Anyone else a messageoholic like I am? I am extremely ready to upgrade to this phone for its notifications, social media aspect, and (of course) the keyboard. I will def miss my 9000 keyboard tho.BUT if actual text messages show up in the notifications as opposed to only emails, I will be happy
View 4 RepliesWhen I turn my phone on in the morning, texts will come through from the day/night before while it was off. The time of the messages are always the time i turned it on, not when it was really sent. Is there a setting for that so I know when the messages were actually sent?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I got my Blackberry Torch 9800 everything worked for two days well not everything the browser said "uncaught exception java.lang illegal state so I did the sofeware update.After the update a I was unable to use the BB Messange..I went to my Service Provider and they told me I had to reload my OS which they did.I can send and recieve textes and calls but I still cannot get instant messaging, BB messanger and emails. I live in the Cayman Islands and my service provider is LIME. I bought this phone from Amazon via the OEM Planet in April.

When I click on it it says: Uncaught exception:Java.lang.indexoutofbounds exception.I called att&t, they told me I need to update the OS, I tried to from my device, it takes forever saying preparing to download then I get a message saying Update cannot continue. Update ising blackberry desktop manager on your computer.Version says 6.0 bundle 2342, which I dont see any mention of this anywhere on the web.I tried using Wi-fi only, then att&t network only, then both, it still will not download. I want to get to my text messages.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.

I find that disappointing and hard to belive. I used the bold 9700, before I bought the new torch, it allowed me to send out a group text to over thirty people with no problem. Does anyone know how to send a group text to over ten people on the new torch?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently got the Torch 9800 and was wondering if there is a way to send a mass text out.I've already created a group in my contacts which contains about 200 members, when I try to send a text out to the group I get a message saying I can only text 10 ppl at a time.Previous BB versions didn't have this limitation, why regress? My Nokia E71 did it just fine as well on at&t.I assume it's a limitation imposed by at&t; if I were to have the phone unlocked, would it remove this limitation?Is there any way I can work around this "flaw"?Plz help, I'm addicted to this dam phone now and would hate to give it up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI haven't found a resolution to my missing text message icon on my BB Torch. It was there a few days ago but it has since disappeared. I read and tried a few things. It doesn't even show up in the menu (device/delete data) after I sync'd. I do receive messages but without notification. Also the character length is only 28 per message (incoming). Outgoing is OK. Contacts are all there.the SMS in the menu there is ticked. Also I do not receive FaceBook notifications.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOk I have noticed that on the Torch the text tone is the same for everyone even if you assign a ringtone and tone for message for a contact. Before on the 9700 when you received a text, e-mail whatever tone was assigned to that contact came through. I guess that feature is gone.

Instead it brings me to a random part of the conversation(although it is usually the same part over and over). This is very small, but very annoying indeed. When I open up an SMS conversation, it doesn't always open to the most recent entry, even if I was on the most recent before closing the conversation. I then have to attempt the tricky "flick the track pad up just enough to get to the bottom without actually putting the cursor in the message" maneuver just to get to the bottom.
I was told that when you send a text message with the the Torch it puts a check by the message when it sends and that it will place and "R" beside the message when the other person opens the the text. Can anyone tell me how to turn that option on?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an unusual issue I would like some assistance on since I just got a blackberry, I have the Curve 2 8530. I use Total Call Blocking with my carrier so that when I call anyone my number is automatically blocked / restricted. Therefore, in my contact list, I have my friends or family contacts listed with the *82 in front of the number to unblock for those people. This works fine for phone calls.
However, on Text Messaging / Picture Messaging, the *82 will cause these messages to fail. I am used to LG phones, you have the ability to edit the number while creating a message, before your send one of these messages. The problem I am having is when I send a Text Message / Picture Message it appears from the blackberry as only the 10 digit number (even though the contact has *82 in front of it)...and the message shows it is sent (with the check mark) but it NEVER received.
After only a couple of days with my torch and not having modified it all, all of a sudden when I click on the TEXT message icon, it just shows my regular inbox. It used to show only SMS messages and was really cool. Now it shows emails and all! I dont see anywhere to change this back to the original behavior. I did a hard reset with no luck. So far I love my phone even with the minor annoyances like it hangs for a few seconds after unlocking it everytime, fine I can live with that. But I really want to fix this text message thing

The only app i have installed is Facebook and I have over 300 MB of application space and multiple GBs of data storage space. I only have this problem with text messages too, emails older than 30 days are still on my phone. What's going on?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhenever I receive a text message from a sender like American Airlines where their name/number is a random set of numbers, it will not remove itself from the home page list even if I delete it. If I select it after I have deleted it, it's just a blank message. Any ideas as to how to resolve this? The only thing that has worked for me so far is to reset the phone. I don't want to have to do that each time a message of this type comes in to my inbox.

As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
