when I installed the latest upgrade to BlackBerry OS 6 on my Torch, I lost the hours of work I had put into entering composing shortcuts into AutoText. Can my hard work, and the wonderful shortcuts, be retrieved?

Since updating to the latest version of the software about a week ago, my contacts have cloned themselves. I now have well over 100 entries for each individual contact. Contacts and messaging now takes up to a minute to open and the contacts are impossible to use. I have 2 gmail accounts, 1 activesync, 1 outlook.com account along with facebook contacts set to sync. It was all working well until the a few days ago.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows XP SP3 with Outlook 2003. When the syncronisation between my phone (6303ci) runs OVI 2.2.0.241 sometimes hangs whilst preparing for calendar sync. After restarting the the PC entries within the Outlook calendar have lost the text within the entry. i.e. the entry itself still exists but any emailed notes within the file, attached files or links disappear in Outlook. This is very frustrating as meeting agenda and other notes are missing.

Before the update, I use to be able to just double hit the space bar to make a period. Now, I've noticed that depending on the last word I typed, it will also throw in another word that it "thinks" I'm going to enter.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed on my phone bill this month that my phone had been sending literally hundreds of automatic text messages (SMS) to four numbers, at all different times of the day and night. I'm in the UK, and the numbers it's sending to are -

They're all included in my price plan, so it's not cost me anything, but I thought it was strange and started to investigate. I had noticed my text message allocation had been going down, even though most of my txts are to other iOS users, so I mostly use iMessage.
It turns out those numbers all belong to Apple - they're used for activating iMessage and FaceTime. And the reason it was trying so many times, is that the number my phone says in "my number" (Settings > Phone > My Number) isn't actually my number. I noticed this a while back, but it won't let me amend it, and because I thought it was just there for my information, I ignored it. So - I'm trying to activate iMesssage and FaceTime using my correct number. The number stored on the phone then tries to override that, attempting to activate the wrong number, which, of course, fails. So it keeps trying to activate - so far, having sent an average of 10-15 messages a day, over the course of 2 months. The incorrect number on the sim card is because I got a new account with my network (3), then swapped my old number from my previous carrier to this card. The only way to fix it is to get a new sim card, since I'm not able to amend the number stored on the sim.

Since I downloaded the latest version of the Blackberry Desktop Software, I lose 100's of calendar entries from several years ago each time I sync with MS Outlook 2007. Can't figure out where the settings are to specify date ranges.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Atrix since May 2011 and 3 times now it has completely wiped my calendar.I've looked through the forums on here but all I can find is the suggestion that syncing to gmail may be the problem. However, I am fairly certain that I have set everything to NOT sync with googlemail etc, as I do not use calendars anywhere but on my phone. Could I have missed something which means my phone is trying to sync with an empty calendar somewhere - but if so I would have expected it to do this more than 3 times in as many months?

In the menu for, say... text massaging, at the top I have two entries that read:"Reply with Vlingo" and two that read: "Translate with Navita". (There are several duplicates)
I uninstalled the app and then re-installed it, yet the duplicates are still there. Given that there are several entries and several programs that have these duplicate entries in the menu, they are cloggin up the menu.
How can I edit out the duplicates?

I tried configuring for hours but syncing still comes up trying to delete entries more than few months old, which I want to keep. View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter I recently updated my OS on the Torch (and had a ton of issues with the battery drain) I have noticed that occasionally when I am on the web it removes hyper links -- like if I'm reading a news story and it has a link to a previous story it's just blank. Or if I'm on Facebook (the mobile web edition, not the app) it has blank spots where my friends names would normally be. I can't click on a link, even when I know it's there, so the link is not only hidden but not useful.
It's happened about 5 or 6 times since the upgrade. I do pull the batter and do a reset and everything goes back to normal, but that gets annoying after awhile.
