I am a new Blackberry user. I did not lock the screen before putting phone in my pocket. Later I realized that what ever happened, the Desktop Icon no longer appears. However, I can find it when I search for it. I hope there is an easy remedy to bring back Icon.
View 2 RepliesI have a new Torch. The other day my phone ran out of battery and when I rebooted, my "desktop" folder with my work email was no longer on the phone. I am still recieving work emails in my "messages" folder, but the email folder is nowhere to be found. My company has reactivated my account about 5 times and I have taken out my battery at least 10 and it still does not show up.

Re-installed, to be sure; still not there. Plowed through the on-line docs to find that the icon will be missing if there's no mdmgen.inf in my Windows (XP), but it's there. Yes, there's a "Standard Modem" in my computer modems list. So -- why no "IP Modem" icon? Don't know if this is relevant, but my Blackberry is a 9530 from Verizon.

My contacts are still there, I can find them by searching but don't have an icon on my home page (or anywhere else) to click on to add new contacts or find old ones. Can anyone advise what I've done? I've tried synching with my laptop but that hasn't brought the icon back, and I've powered off. I backed up to the cloud earlier but am a bit bothered about trying a full restore! Besides, the contacts icon was missing when I last backed up, so it probably wouldn't come back anyway!
