I haven't found a resolution to my missing text message icon on my BB Torch. It was there a few days ago but it has since disappeared. I read and tried a few things. It doesn't even show up in the menu (device/delete data) after I sync'd. I do receive messages but without notification. Also the character length is only 28 per message (incoming). Outgoing is OK. Contacts are all there.the SMS in the menu there is ticked. Also I do not receive FaceBook notifications.
After only a couple of days with my torch and not having modified it all, all of a sudden when I click on the TEXT message icon, it just shows my regular inbox. It used to show only SMS messages and was really cool. Now it shows emails and all! I dont see anywhere to change this back to the original behavior. I did a hard reset with no luck. So far I love my phone even with the minor annoyances like it hangs for a few seconds after unlocking it everytime, fine I can live with that. But I really want to fix this text message thing
Noticed yesterday in my Favorites screen that many icons were no longer there. My browser for example. So I went to my "All" screen and highlighted my browser and pressed  and clicked "unmark as favorite". Then I clicked  again and chose "Mark as favorite". That put my browser back into my favorites list. But now its gone again today, along with all the others I had to unmark and then re-mark. Anyone else had this happen?
i have had a 9800 for about a year plus, its been fine but i seem to be losing some of my contacts. I have had cases where i try to retrieve a number but it wont come up,but once i get the number from another source and now use my 9800 to dial the number,it shows up on the display with the name its store
The music player that normally comes with the phone, and is usually found in the "Media" folder (along with the video player, voice notes, ring tones, etc.), is missing. It's been missing for quite awhile and I'm not sure how it just disappeared. If I try to play a song through the file browser it will just play it with the video player. How can I get the music player back, or is there any other application I can download that will work just as well?
Carrier: Rogers Model info and OS version: BlackBerry 9800, 6.0 Bundle 2647 (v6.0.0.600, Platform 6.6.0.223)
reinstall my sms text icon which appears to have gone missing? The only way I can currently see if I have received a text is to go into each individual contact name.
I have a BB Torch 9800 and for some reason the digital keyboard went missing - I cannot get access to it - and furthermore when I tilt or turn my phone the screen does not adapt to the new position.
I know this question has been asked before but my SMS/Text Message Icon has literally disappeared from my phone. I have rebooted, searched etc and nothing. I had some sort of Java error before this happened.
My bold 3 9780 text messaging icon is missing. and i cant track back all my sms. I still can send out sms using search or edit recipient but to read previous sms which is not from my contact list is impossible.
On my blackberry torch home screen, there is status icon on top which consists of a red circle with a white "w" in the middle of it. Just to the right is the number "1". Does anyone know what this means?
I have a box that says EN that comes up in the top right corner of the screen when I go to anything where I can type. This just started today. I think I might have hit an option in my pocket. I would like it to be removed.
For some reason I have lost my Text Messaging Icon. If I look in my Contacts - I am able to select a Contact and then hit Menu and am given the option of "Send a Text Message" - which works. When I receive a text message - the appropriate notification goes off (audible or vibrate), but, there is no indication in the status bar that there is a new text message. If I go into "Contacts" and look at the individual that sent the text message, I can see the conversation in their history. Obviously, with a ton of Contacts, even if I do happen to get the notification, it can be quite the task to figure out where its coming from. I assume that any texts that do not have an associated Contact are just simply gone.
I use a TORCH 9800. After i recenthy updated my app world to 4.0.63, the app world icon is missing. I installed it, still not found, I tried HIDDEN options, tried RE-BOOTINGI found a page where there were 4 causes and 4 resolutions given. The first 3 i tried and no use. The 4 th option is to click the given URL and update the device software, but that URL itself is not working.
I just had an OS update to the phone today (12/17/11) And as usual I had to resetup everything on the phone. Well I setup three email accounts, one of which is gmail (my main one). It is the only one of the three that did not create an icon when I confirmed it was setup. It only shows up messages in the main messaging icon for all email accounts.I have hard restarted the phone, I have uninstalled and reinstalled all the emails again, nothing changes.

I have bought a new Torch 9810 and since, then facing various issues. The latest one being that compass icon is missing under Application or Home screen. On top of it, I checked that Compass is neither present in the installed Applications list. The last thing I remember was that I had reset the phone once.
My BlackBerry App World icon is missing from my homepage. I need to update some of my applications but can't. I tried to update via my Browser but gets a message that my application is unsupported.
I rarely get voicemails on my Torch but found out today that I had 2 from a week ago by holding down 1 & hearing them. Shouldn't there be an Icon or notification alerting me to the fact that I had unheard voicemails? Is there something I have to do to get that to work?
Just thought I'd pass this along since when I tried to find it the other day on RIM's website I couldn't. If you want to download the ribbon icon for the built in Blackberry Maps you can go to http://www.blackberry.com/send/maps from your phone's browser to install it.I know when the phone was first released on AT&T people had speculated that it wasn't at mobile.blackberry.com because AT&T didn't want it there but it seems that they just hadn't updated the maps website for the Torch yet. BTW, it's still not at mobile.blackberry.com.
Did you notice your rss feeds icon changed? I just noticed mine a few minutes ago. My icon used to be an orange square-looking icon but now it's an abstract-looking yellow-green icon. I didn't update or changed anything on my phone. Is anyone else noticing that? The alert icon which shows when you have a new feed is still orange but when I open the app, the icon on the left of each feed is that abstract-looking yellow green icon.
I have my email going to my torch, and when a message comes in, a yellow envelope shows up. The problem is that the yellow envelope wont go away. I tried clicking the envelope, tried going into the mail folder, and I even deleted all the messages in the folder. Still there!
I powered off and on, nothing
took the battery out, nothing
took the cards out, nothing
any thoughts? my next try will be re-establishing my email accounts
I had an issue with my Torch 9800 smartphone, my phone booted and show a battery Icon with 2red lines across it. I have tried to wipe the OS with BBSAK 1.8.0, 1.8.2, 1.9.2 , JL_CMDR and Java Loader, none of this work for me, as they all fail to connect to my device. BBSAK could not detect my device. But BB desktop Manager can connect, detect and recongnise my device. When I try to update and reload the OS with DM and BB application loader, I get stuck up with an error message: "Reconnecting to JVM". My Laptop HP Pavilion dm4 Notebook is running 64-bit / Window 7.
I am trying to charge my blackberry after a weekend camping. The battery ran out. I plugged it into charge, it started to boot, the screen flashed white and now it won't come off the red x with a battery behind it.
