I have a BlackBerry Torch 9800 and recently I've been having a problem with words on the browser screen not showing up. I haven't changed any settings or downloaded any programs that I can think of which would have caused the problem. It mostly effects words that have a hyperlink, but some pages don't have any type showing at all.

About 6 weeks ago, I started to see missing words/phrases in my browser at many different websites and at various times. Some pages are missing over 50% of the links and/or text. I tried a battery pull, nothing. I tried clearing history/cache, etc, nothing. I unchecked Auto-Detect Text Encoding, nothing. Tried to various Defalt Text Encoding options, no change.
I can browse the Internet no problems however, instead of seeing say an article there are no words. All I can see is a blank space where the words should be. I can't even do a google search properly. It will let me click on the articles and it will open them up but nothing inside. Pictures show but no words!
View 6 Replies View Relatedhow do I adjust the settings so that the spell checker doesn't automatically change words, ie right now everytime I type mo (for mobile) it changes the word to month without asking.
But I dont want to switch spell check off completely, and still want the spell checker to underline words that are wrong and suggest corrections when you click on the underlined word.
When I had my 8310 curve there were a crapload of options in the brower settings and one of them was to select which type of brower it viewed the webpage as, (blackberry, IE, etc.)
anyways, I'd like to know if this option still exists, because I'm trying to access a mobile website but its coming up as the full website. When I tried putting an m. in front of the website it didnt work so I'm not sure how to access it.
I'm using the NMT basically just for browsing my cell memory and moving files. I own a C6-01 running belle and my mac is running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.Now, when i click on the Device browser, even after cleaning all NMT files and settings, the program starts caching all the files on memory, but the browser never shows up, even after the caching is over.
Any plans for supporting mac related nokia software? Been using the Nokia Suite on PC for updating to belle (not my pc though) and i find it really good.The plan for something similar fo mac has been definitely dropped, right?
I just got a replacement 8900 from AT&T cause mine wouldn't let me upgrade to the 5.0 OS so I got a new one to see if it was my phone or just 8900's from at&t in general.
I had my old phone backed up, i just restored it and am now uploading apps and such.
But it's my browser that isn't what it should be..
on my old 8900 on the browser config, i had 3 options.. media net, hot spot and internet browser. and the IB is what i kept it on. but the new 8900 only has an option for hot spot and media net, and i don't want to use either of those :s
so, does anyone know how i could fix it and get my IB back?

not just on finance pages, but on all pages, random story titles or information are just missing.
lets say i log into yahoo mail on my browser, the persons name will only show for a random one of the 25 mails on the page. the rest its click ?too much of the content on the browser is just being blanked out and not showing up. i cant seem to find any updates for the browser. i have tried rebooting.blackberry torch - att 3g type.
i have recently activated the data plan on my phone, and now i am still not able to set up the connection so i can use it on the go. when i'm connected to home wi-fi i can use the browser but not other apps like windows msger, and when i'm out even though i do have a data plan on my phone i'm not able to use the browser, or anything. i can't set up email either because the error msg keeps showing up saying i don't have the right configurations/failed to connect to server.
View 2 Replies View RelatedA few days ago i wasnt able to use any data apps such as BBM, Facebook etc...then I wasn't able to use my browser, even though it says im connected to the internet and I have a full signal.I've backed up my BB and did a security wipe and restored it, but it's still not working, and now i cant get activate my email account either!My BIS is not connected...I assume thats a major problem, and Rogers said they can do nothing about this (because my phone is not a Rogers phone, and has been unlocked, and I dont know who the previous provider was)

There are a lot of times I want to see the full version of websites not the web version.Maybe I am just stupid and didn't understand what I saw or how it works, but on my 9000 I can change the browser identification to say Firefox and get the full web page to load.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was running a few tests to see check speed of my browser on my home network over ATT. When I disable the Mobile Network and enable wifi to my home network, I get an error in my browser "You are not currently in an area that can handle data communication".
I connected successfully to my home network as shown by status on top of home screen. Is there another setting I need to select to 'force" use of my home network? I used to have this in my BOLD settings under browser options, but from what I read the connection switch is supposed to happen automatically on the Torch browser.
Every few days the browser will stop working properly. It only displays the page partially.....some words are just simply gone and some hyperlinks are just displayed as a line. It happens on multiple websites. I have been to the ATT store several times and they have checked all of the settings and reset the device. All cache and cookies have been cleared. I have also spoken with support on the phone and they had me delete some service books and they resent them. The only way I can correct the issue is to pull the battery, but it just happens a few days later.

Before when I would google a business or look at a website it would detect phone numbers and let me dial them. Now I have to write the number down or memorize it which is a pain. I have searched and read all the threads on this and people say to make a link <> but that seems pretty rediculous just to make calls. Then people say its the website and its not hyperlinked but if I use by buddies BB on the same site he can dial the numbers. IS there any fix for this or app that aloows me to do this.

I just purchased the 9800 and I need to change my default browser. On the 9700 you can go to Settings/Options/Advanced Options/Browser and then change the default browser settings.

If I'm using the browser, or have apps that I look at that connect to the Internet, I have parts of the screen that are blank. I can read some text, but if I scroll down about two or three inches, there will be about an inch of white blank space. It doesn't happen with my Facebook app, Gasbuddy.com, but it does happen with ESPN, CNN, Washington Post -- anything that connects straight to the Internet as opposed to going through an app.
