BB Torch :: 9800 Very Often Does Not Receive Or Deliver Bbm's
Dec 19, 2011
My 9800 very often does not receive or deliver bbm's. This is intermittent. If I reboot, the first one or two messages come though fine and the rest can take up to an hour to come trough.
I have problem since few hours ago that I can not send messages through BBM to all my contacts but I can receive messages from my contacts.I have rang the provider and there is no problem on their side, I have tried to remove SIM card, soft reset, remove the battery, upgrade the BMM. But none of them works.
For d past few days, my sent bbm messages doesn't deliver but I always receive msgs from my contacts. Dunno wats wrong wit d phone. I've removed d battery several times but still doesn't work.
Since BB service was restored today I was hoping to get my email back but I cannot receive any incoming email. Sending email works fine but I cannot receive. I have rebooted my BB several times but it is not working.I also tried adding another email account to see if that one worked. The new account shows up in the email setup list but it doesn't appear on my homescreen for some reason. I then tried to delete one of the accounts a had setup before and I have a similar problem. The account no longer appears in the email setup menu, but it still shows on the homescreen.I have a BB Torch 9800 and I am on the Telus network in Canada
I cant send or receive emails on my phone right now. This just started yesterday and is really effecting my business. I really need some help. I am unable to see any new mail and I am also getting new applications that have been downloaded on their own such as Pandora and a new AOL email icon.
I remember when Hotmail messages used to come in a lot faster when I had my Bold 9700. Did something change recently on Hotmail's server?I called AT&T today and tried a few things and it looks like my Hotmail messages are coming in faster but still taking at least 5 minutes. My Exchange messages come in a lot faster as expected.Anyone else have this problem? I did delete all my accounts at least twice today. At one point only one email icon would appear (not including the messages icon) but after deleting the one that didn't appear, it fixed it.Hotmail still slow though.
Every MMS that I receive is tiny like a thumbnail and is poor quality. I've read others have experienced this issue as well, but has anyone found a fix yet?
Let the guy in the store "sync" with Desktop Manager. No link through enterprise server until I can get to office computer but that's ok. I am trying to work through MSN account. But it won't receive emails, it won't send emails and it won't let me change the set up. When I go into setup, it asks for the user name and password. I use my msn user name (inclusive of the @msn.com) and it says it is too short and must be 4 characters! It is! If I leave off the @msn.com, it says my info is wrong.
And I can't figure out how to remove the email account so I can try setting it up again.I did try to set up my gmail account - same issue.
I upgraded to 6.0 Bundle 2342 May 12, 2011 and ever since then - all emails I send from my BB to AOL people are not being delivered to their AOL accounts. I can received AOL and other emails on my BB w/o any problem. When I send an email from the BB - it sends - yet it never reaches the recipients.
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
i had a blackberry torch 9800 which i backed up to the blackberry desktop then it was sent away for a repair and they replaced it with anew 9800 i have tried to recover everything from the desktop but it says i need the old blackberry first?
On other BB's I've moved pictures from the device to the media card using the "move" function - I can't find this on the Torch. Am I overlooking something or will I have to use Desktop Manager?
does anyone no how to transfer all my contact from my Tour which is cdma with no sim card to my new Torch with sim card. i cant do it using blackberry desktop software.
I'm not sure how to connect my school email to my blackberry Torch. My school e-mail is weird because when I go inside everything looks exactly like gmail but it isn't exactly gmail beacuse you can't sign on from www.gmail.com. Gotta go through the school website. It does provide instructions on how to link to the Blackberry but it doens't work for the Torch because the option doesn't exist. (Instructions)To set up the BlackBerry's email client with Google Apps email (IMAP), just follow these steps: On your BlackBerry device, navigate to your home screenSelect the icon that lets you set up email (this can be called Setup, Setup Wizard, Email Setup, BlackBerry Set-up, E-mail settings, or Personal Email Set-up)Follow the setup instructions provided on your device to create a new e-mail accountBe sure to enter the following:Mail Server: imap.gmail.comUsername: [your full Google Apps email address]Password: [your Google Apps password]IMAP Port: 993Allow the system to add your account, but do not enter your Google Apps password into the utility boxes (this causes the system to default to POP3 instead of IMAP)Select NextSelect Next again (bypassing the 'Additional Information Required' section)Select your account type, then select Next. You may encounter a 'We were unable to configure...' error. Select I will provide the settings to continueSelect the option that mentions 'IMAP/POP'Select I will provide the settings..., then select NextSelect Set up existing email account...Enter your Google Apps account information here, with 'imap.gmail.com' as your mail serverSelect NextSelect Save
I'm trying to send a message to my friend who lives out of the country. It's not saying that my messages are being delivered. I tried everyone else on my contacts list and it works ok with them. Does this mean it's an issue with her phone?
So I have a few pics I took with the Torch and I have some wallpapers that I added to the device. Sometimes you can see them in the preview area but when you click on them you get a weird icon that looks like a wheel. Sometimes even in the preview area you cannot see the pic at all.Still on the official OS that came with the phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? I recently swapped out to a larger memory card but I had the problem on both cards.
I assume since I can't find it, there's no way to turn the feature OFF? I find it highly annoying to make noises when there's really no shutter action. I searched and couldn't find anything on the topic.
1. images are not automatically appearing (need to click get images) 2. the HTML emails are appearing too wide. I have to scroll to the right to see the other half of the email.
As you already know, the ring volume on the Torch 9800 is extremely low. So I tried to email custom mp3 ringtones to my phone to use instead. In attempting to do so, I received a message saying "More request cannot be completed. Service book information not found." I also received this message when trying to email a photo to my blackberry. This never use to happen in past blackberries I have owned.
How do I fix this "service book information not found" issue ?
I have bought a Torch, but cannot get it to set up in the Organizer configuration to sync with my Calendar in MS Office XP- Outlook. My computer runs Windows XP. The contacts and memo will configure (although) they are posting to an archive folder and when I try to change that I get Error 0x80043bea), but the Calendar and Tasks will go through the set-up process, but when you finish it, the checkmark on those 2 Outlook folder disappears before you can even select the advance settings.I have re-set the configuration on the Desktop software a couple of times, to no avail, and uninstalled the Desktop 6.0 software and reinstalled it. None of these measures have changed the problem.Any suggestions?
I recently purchased a Blackberry Sync Pod and for some reason the phone will not charge while on the dock. The phone wil enter bedside mode and i get a message stating that the phone will not charge. I am able to charge the phone without the dock using the exact same cable. The retailer isnt willing to assist in this matter as they say it is something I need to take up with the manufacture.whats wrong or how to make the phone charge?
Any theme but the AT&T theme would do... I would prefer the Blackberry default theme. Any theme but the AT&T theme! And how about a blank background? Any background but the AT&T logo.Do you see a pattern here? I really do not appreciate a $600 purchase that is little more than an advertisement for AT&T.
