I was a lifetime VZW customer and switched to AT&T in January for the 9700.
When I looked at a 9800 two days ago, they told me that they would give me an early upgrade if I wanted one. ( Contract price + $75 ) What exactly determines if you get an early upgrade and how often?
Bought new 3gs last xmas and have an eligibility date of may of 2011. If I early upgrade, do I get the full subsidized price next May or does the K start all over?

Just did an OS upgrade on my 9800 when I saw an upgrade alert on BlackBerry Desktop Software.The OS after upgrade is 6.0 bundle 2342 (v6.0.0.526 platform 6.6.0.195)Now when I run my application to do the voice record (WAV format, not AMR ), I keep getting an error "Requested bitrate is not supported", I tried different bitrate (8000,16000, 44100, 48000....), none of them supported.I used to use bitrate=8000 for recording and it worked, but now it throw above exception.I even change encoding bit from 16 to 8bit, channel from 1 to 2, didn't work.

As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.

I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.

Sometimes it backs up in the middle of the night but more often it seems to back up in the morning when I "wake" it up while leaving it plugged in. When I get up in the am I, leaving it plugged in, check for messages, news etc.Later in the day when I check when the last time it did an iCloud backup - it seems to be after I did that early morning check but before I unplug it for the day - usually 10 minutes in between.It also seems to not want to do a backup in less than 24 hours - which I can understand.So - on Sundays it may back up at 7:00 am, for instance, but then doesn't back up on Monday am since I'm up and out of the house before 7. Some days it does back up in the middle of the night but I can't figure out why. I can always do the "backup now" option but just wondering if anyone knows how it schedules and is there a way to influence that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs per my other thread: What happened to my 8900 camera quality? upgraded from OS 4.6 to 5.0.0.681 i've discovered what the problem is with why I am not getting the same quality photos as on the OS 4.6 on my 8900 curve, it's the picture size in kb. on 4.6 i would at the very least always get photos of size 460kb minimum (usually i get 700kb +) whereas on 5.0.0.681 now i get on average only 180kb WHY? bear in mind i've kept all the settings on the highest possible i.e. superfine and picture on 'large' yet for some reason i'm only getting low quality pics.. it's very frustrating.I have a feeling the lighting makes a difference but also maybe the memory/space on the media card. BUT I have 120mb of memory left and 400mb of space on my media card.What makes the blackberry take pictures at lower quality in terms of size in kb and larger?so far i've managed to get 1 photo at 460kb on OS 5.0.0.681 but i dont know how or why exactly but at least i know it's capable of getting pics that large. Do I need over 500mb of media card space for it to take larger size pics?

But, currently I'm no longer living there but It still detects Malaysia as my country. For a while, even Google Now thought I was a tourist when I came back to my home country but after reformatting I can no longer use Google Now since, it's not available in here. However, the store is still set to Malaysian Playstore. I do not wish to change this because my country playstore is really boring and dull. My school e-mail is weird because when I go inside everything looks exactly like gmail but it isn't exactly gmail beacuse you can't sign on from www.gmail.com. Gotta go through the school website. So currently At&t will charge you $325 if you cancel you contract after 30 days however if I read correctly, you can cancel you contact before the 30 days and not get charged at all? Sometimes you can see them in the preview area but when you click on them you get a weird icon that looks like a wheel. Sometimes even in the preview area you cannot see the pic at all.Still on the official OS that came with the phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? I recently swapped out to a larger memory card but I had the problem on both cards.
