BB Software :: BIS On Curve With Exchange, Connect Fail
May 5, 2010
Actually i have a BIS on a Blackberry Curve, I have all the parameters, I can connect on my exchange under Internet Explorer or others with the HTTPS format (and not HTTP) but when i configure my blackberry in Microsoft® Outlook Web Access mode, he can't connect that said host not found, can't verifiy your account etc...
I have followed the instructions on connecting using a browser and using the phone to connect to my company echange email server. I have tried at least 15 times and get error that there is something wrong with the user authentication.... We acn connect to this account using webmail and never have a problem is there anyone who has successfully connected without using BES?
I'm a network administrator for a small company. We have a user with a Blackberry 8830, and they'd like to access their Exchange account from the device. We're running Exchange 2003 SP2.
I attempted to set this up on the Blackberry and got the following error:
"Cannot connect to email server or invalid server name. Please verify the Outlook Web Access URL. If the error persists, contact antarcticadigital.com (your email provider)."
The user received an email with the following info:
Your attempt to configure the BlackBerry Internet Service to deliver mail to your BlackBerry device from this email account was unsuccessful. This email provides instructions to help with the email account set up. You submitted the following information:
i was able to add exchange without any problem but when i go to the mail it will have error 'cannot get email'. i setup all the activesycn configuration in exchange 2010 and firewall ports. i have no problem connecting from my mac laptop with outlook-mac, it sync fine with calendar/contacts/task.
I have just bought a Lumia 800 for my MD but I can't get it to connect to our exchange server. I have downloaded an SSL certificate copied from old windows mobile device (so i know the certificate is good). The certificate says it installed on the Lumia but I am still getting error message saying certificate is not trusted. I suspect the certicate is installed in the wrong place on the phone.
Everytime I try to setup a connection to our Exchange 2007 server on corporate synce on my Defy+ I get the message "Could not connect to the server"I have sucessfully set it up on a Defy and other Android phone's, is there something different about the Defy+?
I have had my blackberry for 6 months, it was brand new purchased and still uses the orignal sim card which is on boost mobile australia. I can not recieve or send calls and texts. My top rift concer has full singal and has EDGE wrote there. My internet is fine tho. I have pulled out the battery, I have completely reset the phone and nothing.
First I was trying to pair the Xperia Pro with my laptop using Pc companion, but the software toldme that my equip doesn't support this. So, There's another way to exchange files between the mobile and laptop without use the bluetooh (too slow) or use the usb cable (this disable some apps)
Hey, I am having issues connecting my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1) to my Exchange 2010 server. When I create the account in my iPhone it verifys and leads me to believe the account is functional. When i go to send/receive mail, I receive a "Connection to the server failed" error. I have port 443 open on my firewall and can send/receive from OWA.I have rebuilt the account numerous times with both SSL turned on and off (both server and phone side).I have no special policies configured on the server either.
I am trying to connect my exchange email to my iPhone without using active sync. I am able to connect it to the Mac mail program on my MacBook pro with out ay issues. Can this be done on the iPhone? Please instruct.
I just setup on my iMac my works Microsoft Exchange Profile so I can view my calendar and email all from macmall.
It works perfect. When i go to do the same settings on my iPhone, for some reason it won't connect. It does ask me for a domain which the imac did not but I leave it blank.
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.1), 3.2 GHz Intel Core i3
I've done a bit of digging, trying to find a solution to my problem before I posted, but most posts in the vein of a Media Card unrecognized/unable to format trail off into "is your SD card bad?" with no response following. So here's where I stand:
My phone: Blackberry Curve 8330 My Carrier: Verizon My OS: v4.5.0.175
2gb media card has been used in phone since purchase in July '08. As of 2 weeks ago, phone no longer reads media card. Media card is recognized by phone (meaning phone detects whether card is present or not). Error message of "Media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is formatted." Attempts to format via phone fail immediately. When plugging into computer via USB (with Mass-Storage Enabled), Blackberry device is recognized, but no media card is present. A greyed-out drive ( I: ) appears in My Computer, but is inaccessable and cannot be checked, opened, or formatted (Error message; "Please insert a disk into drive I: ).
Attempted solutions: Have used 3 different media cards: 2gb Sony, 2gb PNY, 8gb. Each card tested via SD adapter and all read correctly in My Computer: can move files to/from, checkdisk, and reformat. Have formatted all via PC. Each card gives same error "Media card....formatted" as stated above. Hard reset (battery pull) has no effect. Have removed battery for 48 hours (in case there were any stubborn capacitors, or something like that). Have turned Mass Storage, Encryption, and Media Card support On and Off, removed and reinserted card with each parameter changed, no effect (I can give you the list of all of that, but you get the idea. I'm decently thorough). Rolled back the OS to previous version (via Desktop Manager), problem still exists. Re-upgraded to current version, no change. To sum up, the phone works fine, but the media card may as well not be there. It's not the card(s), and I don't think it's the software, given that I changed the OS up and down, so I'm assuming maybe hardware. I'd appreciate any suggestions, and if you need any further info, I'll do my best to provide.
