BlackBerry :: 9630 Will Not Ring?
Oct 27, 2011My blackberry 9630 will not ring even though it is set to ring. It still vibrates for notification, but I have no sound. Can someone tell me what I can do?

BB Tour 9630 :: How To Silence Ring Tones?
Jul 6, 2010I've figured out how to quickly change from a ring tone to vibrate by holding the # key, however I still get ring tones when I get a facebook message. I can't have my phone go off all day at work so how do I put FB messages on vibrate as well?
This may be the same question, but is there one quick fix to silence absolutely everything (ring, text message, FB messages)?

Jan 7, 2010I have a Storm2 and my wife has a Tour. I need some help with hers. All of a sudden her phone ring tone has switched from "calypso" to "bb pro1". When you check her settings in profiles it still shows "calypso"! I have battery pulled and tried to change the tone to almost every other tone on the phone with no luck.

Jun 5, 2010I've looked and looked all over the internet and I have seen people with this problem but so far no solutions. I would like my bb8520 to function as any $20dollar phone would, which is to ring every 2 seconds instead of every 10 seconds.My phone rings, then 10 seconds later it rings again, by the time 10 more seconds have gone by, the caller either hangs up or is sent to voice mail. If you miss the first ring, hear the second but take a little while to find or reach your phone, you miss the call.
Is there any way I can decrease the time between rings?? I really hope someone has a solution besides contacting the carrier. The caller usually hears about 8 to 10 rings before it goes to voice mail, so it is not a carrier issue. The problem is for me, not for my caller.I have already changed the profiles every which way, you can only change the number of vibrations, but not the rings. My only solution so far has been to program a song as a ringtone so it lasts longer, but I prefer a regular ring ring. I'ts incredible that RIM hasn't been able to make this easy.

Jul 9, 2011I'm not new to my Blackberry, this is my third device, never had a problem so far but this 8520 is not ringing at all. If i connect the headphones it only rings when the music player is on. If i stop the player is not ringing again, only vibrates. I know the menu very well and is all set to the right parameters. I've bought a new housing complete and i'm waiting to have it delivered next week because 99% i think is the speaker.

May 9, 2010Okay folks the problem here is exactly what it sounds like: my BlackBerry Tour has a habit of playing my custom ring tones despite the fact I have the phones volume set to silent in the active profile.This is a behavior I have spent about two hours trying to correct and have been unable to discern a viable solution anywhere. I've got into the settings for the ring tones, theoretically they should be silent along with everything else but it doesn't matter, they continue to play. Normal ring tones do play silently, or rather those numbers to which I have not assigned a custom ring tone. Again this is a problem for me at work, so I'd really appreciate any guidance, it has been very difficult to find.

May 10, 2010I recently downloaded the new update for my Blackberry Tour, and I have noticed that my phone is not remembering its settings (im assuming). When I have my phone holstered, it only vibrates twice and does not ring (though I have it set to Always for the ringtone) for my MMS/SMS messages. When its out of holster, it will only do the default text messing sound. I am not sure how to fix this though I have rebooted it twice in attempts for the settings.

When someone calls me, my phone rings once and then there is a long delay before it rings again. My daughter has the Bold and she uses the same ringtone and doesn't have this problem. Feb 12, 2010I've developed a problem with my 9630 (carrier: Sprint) recently. I won't receive emails on it for quite a while, but once I open my Internet browser, all of the emails I received since the last time I opened it will come through at once. If I check my messages, they're all listed as coming through at the same time, but inside the email, they're datestamped at the actual time they were sent.
Any ideas as to what it could be? I haven't changed any settings recently, the problem started independent of anything else, from what I can tell. It seems like a problem with my phone not checking for new emails until it uses data services (internet browser).

May 30, 2010I've researched my problem on other posts, and still not completely sure if my problem is unique or not.I have an unlocked Sprint 9630 I grabbed from our IT department before a trip to Turkey. It was supposedly deactivated - turns out it is still active on a Sprint number.
I've replaced the Sprint SIM with an Avea Turkish prepaid SIM that has data and Blackberry capability. It works fine for phone and text, but no ability to register the email with Avea Blackberry. Tech support there unable to determine the problem (unable to connect to server is the error message, both with phone and online).If I can deactive the Sprint number will that help? Or am I just out of luck.

But even with ringer volume on full it still does not ring. Text & notification alerts are fine...its aaudible...only incoming call dont ring. Mar 27, 2012Seems like after the last update, the phone won't ring for incoming calls and text messages. It appears lots of other iPhone users are having the same issue. I am just out of warranty on the phone and I wasn't going to purchase a warranty because I was waiting for the new phone to appear. The alarm works fine and the ringtones play when I try to select new ringtones. This is really a problem...I never had this kind of problem with my older iphones!
