Motorola Atrix 2 :: Reinstall Stock Text Messaging App On It?
Feb 17, 2012Is there anyway to reinstall the stock text messaging app on the Atrix 2? Since day one the app will link to the wrong message from the preview, either in the Universal Inbox, the Notifications, or the Text Messages list. A reboot of the device corrects the problem temporarily, but it always returns.

Aug 12, 2011I activated my new BB Bold 9700 yesterday and everything was fine until this morning. I plugged my device into my laptop to setup the BB Desktop software and when I unplugged it a short while later, I noticed I no longer had a text messaging icon on my homescreen, or in my tray. I can still recieve/send text messages, but I can't find my inbox anywhere.

Oct 2, 2012my toddler granddaughter deleted my text message icon. I tried the suggestions that others said worked for them (ie removing the battery to force a reboot while the phone is turned on and trying to unhide the icon). Neither one worked for me. Even doing ALT S doesn't let me look at my text messages.

For some reason I have lost my Text Messaging Icon. If I look in my Contacts - I am able to select a Contact and then hit Menu and am given the option of "Send a Text Message" - which works.When I receive a text message - the appropriate notification goes off (audible or vibrate), but, there is no indication in the status bar that there is a new text message. If I go into "Contacts" and look at the individual that sent the text message, I can see the conversation in their history. Obviously, with a ton of Contacts, even if I do happen to get the notification, it can be quite the task to figure out where its coming from. I assume that any texts that do not have an associated Contact are just simply gone.

Apr 22, 2015I think this has been happening ever since the first release of 8.1. Basically if the phone sleeps while a messaging conversation is open, when I wake and unlock the phone, there will often be random gibberish in the compose field. So if I want to send a message, I first have to erase the gibberish.
idk, it's just weird and annoying and I can't figure out what's causing it. My best guess is that it has something to do with typing in the pin code to unlock the phone... which I just realized I should try and test with and without having to type in the pin.

Aug 23, 2010After only a couple of days with my torch and not having modified it all, all of a sudden when I click on the TEXT message icon, it just shows my regular inbox.It used to show only SMS messages and was really cool. Now it shows emails and all!
I dont see anywhere to change this back to the original behavior. I did a hard reset with no luck.So far I love my phone even with the minor annoyances like it hangs for a few seconds after unlocking it everytime, fine I can live with that. But I really want to fix this text message thing

Jan 30, 2010I have an unusual issue I would like some assistance on since I just got a blackberry, I have the Curve 2 8530. I use Total Call Blocking with my carrier so that when I call anyone my number is automatically blocked / restricted. Therefore, in my contact list, I have my friends or family contacts listed with the *82 in front of the number to unblock for those people. This works fine for phone calls.
However, on Text Messaging / Picture Messaging, the *82 will cause these messages to fail. I am used to LG phones, you have the ability to edit the number while creating a message, before your send one of these messages. The problem I am having is when I send a Text Message / Picture Message it appears from the blackberry as only the 10 digit number (even though the contact has *82 in front of it)...and the message shows it is sent (with the check mark) but it NEVER received.

Jun 23, 2011Since I connected my device to my PC a couple of days ago, the Email notification icon that comes up on my Home screen has changed from the 'speech bubble' to the 'envelope' which is identical to the email notifier. Mar 17, 2011I haven't found a resolution to my missing text message icon on my BB Torch. It was there a few days ago but it has since disappeared. I read and tried a few things. It doesn't even show up in the menu (device/delete data) after I sync'd. I do receive messages but without notification. Also the character length is only 28 per message (incoming). Outgoing is OK. Contacts are all there.the SMS in the menu there is ticked. Also I do not receive FaceBook notifications.

The only way I can write a text is to select a contact from the contacts list and then select to send that person a text message. This all works but is a pain. The phone is what it is and if you don't like it, don't get it! I think the phone works quite well. Your bitching is like people who would rather complain about what's on TV than change the channel.On to my little problem...About 7 times now my Text Messages icon has vanished from my Favorites menu. Each time this happens, I re-favorite it. There doesn't seem to be any ryme or reason for this to happen. I've tried the battery pull a few times. I've done the power down/back up. But the Text Messages icon is the only icon that vanishes from Favorites.

I've tried reinstalling it, but it still won't show up. I just now realized that its BB AppWorld that has disappeared and I cannot seem to find it for the life of me. A Blackberry Maps application has been installed on my device (version 4.6.1), but the icon to start it up is missing. I have seen some posts regarding that problem but none of the proposed solutions seem to work, including reinstallation of the application (upon trying I get a message that Blackberry Maps is not compatible with the software I have installed). I have recently updated OS to 4.6.1.231 (platform 4.2.0.108) so my soft is definitely up-to date. I am clueless as to what to do now.
