BB Torch :: Calendar Attachments Not Visible On Phone?
Jun 14, 2010
When i get an appointment with a pdf attached, the attachment is not visible on the phone, neither in my email nor in the calendar event. If I log into my email account, the attachment is there at the end of the email.
Currently, BB Calendar does not support attachments in Outlook calendar events. Is this going to change anytime soon? It sure is a pain to email appts to yourself in order for pics and PDFs to make it to your device...
Perhaps I'm not doing things correctly, but I've noticed that when I receive a calendar invitation which contains attached documents from my work Exchange account, I can't retrieve the attachments except under specific circumstances.
When I receive an invitation and it is still in my email inbox, there is a link to the attachment. If I click it then before looking at the event details, I can view and save the attachment (I have automatic download of attachments turned off - I need to turn it on and see what happens). In the above case, If I go to view the event in my calendar first and accept the invitation, the item is removed from my inbox and any attachments are no longer accessible. In all cases, events in my calendar with attached documents do not show any attached documents. I've not found a way to get access to attachments that I know are in Calendar entries from work.
Is this pilot error or a "feature" of the email and calendar client apps?
As you already know, the ring volume on the Torch 9800 is extremely low. So I tried to email custom mp3 ringtones to my phone to use instead. In attempting to do so, I received a message saying "More request cannot be completed. Service book information not found." I also received this message when trying to email a photo to my blackberry. This never use to happen in past blackberries I have owned.
How do I fix this "service book information not found" issue ?
I was able to see my media files (Pictures, Songs & Videos) from my phone but when I synchronized my phone with my PC I am unable to see these files. Also I am unable to see all the folders that i had created in my phone. But when I connect my phone i can browse these files through my PC.
I am using BlackBerry Torch 9800. The device had App Center visible in "All Program Menu". But since last few weeks the App Center is no longer visible. How can I retrieve that back.
I received my Torch due to my work, an evaluation unit given away by RIM in my region (finally a freebie after 11 years of covering the telecom sector!). I notice that the Documents to Go section has 100s of pdfs - about service level agreements and warranties in various countries. Some are as big as 5MB, so I want to delete them. (I'm guessing there are 200 - it takes 21 swipes of my finger to scroll down to the bottom of the list)
Trouble is.. when I connect to BBerry Desktop I can't find these files anywhere! Documents to Go shows up as empty.
On the device, when I click on Docs to Go this opens up as 'all files', with a folder icon saying Browse, and all these pdfs listed below that. 'Browse' leads to the folder groupings for camera, audiobooks, docs, music, etc. and the pdfs do not appear to be inside any of those.
So my only option is to delete each pdf one by one? On the handset is there some way to 'select' bunches of them and delete all at a time? I thought maybe I could do this using Windows Explorer, but whenever I click on the Flash Drive icon that represents the Torch memory I can't get in to see what's there (it says something like 'insert the disk you wish to view with this drive')
Files in the csv format are unable to display in my bb torch 9860, update me any application I need to install to display the csv files. I went thru documents to go (option) when browsing for the file it is not showing csv file in the media card.
My browser started giving me a white stripe where the webpage was not visible around 4 months ago, but it was sporadic. Now every page I go to, whether google, or facebook, or any webpage, the white stripe exists and I am not able to view the entire contents. They are there because I can click links that are coded, but the text and pictures are not complete.
I used to get pictures when I get a tex. For some reason my DD sent me 8 times the same picture and I can't get the picture now with her tex's. And my hubby also sent a picture with a tex and no picture. All I did was add a new wifi conection... Did I hit a button and turn something off.
I just got the BB torch.. and when I try to open a PDF attachment in an email.. I get the following message: "This attachment type cannot be viewed on your device".
From what I've read around on the internet, PDF files in attachments can be viewed through the BlackBerry operating system attachment viewer.
I have a BB Torch 9800.I am using the BB desktop software 6.0 bundle 2647 to Sync. I have gone under Organizer tab, then the Select Organizer Data to Synchronize.I have hit the reset settings and reset calendar, memo, address and tasks and it says it has configured successfully. However, after I hit OK, it says calendar is "not installed"every thing is syncing except the calendar.
I have 3 users all with blackberry torches 2 of those users are on Telus Network and connected to BES Express the thrid user is on Rogers Network and not connected to BES Express The Rogers user is able to download any attachment, the Telus users are not. Each user got the same email with the same attachment, a csv file. I know blackberries can't read csv files, but the user can downlad the attachment to the BB and change the extensipon to .txt, then they will be able to open the file. Like I said the Rogers user can do this, but the Telus ones can't. The BES express policy is the default one, which as far as I can tell, is blank.
I use Torch 9860 with Vodafone UK. It is not a corporate account, and I have my own personal gmail setup in the phone.
I was able to forward attachments in email that I received, but all of a sudden today, the email has started to act funny. I was forwarding an email with attachment to my work account, the attachment gone missing when I was sending the email. The content of the email was fine, but just the attachment could not be attached to the email forwarded. it said "No message service configured". This is really strange, as I can still send email out only without attachment.
I wiped my phone to try and restored the data from the blackberry protect.
