BB Bold :: 9900 : Display Gets Dark During Call?
May 10, 2012blackberry bold 9900: on any call, the display dims down within some seconds, all keys and the touch screen are disabled except the "end call" key. I need the "mute" and "loudspeaker" functions which are usually displayed on the screen during a call, So they are displayed on mine, but they are disfunctional and vanish when the display dims dark.Even if I put the blackberry on the desktop and keep 0.5m distance from it, it dims to dark screen within 2 seconds after pressing the "call" key, and even an immediate press on the "loudspeaker" icon in the left bottom corner of the touchscreen within these 2 seconds is ignored.

Nov 5, 2015I dont have my phone just yet, but i've played with one recently. and i noticed when trying to compare it with my galaxy s5 that when i was recording video at night there was display lag. What i mean is i'd pan the camera left and the screen was a half second behind it. I've experienced this before with older phones usually from the shutter speed i believe? but when samsung somehow did away with it (at least with my s5) I was unexpectant to see it again.

Apr 10, 2010About a 2 months ago when I would connect my blackberry storm (the first Storm) to my computer via the USB cord that came with the phone, I was able to transfer music from my computer (itunes) to the blackberry through Blackberry Media Sync with no problems (open Blackberry Media Sync, connect blackberry to computer via USB, and Media Sync screen would change so that I could sync music to the blackberry storm). I didn't even have trouble installing Blackberry Media Sync back in December 2009
But now after I connect my Blackberry Storm to my computer, the Blackberry Media Sync screen does not change and continues to display "Please connect a Blackberry Device". I have tried these tips that I found online:
1.) restarting my computer (windows vista) several times
2.) updating/reinstalling Blackberry Media Sync and then restarting my computer
3.) reconnecting blackberry to computer, then opening Media Sync
4.) opening Media Sync first and then connecting blackberry to computer.
5.) installing BlackBerry USB and Modem Drivers (even though I can't find the USB driver for it under Universal Serial Bus Controller when I check in the Device Manager when you go to Control Panel - System and Maintenance - Device Manager, but I did find RIM Virtual Series Port v2 COM4 & COM5 when you check "devices by connection" under View in Device Manager) Or are RIM Virtual Series Port v2 COM4 & COM5 the drivers I'm looking for ?
6.) Going to Options (on blackberry) - Memory and making sure Media Card Support, Media Transfer Protocol (MTO) and Mass Storage Mode Support are set to "On", Encryption Mode is set to "None", and Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected it set to "Prompt" though I have tried "Yes" as well. It says I have 785MB of free Device Memory space out of 879MB of total Device Memory and 7.1GB of free Media Card space out of a total of 7.3GB of Media Card space.
None of the above tips and troubleshooting advice has worked. I have also checked the Blackberry Technical Solution Center but I haven't found anything from there that has helped either. I have found online forums/discussions including issues of people having "blackberry media sync cannot connect to the device" pop-up, but I haven't had this pop-up. The Media Sync screen just stays the same as if I never connected the blackberry storm to my computer in the first place even though my blackberry storm is charging via the computer.
Is there something I'm missing or haven't done yet? What should I do?

Mar 29, 2010After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..."
I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
BB Torch :: Desktop Cant Recognise It Via Usb
Dec 20, 2011my desktop software cudnt recognise my fone via usb, i dont have bluetooth, tried many ways to no avail !!, so i tried a battery pull an inserted my usb an had the option to update my device software, so i clicked on it an it was uploading fine, until, it came up a box saying "cannot connect to device, insert battery an click retry" so i inserted the battery and continued, but as the phone came alive the white initializing bar shot up to around halfway thru, an got the same error 507 again, an the installation will not continue? c the same error occurs when the usb is unplugged too?

I do not know how to get Desktop Manager (6.0 Bundle 1165) to recognize Outlook. May 17, 2012Until last Tuesday, I was away on holidays. Prior to this my Blackberry was working perfectly. However since coming back, I noticed that my laptop & handset do not talk. I was told by the Blackberry software that my handset needed a new upgrade. I tried to upgrade, but this failed & in the meantime, my contacts which were supposedly backed up were obliterated. It claimed the fact that I had a password (which I used to stop my phone making phone calls without my knowing in my pocket) was preventing the upgrade from happening.

Aug 17, 2010I love my BB Torch, but I'm about to take it back just because I can't get desktop manager 6 working. everytime I start it on my windows 7 computer, it crashes. I've installed it, reinstalled it, and rebooted my computer so many times in the last 2 days that I'm shocked the power button is still working ont he computer. at least desktop manager 5 worked with my blackberry bold. I tried to email RIM and ask them about the issue, but after sifting through all the crap on their web page, I finally gave up.
