I tried to set up my emails on my BB Torch 9800. The app required an update + reboot of the phone, so I did it. Since then however, the device won't start. When I turn it on, the loading bar ends and nothing happens afterwards.Plus, I cannot connect the device to my laptop: The Desktop Software wont recognize it. Sometimes i get an error message: 507 or 606 (? not sure about this one...
I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
BlackBerry Torch 9800 will not start properly, turns on, red LED light comes on, then black screen with a battery with a cross through the middle on screen.
My blackberry torch 9800 will not turn on. when i try to turn it on, the normal red LED lights up, and stays on for about 2-3 seconds but then there is another LED that lights up.There is another red LED that lights up right beside the normal LED, and it is a distinct secondary LED which turns on usually the same time as the normal LED but not all the time, sometimes it lights up on its own?
My device/phone became unresponsive, so I took the battery our to do a full reset. Now the phone stays on a continuous loop trying to start. Blackberry Torch 9800.
I reloaded the OS on my BB Torch 9800 and now when I start the phone it gets stuck on the licence agreement screen. I cannot scroll with either the touch screen or the track pad to accept.
On other BB's I've moved pictures from the device to the media card using the "move" function - I can't find this on the Torch. Am I overlooking something or will I have to use Desktop Manager?
Recently, my blackberry just started displaying a "No Battery" symbol...I had switched off my device inorder to insert my SIM card, and after i tried to switch on the handheld, it displayed a "no battery "symbol... i let it charge for the next day.... and yet again..... it continued it's displayal of the same "no battery" symbol
How do you exit the AIM app on the Torch? I started it by mistake and now the normal Menu->Close just hides the app in the background. How do I EXIT for real. Why do they make it so difficult while trying to make it so "pretty" and simple?
How do I change the device name, at the beggining of setup it asked me for a name and i put the wrong one, how do i change it, when i get a message and reply it says the wrong name.
Every time I try to update my device software it backs up Ok and the gives me the following message: An error has occurred while downloading software for your device. Please verify your Internet connection or try again later, if the problem persists. I have an internet connection through my desktop. Does it need to connect through my Blackberry device or does my desktop connection suffice.
How long does it take on the average to update a Touch 9800 software. Mine seems to be taken too long, wonder if its still loading, its says connecting to device (This might take up to 30 minutes), but its been here for like 50 minutes now.
Got my Torch last weekend and this morning I get the message that the device is low on memory and showed a list of 7 apps I could choose to delete. (deleted 2, mobile banking, social feeds) Also, the little timer icon randomly pops up while the device is on and I am doing nothing. My battery has also be draining it big time. After less than 6 hours off the charger and light usage I am down to 10% battery life.I have done several battery pulls. After reboot, my Application storage shows 312.1 mb free space. My media card has 3GB free, which should not matter. The only downloaded apps I have are basic:
Google Mobile App Google Maps ESPN CNN The Weather Channel.
Battery is now down to 9% as I type this. What is going on? This should not be happening. I have never had a problem from my 9700 or 8310 previously.
I have a 9800 black berry device that I bought from Saudi Arabia. This device doesn't work any more and without any previous problems with it. So, I want to know from where I can fix my phone and how much that will cost me? By the way, I am a student in Waterloo city, so I assume that it will be much easier to solve my problem soon.
How do I transfer videos stored on my DEVICE (not the media card) to my computer? When I connect with the USB cable, all I see are the videos stored on the card.it's rather important that I get this done.
I'm unable to load Device Software to my phone. Have tried with various Bundle from Various Carriers, still there seems to be no luck at all. Its basically dead now with no OS on it. I've tried with various Version of DM and DS, still nothing seems to be working what so ever.My exact problem is, it's stuck at "Reconnecting to JVM" and that's it, nothing happens after that. There is a continuous blink of red light for seconds and that's it.
I shut off my Blackberry Torch today morning before a flight and after that I could restart it - it allways ends with the symbol "no batterie". It starts a little bit the normal start up procedure (1 or 2 mm from the white nooting line I can see) and than it stopps and shows me the battery symbol. How can I fix this urgently - I'm on a business trip and I need the BB!
I've had the Torch since the release date and fortunately I haven't had any major issues with my device, however I've noticed that there is a tiny gap between the lower left side of the bezel and the device's body. It never really caught my attention until I started typing a lot on the physical keyboard. Basically when ever my left thumb presses down on the lower left side of the bezel I notice that it slightly moves up and down and creates a soft click noise. I'm just concerned that the bezel may get worse over time. The right side of the bezel is perfectly snug against the rest of the phone but it's just the left side of the bezel that seems very slightly elevated from the phone's frame. Has anyone else noticed this on their torch?
I am having problems with setting up my email account on my BlackBerry Torch 9800. Tried downgrading the os or even upgrading I still cannot setup the email. Every time I try intergrating my email it says "Device change failed.
I've had my Torch for 2-3 weeks now. I do not remember ever seeing the twitter app pre installed. I certainly don't remember deleting it. When I go to twitter to download the blackberry app it gives me a notice."Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones."
I don't use twitter that much, but would like it installed in case I do. It's really not my main concern, my main concern is that this is a bigger issue that I need to get resolved before I'm stuck with a phone that doesn't work like it's supposed to and won't be able to run other apps. Any ideas? I'm still running the original OS.
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
The one I played with in the store yesterday didn't have prongs for a pod. Anyone else bummed that the Torch doesn't have charging prongs on it for use in a pod?
i had a blackberry torch 9800 which i backed up to the blackberry desktop then it was sent away for a repair and they replaced it with anew 9800 i have tried to recover everything from the desktop but it says i need the old blackberry first?