I have never had a problem opening email attachments on my torch until yesterday. I have rebooted and made sure all my device software is up to date and still no joy.
I have installed Contact Group Manager in my X10 and created a Group for few contacts.. Those Contacts which are in that Group is not visible in the Phone Book.
I was on my last day of holiday fone was fully charged and working fine after a.new software update i was out for lunch fone still working and by 4pm its was off with no signs of life plugged it in to charge and still nothing. I flew home with the phone in my suitcase and when i got home i put it on charge and it had a red flashing light so i left it because its the most amount of life i had seen from it.
When I woke 3-4 hours later the screen powered on with the. Charging sign visible and charging i left it like that untill it was 100% and powered it on it worked for around 20 mins and same again died with no sign of life. For the last 24 hours ot has been on charge and only seem to get a flashing red light or a slow flashing light(when attached to.a comp, still didnt connect to pc companion). I have all hols photos videos on it that I haven't backed up yet and all contacts are stored on phone ...
We purchased two 9800 Torch phones and both are having the same issue. Word, Excel, and PDF files all open fine on the devices. However, some emails will be received with attachments but the phone does not give the open or download attachment options. If you forward the message from the device, the attachment will still be attached. The issue is intermittent and I have not been able to pin down any consistently as I have received several emails with attachments successfully. The emails that will not give the attachment options also do not have the little paperclip on the email icon from the messages view. Again, hen this exact email is forwarded the attachment will arrive at the destination.
BES version 4.1.7.19 Both users had no issues on prior devices with multiple attachments opened daily.
I recently bought a Nexus 5 and it has a dark patch on the screen. This is visible only when the phone is in a locked state. Initially i thought it was dust but the patch stayed on. I have attached the image...
I was trying to send 2 pictures(total size abt 2MB) as an email attachment using my IMAP mailbox and mail reached outbox, but it never sent out. Since this attempt my mailbox behaves wierdly and does not sync emails properly. So I removed the mailbox and I set it up again. Still there are few issues with sync but atleast emails are coming & going. Also I tried again to send a very small size file as an attachment but in the compose email screen when I do attach the file, nothing happens and it automatically comes out of the mailbox. The email is saved in drafts folder with no attachment . can someone confirm if attachments are support by E72 email client ?I am on 031.023 FW and I have set up email using 'Other' option in the Set Email wizard.
Is it possible to get the calendar in my blackberry to talk with the calendar in Microsoft outlook automaticaly with out using the cable to sync the 2 devices on desktop.
sync my Outlook Calender with my Torch wirelessly. I set up my Outlook Exchange E-mail successfully (though it would be nice if I could move e-mails to Outlook folders as well).
How do I sync Torch Calendar with my Outlook Calendar wirelessly?
I logged into another gmail account on my phone, I did without any problem, viewed/deleted some emails, and logged off. I then re-logged into my higher usage email (the main one I use on everything and the phone is registered with). I had the "Smooth Calender" app isntalled, but uninstalled that because the update happened around the email checking and it started acting goofy when I updated anyway. After I did that, I went to check my calender on my phone to schedule appointments and noticed that my calender is almost completely empty. I checked my calender online under the account email that I currently have it synced to and it is full like I have it. Now the situation is when I enter a calender event online it WILL NOT sync to my phone, nor has any of the repeat events synced.
When I enter an event in my phone, it syncs to the online calender AND to the phone with reminders and such if I set it up that way.I cleared the gmail cache on the phone (but did NOT clear data, didn't know if that is advisable), I checked to make sure the correct calenders are checked to sync. I also went to Settings > Account > 'Account in question' and made sure it was selected.I DO NOT see an auto sync feature anywhere on the phone, and I can't remember having checked it before and didn't have a problem with anything until I did the logging into and back out of my emails. What can I do, or need to do, to fix this? My calender is very important to me as I always have my phone on me and don't always have a paper calender on me.
I can send text messages but not photos to one phone on our account. This used to work but does not work now. I can still send photos to the other phone on our account & to other phones.
How I can sync my BB Torch calendar on to my Micrsoft calendar on my PC - which in turn I want to sync onto my iPad2. I am having problems trying to change the CICAL of the calendar to default on my BB. For some reason when I put in a calendar entry on my BB it has my e-mail on the top, which I don't want.
My Galaxy S5 is set up to synchronize with my Microsoft exchange server. Emails synchronize perfectly and calendar events entered on my Microsoft exchange account synchronize with my Galaxy S5. The problem is, calendar events entered on my Galaxy S5 do not synchronize to my Microsoft Exchange calendar.
Samsung SGH-t749 using New PC Studio ver. 1.2.0 IEC. When I try to sync Outlook Calendar with the phone calendar it runs out of memory. I don't know if it is using the internal mem., but I don't see a way to direct it to use the SD card. It also mentions that it is getting email info from Outlook. Does this mean that it is also syncing the address book? I only want to keep the calendar on the phone synced. Anyone have any input?
How can I change it to play through the phone's regular earpiece? I've looked at the Sound settings, and couldn't find anything. Sounds are processed by the phone's default sound app. The volume is controlled through the Media volume control.
