connect the headphones it only rings when the music player is on. If i stop the player is not ringing again, only vibrates. I know the menu very well and is all set to the right parameters. I've bought a new housing complete and i'm waiting to have it delivered next week because 99% i think is the speaker.

Jun 11, 2010I currently have the BB 8520 with 4.6 software, I've been doing to get the O.S 5 update following the 'Upgrade Guide'. I've tried deleting the vendor.xml file but still not luck it still keeps on saying it doesn't have "BlackBerry Device Software". I've tried to following things.
1. Searching my entire computer for another vendor.xml file
2. Re-installing both the upgrade and Desktop Manager
Still no luck, can anybody try and help me out? I've done some searching on the forum and found nothing.

Jan 12, 2011Having a bit of problems with my 8520.1st of all-when the battery is very low (which is everyday, as the battery is only lasting a few hours) it cuts off completely and when switched on, it takes a long long time to come on (getting white screen with hourglass. When it comes back on, it has erased all information which has been previously stored...fone numbers/messages etc.When trying to delete apps, it cuts off again.I dont know if settings are to blame or what, but it is really getting annoying!! Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.
