My 9800 worked fine until I upgraded to the new version of bbm via bb apps. Now I see the "thinking clock" on my screen more than anything else, my battery is dead by mid morning and my device is extremely slow. How do I fix this?

Quite a while ago (months) I had an email from RIM / blackberry whatever saying there was a software update (OS 5) and to follow the links to upgrade etc or use the wireless update on my phone - which just told me there were no new updates. After researching for a bit I found what I thought would allow me to get the OS software but I had to fill in 'company name' to continue (mandatory box to fill in) I'm just a student I have no company2. When I download specific apps my BB just buggers up totally, any theme not by RIM makes my BB run incredibly SLOW and new messages cannot be viewed despite the notification appearing. This has happened with apps such as paypal and subway card which you would think would work well.
This has even happened with the new spring themes from RIM - so I have to remove them as soon as downloading them. My girlfriend's Lumia 1020 is unbelievably slow. It takes forever to load apps like Messenger or WhatsApp, etc.
Any app in general. Just really slow to load up. It's also laggy sometimes.
WP is a really efficient system, so there must be a software-related fix, as the hardware is still good. She is running WP 8.1 Developer Preview. She doesn't have a ton of apps, and she closes her apps after using them. I know she doesn't have a lot of space left of storage, around 1.2 GB, but it's something.
The latest Blackberry App World is very slow on my Blackberry Torch 9800 so does any1 have a link for the BB App World 3.1.0.58

I had backed up my phone thru sofware 7 removed the videos/Snaps. Still there is no improvement in the speed. Also i have not installed any new theam/apps on my cell. whatever the theme was there at the time of purches i am running on the same. Even the empty space of memory is 4.00GB on memory card.Also how to update the basic files which comes with the phone at the time of purchase? As i do not know how to update that.

If i open a new link, it opens second tab but complains that low memory. try closing some tabs. I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.

I do a battery pull and I start with 36MB free by the end of the day say 16 hours later I am done to 21 or 22 MB. I have to do a battery pull every day to reset memory.
