My phone needs the volume turned right up so I can make a normal call, if it isn't right up I can't hear anything, have tried cleaning it but that made no difference. Does anyone know if this is a known fault?
View 3 RepliesI have had a white Z5 Compact for a week and have now noticed that the bottom speaker is much louder than the top, ruining the stereo effect. I am sure it did not come this way out of the box. I didn't notice until after the recent firmware update (32.0.A.6.152), but cannot know whether this is the cause of the problem. I went through the hassle of factory reset and the phone still has the problem. I haven't subjected the phone to any physical trauma at all and will be returning it.

Also because the speaker's quiet I can't hear my ringtone when I receive a call :/
I'm thinking of sending it for repair so I picked up a freepost return form from the Carphone Warehouse and it says to keep the Sim and memory card only but on the Nokia site the form says to hold onto the battery and battery case too?? Can anyone help me with this?Also I take it I send it back in the box right? With a proof of purchase?
My speaker seems very quiet compared to my wife's phone which is exactly the same. Iv done the YouTube tutorials but no luck there. Other than swapping it with her in doors, is there something I'm missing.

I bought my Xperia SK17a a few months back in Vancouver, I then moved to Mexico, I unlocked it here in Mexico and it has always worked fine except for one thing: when I plug in my headphones I can hear my media just fine, but then if I unplug them the phone won't detect that it no longer has the headphones and so the sound and media will keep playing as if it the headphones were still plugged, obviously I can't hear nothing coming out from the built-in speaker because it keeps sending the sound to the 3.5 mm jack. Sometimes I can make it work, this will only happend if I shut down my phone or if I slightly plug in my headphones on the jack but not enought to get the music , after I do that I can hear a constant "tap-tap-tap-tap" as if someone was knocking the door, however I can't always do that or it dosn't always works. I can also hear that "taptaptap..." sound when I record or make a call and have the built-in speaker working, such speaker stop working the second I plug in and out my headphones and if I record a video with the headphones plugged or the speakers not working I can no longer hear such tapping on the video. Also, if i plug in the headphones I can no longer hear anything during a call, but they can indeed hear me, If i want to hear the other person I'd have to plug in my headphones or pray for a miracle to happen.

Yet I am still not able to hear the ringtone.I noticed that the alarmclock is way louder.When comparing with HTC desire my Torch volume is at least 4-5 dB less. That is a big difference. I consider this a design error, as too loud a ringtone could easily bee prevented by a reasonable default setting and avoided by user adjustment.

It was working great until I connected it to the computer for first time and did the updates and backup suggested. I now get the message "Built in storage media is not accessible due to fatal errors". I also lost all the ringtones. Being a non-techie I did not connect the two. The next time I connected to the computer to backup etc and to download ringtones because mine were gone, all the wallpaper that comes with the device was gone. I have connected again to back up my blackberry andtried to restore to see if that helps, it does not. I did try to reformat my Built in storage media but it did not get rid of the error message and now I donot even see built in storage media coming up when I am in device options.
I finally found out after 1.5 hours on the phone with ATT and Blackberry support that OS 7 doesn't have the Gmail plug-in built in.

It was keep getting stuck. I had given it to service center inbangalore. They did some resetting. But again it continued. Its keep gettingstuck and i have to remove the battery and refix the battery again. By keepdoing this, my back pannel has become loose. Now my handset speaker is notworking. It can only be fixed by a soft or hard reboot, which is quite annoying when you have to do it every other day. The frustrating part is I miss imprtant calls this way and am left on a call wondering if even the call has been established while the other party hears me well.

Is there any way to increase the volume other than the controls on the side of the phone. In options I went to enhance call audio but there were no settings for volume.
