BB Torch :: Rebooting By Itself - Concerned About Losing Contents?
Jun 24, 2011
It looks like my Blackberry Torch is rebooting. The phone has gone to the Blackberry screen with a white time line loading at the bottom. I am concerned that this is reloading the device and I could lose all my content. I have tried to switch off - unable to and when I remove and replace the battery it still resumes. Obviously I have not downloaded my contacts/diary recently.
when I have tethered for a while, if I reboot the phone afterwards, my battery drops by around 30% just on the reboot. For example, if I have 44% left after tethering and then reboot by pressing and holding the power button until the phone reboots, by the time it's finished booting (which isn't long) it has dropped to 14% and it tells me to plug the charger in. If I don't plug the charger in (this is a real mystery this bit), every few minutes, the battery will keep increasing by 1%. This is without really using the phone much that it does this. It will keep regaining that 1% every few mins until I reboot the phone again and it remains at whatever it's got up to during that time.
I'm ringing Samsung tomorrow as I am pretty sure this isn't normal behaviour. However, I would like to ask if somebody might be kind enough to tether for about half an hour or so with their s2, then reboot (using power button and holding it til phone auto reboots) and tell me if you also lose more power. And then of course, see if it starts to creep up again.I know that's quite a big ask and would only advise somebody with truly unlimited data to try it as tethering consumes a lot.Bear in mind that tethering also drains battery anyway so make sure you have at least 60% prior to trying this just in case you lose the power too.
I find it very disturbing when I want to forward an email and I am not allowed to edit the contents of it. There are some applications around that provide that functionality but they only allow you to edit emails without attachments. I don't understand why this functionality isn't built in like in android devices or iPhone. Is there any application that provides such functionality for both emails with attachments and without attachments? It is driving me crazy L
My friend has just got a blackberry torch with virgin mobile uk its all set up and ready when she tries to access the internet through the virgin browser it appears on the screen content not available.
After I recently updated my OS on the Torch (and had a ton of issues with the battery drain) I have noticed that occasionally when I am on the web it removes hyper links -- like if I'm reading a news story and it has a link to a previous story it's just blank. Or if I'm on Facebook (the mobile web edition, not the app) it has blank spots where my friends names would normally be. I can't click on a link, even when I know it's there, so the link is not only hidden but not useful.
It's happened about 5 or 6 times since the upgrade. I do pull the batter and do a reset and everything goes back to normal, but that gets annoying after awhile.
I restored my files from my 9800 to 9860 each time I turn of the phone majority of the sms messages just disappear, leaving just a few like 11 out of 2000 but when I use my torch 9800 the messages are always there. Is anyone having same problems. I have to do a restore from my backed up file to get my sms messages back.
For Torch 9800: only the touch screen buttons are working. The entire keypad and the top 5 buttons (menu, send, etc) were not working. I did several battery pulls and it finally started working. However BBM, FB, WhatsApp, BB App Store stopped working, but the web browser was still working, so it was not a connectivity problem. Then the keyboard problem started again. I did another battery pull and is started working again, but still to access to FB, BBM or Whatsapp,
my girlfriend recently purchased the torch 9810 and the clock on it keeps changing by itself. Mystery to me why but we've played with and changed all the clock settings including putting it onto manual time, auto on our time zone, entering the time itself, etc. but the stupid thing insists on changing the time by itself. This is one of a few problems we've had so far and our confidence is starting to drain in the blackberry phones.if only she'd of listened to me and had an iPhone.
I have been so sad all day.My blackberry Torch has been going on and off all by itself. In the middle of a phone or when kept idle it just starts to reboot all by itself. i dunno if its coz of new applications i downloaded.I tried to delete them but when i press delete it restarts and they are still there.
today my blackberry started to reboot itself.after the reboot it works for about an hour.and then it reboots again. i updated the operating system but it still reboots.
when I installed the latest upgrade to BlackBerry OS 6 on my Torch, I lost the hours of work I had put into entering composing shortcuts into AutoText. Can my hard work, and the wonderful shortcuts, be retrieved?
my BlackBerry Torch 9800 is in a rebooting loop. I was downloading an update to an app from the BB App World, and then it started to install (also had a notification that it was installing), then two seconds later, the screen went black. Later, the LED flashed red and started to boot. Then, it kept on doing this in a loop.
My BB Torch 9810 is less than 3 months old. Yesterday Morning, I observed that it went off. I thot the battery was down, so I decided to charge it. Then it began the booting and rebooting and has not stopped till now. My BB pin is (personal info removed) perhaps there is something remotely that can be done.
My blackberry tocrch has been rebooting itself for months. I installed the new OS update like the person from AT&T said and upgraded all of my applications. It is still rebooting itself numerous times a day.
I just downloaded BB Protect, then my phone turned off and rebooted, but before the white line could reach the end (just before starts), it shows a blank white screen and reboots again..
What can I do? Was downloading BB Music and now Telus is telling me to buy a new phone. It's not like I broke it. Anyway of wiping it or getting it to stop rebooting 3/4 of the way and starting over
Recently I bought a new blackberry torch 9860 and I face a serious problem. All social apps like facebook, viber, watsup, and App world losing wireless connection while device is connected to wireless network and just internet browser is working and has connection. When iIpull out the battery and but it again these apps work for while then losing connection again.
I started the contract in November 2011 with a Torch 9860.I had numerous problems with the phone freezing and randomly losing data such as texts, call logs and emails. In 9 months I've had 5 phones and 1 sim card change, 2 weeks ago BT changed the handset to a Torch 9810. The phone has worked fine till Friday when it started doing funny things like randomly receiving texts which were from old conversations. On saturday afternoon it lost all data by way of texts, call logs and emails that were over 24 hours old and in the last hour has lost everything over 6 hours old.I have all calls, texts and emails going into the messages list and have that set to save everything for ever so I can chose when to delete information. As I;m a consultant I need my call logs, texts and emails to work out my billing so this really is a pain.
I m facing problem with my BB torch. It's keep rebooting automatically. I have to run BB torch on safe mode. Even rebooting process is not completing & again start from begining.
i've tried everything possible.. even tried updating it but it doesn't give me a view other options at all.. the only thing that shows up is a box to fill in my email id and a message saying there are no blackberry device software updates available .. this is really frustrating i jst got my fone 2 weeks back and its just gone off now..
