BB Torch 9800 :: Pics (camera And Wallpapers) Not Viewable On Torch

Aug 30, 2010

So I have a few pics I took with the Torch and I have some wallpapers that I added to the device. Sometimes you can see them in the preview area but when you click on them you get a weird icon that looks like a wheel. Sometimes even in the preview area you cannot see the pic at all.Still on the official OS that came with the phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? I recently swapped out to a larger memory card but I had the problem on both cards.

BB Torch :: 9800 - Ringtones And Wallpapers All Disappeared?

Oct 24, 2012

Have had a BB Torch 9800 for about 15 months. Realised earlier this week (after a reboot, which may or may not be relevant) that the default wallpapers had all disappeared. Shortly after that, I realised all the default ringtones and sounds had gone too.

Tried to follow steps on another forum to reinstall sound files. One step was to "Browse to C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesResearch In MotionSharedLoader Files(current device latest OS folder)Java" - problem being that when I navigate as far as C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesResearch In MotionShared there is no LOADER FILES folder on my PC. I haven't consciously deleted this, so what the hell is going on?!

If I don't have the COD files on my PC, is there any way to restore the default sounds and wallpapers?

Sep 7, 2010

Somehow I set the default currency to the British pound, so everytime I hit the $ on the keyboard, the british pound symbol comes up.

I tried to go to options then Typing and Input>Keyboard just like Blackberry tells you to and supposedly there is a choice to change the default currency key, but I don't have that option when I go into the keyboard menu. Can someone tell me another way to do this or expain why the option to change the default currency key is missing from my screen when I go into keyboard options.

Is there a way to make the "Favorites" overlay screen the default overlay for your phone. So I do not want to see "ALL" as the first overlay and have to scroll right or left to get to the Favorites screen. I want Favorites to be the first thing I see when looking at the phone each time. That way I can put everything I used in Favorites and simply see that first.

BB Torch 9800 Smartphone :: Way To Remove Free Time From Day View?

Sep 8, 2010

With the Bold 9000 I set the start time to 9am and end time to 10am, so it would not show every hour even if there is not an appointment. With the Torch, it still shows every hour from 12am to 12am. I like the day view, but having all the free time wastes time with scrolling.

BB Torch 9800 :: Did RIM Remove Magnet Sensor And No Longer Have An In Holster Mode?

Aug 13, 2010

I just picked up a new Torch today. I've have a Bold 9000 for a long time and am used to dropping it into my belt case or pouch and having it turn off and go into in-holster mode. When I put the Torch in my 9000 cases it doesn't seem to do anything. Did RIM remove the magnet sensor and no longer have an in-holster mode? Or is the sensor in a different place and it won't work with my Bold cases? Am I missing something? I don't like having to click the lock button on the top before dropping into the case.

As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.

BB Torch 9800 :: Use Switch Device Wizard To Move From 9700 To 9800?

Aug 11, 2010

I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.

I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.

Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.

Nokia PC/Mac Software :: 6120 Any Way To Remove Space That Outlook Seems To Put After Country Code By Default

Mar 10, 2011

I store my contact mobile phone #s in international format (ie +61 4xx xxxxxx) so they are accessable from overseas when I travel without having to edit. Outlook 2003 seems to put a space character by default after the country code, so these appear as +61 4xxxxxxxx in Outlook. When I sync my Nokia 6120 to Outlook this space then gets transferred across to the phone as the # for the contact. When I receive anything from the contact (phone call, SMS etc), the number I have saved for them does not exactly match the number that comes through (either because of the extra space, or because it will come through in Australian format ie 04xx xxxxxx) and the contact does not get recognised by the phone, and simply appears as the #, not the contact name.If I send an SMS first & this is replied to, it comes back correctly identified, but new messages etc from contacts are not identified.

Is there any way to remove the space that Outlook seems to put after the country code by default? And is there any way for the phone to recognise +61 4xxxxxxxx and +614xxxxxxxx and 04xxxxxxxx all as the same number for the same contact?
