Would someone with the torch be able to tell me what the defaults are for the following on the device out of the box?
1) ring tone
2) new email alert
3) new sms/mms alert
4) new bbm msg alert
5) calendar reminder
6) voicemail alert
They seem to have become lost after an update crash. They appear to be still on the phone as the alerts in use at the time continue to function but are inaccessible to change and if changed for an imported ringtone can not be restored.How to restore them?
Edit: Ringtone folder on device is empty.
I updated my facebook app and my whatsapp and when my phone rebooted all my default notification sounds where gone. Nothing was there. All I hear is a beep beep beep when I get a message.

I have tried the usual "take the battery out and restart" but it still won't work! Also, it has stopped telling me when I have voicemail, but the little sign that I have voicemal never goes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave had a BB Torch 9800 for about 15 months. Realised earlier this week (after a reboot, which may or may not be relevant) that the default wallpapers had all disappeared. Shortly after that, I realised all the default ringtones and sounds had gone too.
Tried to follow steps on another forum to reinstall sound files. One step was to "Browse to C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesResearch In MotionSharedLoader Files(current device latest OS folder)Java" - problem being that when I navigate as far as C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesResearch In MotionShared there is no LOADER FILES folder on my PC. I haven't consciously deleted this, so what the hell is going on?!
If I don't have the COD files on my PC, is there any way to restore the default sounds and wallpapers?
When a call come in, displays on screen but no tones are heard. Went to "change sounds and alerts", "phone ring tone" and it just comes back to same screen.

I tried to go to options then Typing and Input>Keyboard just like Blackberry tells you to and supposedly there is a choice to change the default currency key, but I don't have that option when I go into the keyboard menu. Can someone tell me another way to do this or expain why the option to change the default currency key is missing from my screen when I go into keyboard options.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Storm had been working fine and I didn't change any settings. Suddenly even though I had the phone set to silent if a call came in the ringtone would play. This had never happened before. Now the ringtone doesn't play at all and none of the other alerts sound at all. If I try and test them they either do not play or I get an error stating it is invalid. If I get a voicemail I'll get a weird beep but that is about it.

I copied a folder called media to my S6 when I first updated to 5.1.1 and I could select my ringtone and message alert tone from this folder, but yesterday it went back to default and now i can't select anything in the media folder, coincidentally my video folder i used to be able to see is now not showing in the video player but is there if i browse my files?? The phone is about year old.Every time I try to use the high speed camera setting the screen turns blue. The normal videos and pictures dont come out good either.Anyone else have these issues? Any suggestions on how to clean the camera lens?Another issue is I had an Env2 think the vx9200 that had my ringtones and music on a memory card.I put that same card into the Dare and I can't set my sounds as a ringtone.The ones under 30 seconds I can but not the full songs like I could on the Evn. I cannot set default ringtones for calls and SMS in Settings. I do the folowing for:
1. call: select Breeze melody in Sound section of the Settings.
2. SMS: select Sinus melody in Sound section of the Settings.
That's all.After several calls sound settings change:
1. call: automatically select f..king Tonga ringtone in Sound section of the Settings.
2. SMS: automatically select Notification ringtone in Sound section of the Settings.No matter what ringtones to choose from. They are always changing to Tonga and Notification.What can I do?

Just got a 6350. I know that there are probably lots of places where I can download ringtones. However, I wanted to mention that I am unhappy with the limited number of default ringtones (about 12). Even my 5 year old Nokia had more choices.
Additionally, all the options play music. There is nothing that is less annoying / more professional sounding. Just a simple ring or beep sequence. So, I'm just learning. Please point me at a good place to download non-song ring tones for this phone. I'm on AT&T if that's an issue.
I have accidentally deleted my ringtones that came on the phone.How can I get them all back? By the way -- I don't have my USB to connect the BB to the computer. But I can take the mem card out and put it in my computer.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI hate things like facebook and twitter however my desire hd sim free came with several apps installed i.e default ones.I have downloaded god knows how many file managers that let you uninstall apps however not yet found one that will let you uninstall the default ones. My second problem is that i am trying to delete the ringtones on the internal memory and also add my own to the list as it appears that you can only assign individualy ring tones to contacts that are the default tones is this correct? I can locate the files however the phone will not let me delete them add to them or modify them what so ever. Managed to now add ringtones to the default set so i can now use my own for individual contacts, just not managed to delete the default ones. I have just found something even more annoying the phone wont let me use my own text message alert i have stored on my phone anyone found a ay round this rather than using one from the net that the phone will let you download?i have also tried doing it via plugging it into my pc however it wont let you view the system files even by changing option to view system files under windows it will only allow viewing of the sd card.

If I set a reminder alarm then that works, so does the alarm clock in the morning and all of my message alerts, phone, text, e-mail etc, but nothing from the calendar appointments.
