View 1 RepliesMy Torch is about 9 months old. I had no problems with it until about a month ago. It constantly reboots. It is not software. Sometimes when you close the slider, it goes dead and reboots. I have now seen that if the slider is open and you softly wiggle the screen part it reboots.. not always.. This tells me that it is a hardware problem. A factory fault if you ask me. My wife's Torch is 2 months old. Same problem. Also reboots for nothing. Work colleague, also a torch. Just over a year old. Same problem. Reboots 4 or 5 times a day. This is definitely not software. If you put it down too hard, or keep it in your pocket. A lot of the time it reboots...

The LED indicator will be lit up for a short period of time, for a total of two times. After that, the system reboots itself. During this problematic process, I cannot use the buttons at all to try to stop it or do something else.I have reinstalled the OS Software and have done a hard reset during the red LED indicates.I don't have warranty becase I have purchase this off my friend after his warranty was over and he got himself another phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
The latest Blackberry App World is very slow on my Blackberry Torch 9800 so does any1 have a link for the BB App World 3.1.0.58

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using BB torch 9800 from last one year . From last 3 days i have been getting very slow speed of my cell & the battery is also discharging very fast. I had backed up my phone thru sofware 7 removed the videos/Snaps. Still there is no improvement in the speed. Also i have not installed any new theam/apps on my cell. whatever the theme was there at the time of purches i am running on the same. Even the empty space of memory is 4.00GB on memory card. Also how to update the basic files which comes with the phone at the time of purchase? As i do not know how to update that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using blackberry for around 10 months now. Since laast 2 weeks, my BB is very slow. If i open google news using wifi, it takes ages to scroll the same page. If i open a new link, it opens second tab but complains that low memory. try closing some tabs. I do not understand this behaviour. Also, today I was listening songs on media player and wanted to change to another song andthe player complained that the player is busy!I think the RAM of the device is either not correct or some virus is executing in background.

I was trying to access the app world but then again my Blackberry id is not authenticated due to "network problems". However, the rest of the wifi devices here at home are working perfectly. View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried to set up my emails on my BB Torch 9800. The app required an update + reboot of the phone, so I did it. Since then however, the device won't start. When I turn it on, the loading bar ends and nothing happens afterwards.Plus, I cannot connect the device to my laptop: The Desktop Software wont recognize it. Sometimes i get an error message: 507 or 606 (? not sure about this one...

View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to update my device software it backs up Ok and the gives me the following message: An error has occurred while downloading software for your device. Please verify your Internet connection or try again later, if the problem persists. I have an internet connection through my desktop. Does it need to connect through my Blackberry device or does my desktop connection suffice.

View 1 Replies View RelatedGot my Torch last weekend and this morning I get the message that the device is low on memory and showed a list of 7 apps I could choose to delete. (deleted 2, mobile banking, social feeds) Also, the little timer icon randomly pops up while the device is on and I am doing nothing. My battery has also be draining it big time. After less than 6 hours off the charger and light usage I am down to 10% battery life.I have done several battery pulls. After reboot, my Application storage shows 312.1 mb free space. My media card has 3GB free, which should not matter. The only downloaded apps I have are basic:
Google Mobile App
Google Maps
ESPN
CNN
The Weather Channel.
Battery is now down to 9% as I type this. What is going on? This should not be happening. I have never had a problem from my 9700 or 8310 previously.
I have a 9800 black berry device that I bought from Saudi Arabia. This device doesn't work any more and without any previous problems with it. So, I want to know from where I can fix my phone and how much that will cost me? By the way, I am a student in Waterloo city, so I assume that it will be much easier to solve my problem soon.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm unable to load Device Software to my phone. Have tried with various Bundle from Various Carriers, still there seems to be no luck at all. Its basically dead now with no OS on it. I've tried with various Version of DM and DS, still nothing seems to be working what so ever.My exact problem is, it's stuck at "Reconnecting to JVM" and that's it, nothing happens after that. There is a continuous blink of red light for seconds and that's it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had the Torch since the release date and fortunately I haven't had any major issues with my device, however I've noticed that there is a tiny gap between the lower left side of the bezel and the device's body. It never really caught my attention until I started typing a lot on the physical keyboard. Basically when ever my left thumb presses down on the lower left side of the bezel I notice that it slightly moves up and down and creates a soft click noise. I'm just concerned that the bezel may get worse over time. The right side of the bezel is perfectly snug against the rest of the phone but it's just the left side of the bezel that seems very slightly elevated from the phone's frame. Has anyone else noticed this on their torch?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with setting up my email account on my BlackBerry Torch 9800. Tried downgrading the os or even upgrading I still cannot setup the email. Every time I try intergrating my email it says "Device change failed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Torch for 2-3 weeks now. I do not remember ever seeing the twitter app pre installed. I certainly don't remember deleting it. When I go to twitter to download the blackberry app it gives me a notice."Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones."
I don't use twitter that much, but would like it installed in case I do. It's really not my main concern, my main concern is that this is a bigger issue that I need to get resolved before I'm stuck with a phone that doesn't work like it's supposed to and won't be able to run other apps. Any ideas? I'm still running the original OS.
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am using BB Bold 9700. I restored my data on my fone via BDM, since after that my device reboots automatically.
I have tried removing battery, also changed battery, i wiped the entire device also but it is still the same problem. While using anything it reboots by self.
The newest software upgrade is giving me fits - in addition to losing some of my favorite apps (BrickBreaker, we hardly knew ye), every time I connect my device to the PC to synch, my device automatically reboots. This is time consuming and annoying.