My company just recently singed a contract with AT&T. Nearly all the employees were provided with Blackberry Curve 9360's. We use an Exchange Server (remote desktop)and Microsoft Outlook. Is there a way to sync the Curve 9360 with an Exchange Server (remote desktop) and Microsoft Outlook?
Right now we use Blackberry's at work, but when I get the iPhone 4 I would rather just use that to get my work email if I can. I know my Exchange email address (it's just user@exchange.company.com versus my normal @company.com email address) but I have a couple questions:Does Exchange allow IT depts. to lock down Exchange to approved decives/device IDs?We have to change passwords every month or so, but I never have to do anything on my Blackberry to keep getting email pushed - how does Echange handle that? Would I have to just update my password every time it changes?Just looking for experience from those who have added their work email from and Exchange server to their personal iPhone.
I've been connected to my work email account through Microsoft Exchange for the past year with no problems. I was trying to send out an email today, and my iPhone could not connect to the server. I tried to re-connect multiple times, ultimately deleting the email account from my phone and attempting to re-install it. When I put in all the info into their respective fields and hit "next," all I get is a message that says "Exchange account verification failed." When I go through and save it anyway and try and update emails, it says that it cannot connect to the server. My IT dept. says no changes were made, and I've already tried a restore and restored from a backup, as well.I have no contacts, emails, or calendar on my phone!
I am trying to add a second exchange mailbox to a Curve 9370. I read a post from last year stating that this is not possible without using a Blackberry Exchange Server.
With my new BB Curve 9300 (running OS 6) I am finding that my calendar syncing through the BES is only occurring one way. The appointments I create on the BB do not sync back the my calendar.
I have a user who, around the time of the big RIM outage, lost the ability to receive emails from her work email. At the time I just left it alone since I thought it had to do with the outage. However, she still isn't receiving emails. I've tried to troubleshoot this by re-creating her account but I keep getting authentication failures that get delivered to the users mailbox. She contacted her provider and they were no help. I've also tried setting this up on another phone and run into the same issue. As far as the server itself, there hasn't been any changes at all.
I am having some trouble adding a new MS Exchange email account through BIS to my blackberry that already has an enterprise activation (eg BES) to a different Exchange account. When I create the Exchange setup in BIS, the device never receives any email or calendar events from that account. Synchronized items only list "deleted" and nothing else.
This used to work before my corporate mail was migrated from Lotus Notes. Previous setup had BES activation with some kind of Notes conduit and I added the BIS setup for a new exchange account with a different company. This worked fine until corporate mail was moved to Exchange and I had to wipe my device and reactivate with a new BES.
Now the BIS setup just will not work. The account is created fine. I do not get any login errors. It says the account was successfully added. The problem is that the only item listed under "Enabled Synchronization Options" is Deleted items with a green checkmark. No other items are listed like Inbox or Sent.
I have an exchange mal account setup on a blackberry cruve running software V6 and the callander is not syncronising across. ive been advised ths should do it automaticly. would there be a setting i need to check or change on the blackberryf ro this to happen?
I am having trouble fixing my BB Curve 8520, I can connect to my Wi-fi (home) but everytime I use the browser it says Cannot connect to the internet. Please contact your service provider, which I did. What could have happened to my device? What settings should I change to get back on using my BB to connect to the internet?
I just bought an HD2 and being the moron that I am, thought that a program I downloaded would unlock my HD2. I think it may have bricked my phone. When I press the power button, it will do nothing. When I plug it into the computer, it does recognize the device as if it is on.
I just connected my new n86 to the laptop which has win7 build 7600 ultimate and now it shows it as "S60 Handset" in the taskbar instead of nokia n86 before and even now if i connect the 5800 it shows it as "Nokia 5800 XpressMusic" anyway the ovi suite reads it well and everything is ok im able to read and write all memories (phone, mass, m.card) but why is this happening?
previous hardware with new Cisco DPC3941T. Ever since, my cel phone (HTC One M7 running Android 5.0.2) will not auto-reconnect after a timeout. Under the previous config, there was never an issue.
So let's start at the beginning --
1) I just chose to "Forget" my home network on my cell.
2) I scan for new networks & choose the 2.4 OR the 5 segment. Enter password, Connect first time.
3) Run variety of tasks just fine, let the phone go to sleep.
4a) Pick up the phone after just a few minutes, still connected. Good.
4b) Pick up the phone after more than just a few minutes (?), the reconnect attempt errors out.
5) The only way to reconnect is to repeat steps (1) & (2) above.
