My BlackBerry App World icon is missing from my homepage. I need to update some of my applications but can't. I tried to update via my Browser but gets a message that my application is unsupported.

I use a TORCH 9800. After i recenthy updated my app world to 4.0.63, the app world icon is missing. I installed it, still not found, I tried HIDDEN options, tried RE-BOOTINGI found a page where there were 4 causes and 4 resolutions given. The first 3 i tried and no use. The 4 th option is to click the given URL and update the device software, but that URL itself is not working.

Somehow, I lost the telephone icon that appears on my homepage. I had to do a factory reset and somehow or another, that phone icon disappeared. How to restore the icon?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 9300 and recently upgraded to version 3.1.0.58 app world then after a few days the icon disappeared. I tried to download from the blackberry website but I kept having a message that too many tabs were open (there wasnt) and that the browser needed cleaning (or words to that effect...I think!). I have since received an email from blackberry stating that there was an error with that version and to download version 3.1.0.56 - I cannot download that either. I have tried by connecting to my laptop and downloading from the blackberry site, it states that I cannot download from there and to use the mobile web. I still cannot download from there either. I do have updated software on my curve as it crashed about 3 months ago when removing an app.

After re-booting the phone, my App World icon was suddenly missing from my home screen. It was not on my Download screen either. I could also not find it when doing a search for App World. I re-installed App World from the Blackberry website. I still had the same problem. Then a friend suggested that I un-install App World by Settings: Device: Application Management: Blackberry App World - and selecting delete in Options. I did this - and then re-installed App World AGAIN on my phone from the website. And still the problem persists. Do I actually have App World on my phone or not? If I do have it on my phone, how and where do I find the icon - so I can place it on my home screen.

Originally I moved everything onto my new phone by using desktop manager but there seemed to be a problem with constant rebooting because it didnt like some of the third party apps. I restored the phone to the original settings but although I have Appworld and Bridge in my list of applications there is no icon for them - i have checked by Show All and they are not there. Both showed as icons on my 8520 and worked fine (I have a playbook too which is why I need the Bridge).

I have looked in the downloads folder, the apps folder, and every other folder I have on my phone just for GP for that matter but can not find the BB App World Icon. Under the Apps it says that it is installed. I have removed and reinstalled several times and done a battery pull VS a restart more than 10 times. The only thing I have not done is format the phone.

I drilled into each of the sub folders, selecting 'show all' for each, and still could not find the icon. I attempted to re-download the app from the blackberry website using my browser, but was informed that I already had the application on my device. I then attempted to replace the existing version, and still no icon.I then decided to navigate to the application center and remove the app world application. I then navigated back to my browser (cleared the cache) and attempted to download the app. I received a 'download failed' notification, with the details of 'Invalid COD error 907' message (or something to that affect).

Device: Curve 9300
Carrier: Vodaphone UK
OS: 6.0 Bundle (v6.0.0.448, platform 6.6.0.124)
App world: v2.1.1.19 (i think)
After installing OS6 on my Blackberry 9300 the icon for Blackberry App World has disappeared. App World is installed in the application list but the icon does not appear on the Home screen even after the show all command.
