how do I adjust the settings so that the spell checker doesn't automatically change words, ie right now everytime I type mo (for mobile) it changes the word to month without asking.
But I dont want to switch spell check off completely, and still want the spell checker to underline words that are wrong and suggest corrections when you click on the underlined word.

I have read, and seen screenshots about the new spell check with ice cream sandwich, where it underlines the incorrectly spelled word, and then you can tap on it, and it will give you a list of suggestions. How to enable this. All I see is XT9. I have tried the XT9 spell checker, but am not impressed with it at all, as it is constantly guessing the wrong words! What settings I change in order to have the ICS spell checker.

Recently I notice, every time I leave my office or area with wifi, my network coverage doesn't change to EDGE automatically. Sometimes I get edge, sometimes nothing at all (either "X" or OFF). 1. my phone recognizes that cant and dont (without apostrophes) are misspelled words, but it still does not autocorrect them. It does pop up with word replacement and I can tap on the can't or don't suggestion, but why does the phone not automatically change it out?
2. is there a way to set which words I want replaced with something? I know the iphone has an option to switch out words but I can't find anything like that on my windows device.
I do not want to reset my dictionary as I have had the phone for a while, it is inconvenient and it seems like there would be an option to fix it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Torch and I've only had it a few weeks and all of a sudden when I write a text, bbm or email, instead of underlinging the misspelt words it's just randomly underlinging any words, ones that I know are spelt correct like you, but, and etc. and it's stopped automatically adding apostrophes or captalising words. I know it's not a huge issue but it's really annyoing.

About 6 weeks ago, I started to see missing words/phrases in my browser at many different websites and at various times. Some pages are missing over 50% of the links and/or text. I tried a battery pull, nothing. I tried clearing history/cache, etc, nothing. I unchecked Auto-Detect Text Encoding, nothing. Tried to various Defalt Text Encoding options, no change.
I think I already tried all option to disable auto-correct/auto-spell but then it's not yet disabled.

I have my iPhone settings to auto adjust time and it doesn't work or won't change the time until I restart my phone or disable then re enable auto time update. Often my iPhone doesn't pick up wifi when I come into a wi-fi zone and stays on GPRS until I go into setting, wifi and then it picks up the network. Sometimes it does it automatically but it's annoying when it doesn't. It sometimes does the same with network signal if you go into a 'No Service' area and then come out of it it often takes a long time to pick up the network signal again.
